Hi, Dr. Gary! What do you think of clinics that offer "alternative" hair restoration procedures? I've read about the bSBS protocol (introduced by an Italian medical group), which allegedly comprises a host of genetic exams and procedures that ensure that "sick" hair follicles are properly "cured". The fact that this sounds fantastic on paper is definitely the reason why it smells a tad fishy to me! In your opinion, what red flags should we look out for to avoid scams?

these fibers remind me of body mods (like the kind you get from a certified piercer or body mod implant piercer). i dont mean this in a bad way, but really fascinating. I feel like the stigmatization of body modifications (think Ripley Believe it or Not) is a disadvantage to the medical industry. There's a lot plastic surgeons can really embrace within that community that might help patients and expand technology for people. The implant stuff makes a lot of sense to me as someone who is in the mod community. You do too much at once you're going to run a very high risk of rejection, you implant the wrong area with the wrong object/jewelry high rejection risk, do too much without letting you body heal between mods high risk of rejection. the big three are location, jewelry/object, and aftercare. Aftercare extends to time between modification. The general rule of thumb with piercings is 3-4 in a year or you will start run the risk of rejection, infection, and reduction in heal time. Granted everybody has a different body so some could do more some might be able to only get 1 a year. I saw a tweet where someone was like i hated my nose, and i was going to get a nose job, but a friend said try a nose piecing (you can remove it if you hate it and then get the nose job), and the person ended up loving her nose from a simple piercing. Comments under the tweet were like i did this too and it showed me how i could like my nose.

Honestly it just doesn't sound like that great of a procedure. Any procedure that requires that frequent of "touch ups" basically means any change in the patient's financial situation becomes a health risk. That's something I don't think is brought up enough even with procedures as common as breast implants.

autoimmune disorder is really vague... celiac disease is an autoimmune disease, but this does not effect someone's immune system. People who follow the treatment plan also live a "normal" life. (this is just 1 example of many autoimmune disorders that don't effect the immune system and inflammation can be controlled with a treatment plan.)

Hello doc! Didn't watch any of your videos yet, heh, but I would really need you to answer to my next questions because there are so... particular, specific, I think, heh. You should even do a video about ideas most of people think about hair loss and myths and so on, by responding to questions like mine. 1. Sometimes you can restore your hair just by treatment without transplant? Or did I understood wrong that part you said something about, in the video about Radal? Or, first, you need treatment to get hair transplant? Treatment for what, for reducing the DHT to be sure you won't lose more old hair around the new transplanted one? Or, you can lose from DHT your new hair also? 2. Male baldness is mostly about too much DHT? That's why black females lose hair and most of black men don't, because black women have enough Testosterone to have too much DHT and black males usually have too much ("very high" enough) Testosterone not to get converted a lot of it into DHT? Usually men with lots of Testosterone have better hormonal balance to minimise DHT forming, right? 3. What is the most right minimum price for a hair transplant? If it costs only 2000€ then it might not be serious enough? What prices do you have for, ugh, basically "God's penis on top of your head" not too deep baldness pattern? 4. What else really important should I take in consideration? Very low Testosterone wouldn't massively reduce the DHT also?

Get a natural hair transplant. Wear a wig. Go bald. Whatever floats your boat. BUT DO NOT IMPLANT A WIG ONTO YOUR HEAD. 🙅🏻‍♀️

If there's not permanent or semi-permanent results I'd rather bald naturally. I dont think risks are worth it

Might as well just use hair systems [wig] instead of inserting artificial hair and risking infection. Wigs / transplants over artificial fibres any day.
