My opinion having 2100 hours in just a year and 8 months is don't do it yet, wait for gateway, and if ends up being a good map and makes evrima the main branch then yes, buy it

If I remember right when I bought The Isle, Evrima was not even a thing, it was a while before even the current skin system in legacy was added, Allo and Sucho were not even on survival yet. I paid for that and enjoyed that for a long time before Evrima, so when it did come out and started getting updates slowly but surely it was just a very welcome free upgrade, and right now I can't even imagine how it'd be if Evrima wasn't a thing because I'm so used to it now and I can't imagine myself ever going back to legacy, I tried in the past out of nostalgia but regretted it every time I got into a fight because pvp in that version is just awful. Evrima is, at least in my opinion, best dinosaur game ever made, despite it's many issues, so I'd say it's positives are more than enough to make it worth buying.

Yes I agree! I also started on Legacy and was on it for about a year before stepping foot in everima, and it has been hard to go back to legacy because they are doing a great job with Evrima, yes it may be slow on the updates but damn it's a lot better thanks to the mechanics!

Yes. You should. I’ve had the game for 3 years and barely played it before 6.5. After 6.5 I can’t get enough. It’s the purest survival game experience available right now.

@@ucjgaming I tried the legacy branch and liked it okay, but I didn’t know the servers and didn’t have anyone to play with. I find the newer system easier and I meet lots of people that end up being nice to play with. But it’s also fun to play solo and be a sneaky scavenger. I’ve perfected the art of choosing camouflage skins for all dinosaurs so when it’s night time I’m almost invisible to other players night vision. So many times I’ve had players hunting me, literally right on top of me but they don’t see me cause I blend so well.

Oviraptor's don't eat eggs. It was mistakenly called egg snatcher because the first fossil was found with eggs. Turns out it was a nesting mother. The largest oviraptor was Gigantoraptor and weighed over 2 tons and was more that 8 meters long. I hope they go with that.

i hope they add with the weather, flooding and droughts where it will affect water ambush predators like deino like them having more movement around the map or if its droughts you have to find a big enough bit of water to hide yourself

Legacy is the better game but evrima looks nicer and more features but legacy only skill survives and all the cool Dino’s. Rex,giga, theri. Spino Acro Alberto When you are a legacy player evrima feels wierd it feels better now but still like more casual only cool thing evrima have crocs but it’s cool you buy the isle and you get both legacy and evrima

This game would be ten times better RIGHT NOW if they'd focus fire on dealing with the hacking problem and their shitty Anti cheat sh*t so people can actually play Officials comfortably without dealing with hackers just about every night.

It's strange, I don't seem to run into that many hackers for it to be an issue to be honest, maybe a few months ago I did but now it seems a bit better? Unless I'm not seeing them or if it's not obvious enough, but still yeah they should sort it out regardless of how many there are

Do you play Officials? If so EU or NA? Most the time the hackers plague NA around 11 to 12 PM. Me and the group I'm in run into them pretty often. @@ucjgaming

the thing i don't like about Evrima is that you don't have a playerlist to add players to your group, my friend and i spent 3 hours in Evrima just to find eachother so we could group (we spawned in the same area) (not everyone is good with cords) also if you get too far away from your group in Evrima, you can't see their name anymore. and if you 2 call, you suddenly change group sometimes :( that's annoying. also the Cera corps thing is not fun when you try to stay hidden (too much sound) love to play cera, but not anymore :( beside from that, Evrima is starting too look good :) can't wait for it to be done :)

Yeah I get what you mean, it's not really new user friendly. And for cera I would suggest crouching when wanting to be hidden, that way you don't do the sounds :)

There's a third party map I use all the time. You just copy paste your cords to the map and it tells you where you are. You can also see where all the resources are.

Got the game with the steam summer sale. Have about 130 hours into it now. Didn't care for legacy at all. I play on a realism server on evrima now. No mix packing allowed. It is awesome.

Been playing the isle since 2018-2019, the game has changed a lot and its still awesome, unfortunately after the latest update, for some reason my pc cant run it properly. Most likely a problem with my graphics card.

Yeah that is a problem with legacy, it's hard to find servers sometimes

carno needs an acceleration buff i think they nerfed the charge when u can activate it so its good, *BUT* it needs an acceleration buff so it can properly ambush prey.

@@ucjgamingYep, and do to that you cant really chase prey due to the stamina drain you have, yes this could be mitigated by diets but even if its still a bad feature to be a ambush predator and a pursuit hunter that cant chase prey, and its not faithful to the animal itsself

Honestly if evirima didnt have to require the anti cheat program just to operate the game it probably would've been easier to play with friends and It should've been also playable on consoles as well in my opinion.

@@ucjgaming cause it's pretty much required to play evirima at least from what I experienced playing it. couple of my friends installed the isle anti cheat is installed and when they tried to play it anticheat doesn't work for then even when they tried and fixing it

​@@slicklink9131happened with one of my friends too. Turned out they pressed no to installing the isle. After reinstalling the isle and pressing yes to install the anti cheat when the prompt came up, they had no problems.

I wonder if they will raise the game price once Gateway offically comes out with all the new dinos coming up aswell and Evrima becomes the main brance and Legacy is deleted.

before they do that they have to put way more stuff into the game to make it worth more. there is nothing to do besides killing your time,no missions,objectives,pve stuff or what ever,you dont even have any stats or information about what you did in the dinos life span. the game is fine for playing with some friends but besides that its more frustrating and boring af if you play solo and that cuts out a big potential player base so i dont see any reason for them to raise the price.

Ever since 6.5 came out the graphics have been terrible. I get this weird anti aliasing bug where the water and other objects are super pixelated and gross looking. It makes the game basically unplayable. Adjusting graphics settings does nothing

@@ucjgamingNgl, in comparison to their previous animations and movement in legacy, the models have become super janky and aren’t as smooth as they used to be. The whole “aesthetic” they have now isn’t has polished as done previously. It just doesn’t look the best it can be, sadly.

I can see forced migration destroying the herbivore playerbase we have. Considering most of the servers is carnivore, herbivores will be outnumbered and if carnivores will know there is a migration going and if they know where the path is, then they can just massacre every herbivore on that path. They got to make sure the herbivores outnumber carnivores by a lot first. Or add AI herbivores to the herd to make it safer for players.

Well it really depends on the paths, and how many paths there are, also don't forget these hers would probably have apexes in them so I doubt that it would be that easy to demolish a migrating herd, if you've played legacy it happened a lot there and yeah sure we would suffer a bit, but so would the carnivores, and it's part of the thrill!

@@ucjgaming The question is, will apexes (like stego) be good in defending their group? Or will their hard hitting attacks be AOE attacks, that inevitably hit their allies too and each other. Carnivores have precision attacks that allow them to strike one target with high damage. So, apex herbivores might not be a good counter. Especially if you will also have apex carnivores hunting on those predetermined paths. This feature needs a lot of tinkering and thinking before implementation.

@@NLance Completely agree, but they did say they will be adding more to stego and Deino, so it could be another attack for stego which could be more controlled perhaps? And yeah I get the friendly fire is a big thing with stegos but at the end of the day it depends on how good the defence is of the formation of that herd migrating as well

i say no!!! ive had issues with the game since they brought out the evirma map!!! the main issue being that unless u play an herbivore ur gonna starve, so playing anything like a raptor, rex, etc ur not gonna find food unless u play on a highly populated server n go after everyone!!!! if ur like me u just basically want to explore n group up with friends, but thanx to the way they got the map setup ur not gonna survive!!!!

In my experience Omni and Carno are the only ones that are kinda difficult to survive as specially solo, as Deino free food is basically everywhere and it's impossible to starve and Cera can eat literally anything so it's quite easy too, fish are more than enough to feed pteras and Troodon can easily survive eating compies, but if you are having trouble finding food I reccomend going to that death trap at center, people always fall off those cliffs so if you go in there you are likely to have way more food than you need. It also has a safe-ish drinking spot too, well safer than most at least. And if there are any threats you can use the dense bushes on the edges to get away.

I mean, it is a survival game at heart, so you are meant to hunt for food, yes they should improve AI and bring me out so you can hunt that but also hunting players is part of the game. But I understand that you want to just chill as that has become part of the game, but I would be mad at the game for doing what it's meant to do

If one didn't need a super computer to play it at even passable performance, I might be tempted.

If you have an average laptop no buy path. You will have low graphics just to get ok fps. Get a good laptop if you desire the isle

1 thing that evirma fails to understand is smaller does not always = Faster.. they need to nerf the speed on alot of the dinos specially when small.. lil baby raptors should not be as fast as adults.. they need to re tune all the speeds.

Played it for a couple months now. It's a fun game, but not finished. The map is also really bad. I think that a better map alone will make this game much better as a whole. Agree that humans should be removed. I don't like the idea.

@@UserNamedTenonto Honestly, a ruled server like the Islanders server is a lot better than the chaos inducing officials server. Don't have to worry about mixpackers or overaggressive herbivores that kill everything in site unprovoked.

The isle is great and you kinda get 2 games in 1 legacy and evrima

I still consider EVRIMA a dumpster fire of a game in it's current state. Tona of bugs, disconnections and lack of food. This is a starvation simulator in my opinion. Buy the game, but you'll have to wait at least a decade for it to be playable. Just my opinion.

also honest opinion, i prefer evrima to legacy, but have better memories of Legacy compared to evrima, could be due to ofcourse starting on legacy. but these days i feel the legacy audience has become a bit more competetive, for example glitches being used to snipe bites n shit, but that's always gonna happen as the game ages and grows out of date.

@@TheForecaster1 Yeah, and not to mention the clans lol, never a fair fight, like not even close! It takes me hours and hours to make a video on it as I did when I grow instantly most of the times by running into a mega herd 😅 and I'm not the best at combat in Legacy anyway!

I wouldn't even suggest buying this game unless you have a rtx of 3060 or higher.

it runs well on anything with more than 4gb of VRAM, I have a fr,end who plays it with a 1060 6gb it runs well enough, though I'd reccomend something with 8gb, I'm using an rx6600 (on par with an rtx3060) and I can play it on the highest settings the game has to offer, I get 70-110 fps with no upscaling

I have friends playing it with 1060 6gb or 1070, as far as I know it rus well on anything with more than 4gb, it has trouble with 4gb cards regardless of power, at least in my experience. So gtx 1060 6gb is the lowest I'd reccomend, rx6600 does fine on 1080p all epic graphics or 1440p at high settings, like I said on my other comment rx6600 is pretty much equal to a 3060 despite being much cheaper so I'd say 3060 is also a lot more than enough. But yea any graphics card with 8gb VRAM or more should run Evrima fine

I played for almost 300h and my opinion is this game has a lot of potential,but is hard to call this a game yet and I dont believe the devs will do a good job,game is terrible optimized,full of bugs and glitches,the last update made it worse then It ever was,I already left the game,maybe in the future who knows but with this dev team I dont believe this game has future

Evrima development is just too slow.. specially if u love sauropods... they don't even have any sauropods yet and its been years! They r probably gonna have trex n trike next update but its already been eons since ppl waited for that. These dinos should have already been implemented by now. When r they gonna add bigger dinos like sauropods if a damn trex has taken forever? I suggest just buy path of titans and play on community and enjoy a good time. Definitely more dinos.

I understand your frustration but pot is completely different to the isle, yes they are both dinosaur games but that's the only similarity. Both games have a very different feel to them, if they were the same play style then the isle wouldn't exist anymore as they do actually update and progress with their game much better, but if you prefer a more realistic feel to a game where it's more survival based then the isle is still better
