I have been playing the 9.7 MIG-21s (r-13-300) which doesn't gets any flares to grind the event and ussr air tree, this plane and a-10 has made my life miserable and grind experience so horrible 😭

Yeah, the Mig21S has been powercrept pretty hard when it now fights 10-10.3 on the regular every match, there's no chance of downtier either cause its just too good for 9.3. If its a 1v1 against one of the 9L slingers you just gotta play it slow and bait out the missiles with low percentage solutions, then boom&zoom them to death cause you will lose a rate fight. Unfortunately though the A10's and now the A6 like to travel in packs so it makes it very difficult to deal with. Best of luck.

I tired it with that but yesterday just gave up and got the su25 on sale for like 33 USD. Now I can get my revenge on the A6 and the A10 with good missiles countermeasures.

I wouldn’t ever buy a vehicle off of sale, but it is a great aircraft. You basically orbital bomb people in Ground, so it’s just better than the A-10 in basically every way.

Wdym by "orbit bomb"? Go circles around battlefield on high alt while periodically turning into the target to drop the bomb? But how much time would that whole ordeal take? I mean from the spawn to getting last drop. And wouldn't A-10 early be faster with unloading 6 mavericks from the spawn since they go 30km now? Considering it would probably still have a few guided bombs at that point + gau8?

I disagree. I love the A-6E TRAM and I've gotten plenty of 3.5km kills with the Aim-9L but I find the sweet spot is around 2.5km. Every match I get around 2-4 kills guaranteed. You just need to play it smart on air RB. I side climb, and then bnz on unsuspecting players with a full loadout of Aim-9Ls, rtb, and either get a bomb loadout or do the same thing again. Despite being subsonic, you can still go incredibly fast and I find that the acceleration in a straight line is superb compared to most other subsonics out there. Even if you don't get any kills during the initial run, you basically forced the other players to loser energy as they try to notch the missiles making it easier for your team to take them out. In ground RB this thing can be a monster. The only thing holding it back are other idiot A-6 pilots who don't know how to use guided munitions or think that they're flying an A-10 or the SU-25 instead and get shot down within the first 5 seconds of spawning, which ends up making you one of the only things flying in the match so everyone is on the lookout for you. You have to play it smart and not dive in straight.

I totally agree with you. Is a wonderful plane. I play a lot in ground RB the plane is a monster I usually get 3-5 kills planes, thanks and drones but you need to know how to fly it. I usually get to 5000 meters above the battlefield and i bomb from above. I find it very useful one of the best planes for Close air support.

Even in Sako's video he gets a few 3.5/4km kills. 9L is an amazing missile and stomps all over the performance of 60m comparatively. Giving a plane 3 or 4 at this BR is an incredible advantage.

Got it and love it in ground RB. Get to 5-6km, put a .5 to 1 sec fuse and it will kill plenty. Just don't get blinkered and keep your height fucus on SPAA first then assist ground forces afterwards. 2 9ls and 5 gbu👍

It's hard but a good way to be flare/chaff resistant as an SPAA is to just skip locking and hand guide the missile

The A-6E community rarely used LGB operationally. The AN/AAS-33 had mediocre resolution, especially in humid air, and a laser that liked to overheat while the carrier magazines simply did not usually have the KMU kits to make up a GBU from the dumb bombs carried. The Navy was cheap back then. That said, they had some exotic weapons which other services did not typically use and these greatly leveraged the Intruders options, including the AGM-65E/F which gave it standoff precision attack, at night, about four years before the USAF got the D. Mostly a missile boat killer but with a 300lb warhead, it would put the hurt on anything smaller than an apartment building with a fairly decent nav-attack suite and a high resolution mapping radar tied to the AN/ASQ-155 bombing computer which could do some things others couldn't with regard to dropping on GMTIs and hitting obscured targets via RSP offset/beacons. Last of the analogue bombers where all system data and sensor integration was by the pilot and B/N. If you could shack in the Tadpole, on time, at night, in weather, through the threat, you were really good. Probably the biggest thing missing here are the ARMs. Wall to wall AGM-88 on the TRAM or paired AGM-45+78 on the earlier A/B jets. Made a world of difference to OPP when the Intruder could bring the heat to 350nm beyond the white water without the IFE tanker request needed for a 'both pylons today!' Hornet. Since the WT game is going to remain horribly imbalanced so long as battlefield ADV are matched against jets which have no performance or survivability penalties, operating above 10,000ft at near max gross, the next step has to be the introduction of surveillance radars to allow individual vehicles to get datalink notification of inbound threats and fixed site SAMs to force the air players back down within slant range of the guns and missiles. In a medium radar SAM environment, having jets that can squirt off a couple of 15nm ranged TOO shots or shots which can literally turn 270` to hit popup SP threats will come to be seen as a major necessity. And, lacking a dedicated F-105G or F-4G Weasel, for the Navy, that capability was resident in the A-6E and A-7E, cued by the EA-6B.

Well that was a hard reality check

The main problem I have with this thing is that because it has such massive spoilerons (spoilers for ailerons instead of them being built into the trailing edge) it has some really weird high speed flight performance. Like just flying in a straight line at high speed and roll, it'll kick the nose downwards for some reason. It makes higher speed maneuvering incredibly annoying because you try to pitch and roll at the same to time dodge but rolling completely negates your elevators. I like it as a bomb bus, but man this thing leans hard on the bus part of that. It fights you harder than most enemies do just trying to move the plane like any other.

I love the F-8 crusader, it has some flares and 4 aim-9d, i have a lot of fun with it! A-6e TRAM is a weird aircraft, a very easy target for enemy jets like mig-21 or f5c. It’s like a strike aircraft but it does not have atgm like a-10 or a-4, not that good in ground rb. But… IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL I LOVE THIS AIRCRAFT. Thanks for the vid, have a nice day !

It does fine in GRB. Just have to fly high and use those gbus. It's bomber not fighter. Every video out there everyone wants to use it as fighter and then say it's bad. Just like this guy did. 90% of my matchs I use it in I'm to high for enemy spaa and even fightets to notice.

I get 2-3 kills a game easy, but it’s such a bad plane. You have to head on, if someone is behind you, you’re dead if they have any skill, seriously random wing snaps

Isn't it supposed to have a radar too? As much as i like this plane I'll wait what version the tech tree will get; but the real question is: would u take this over the A-10?

I'm pretty sure it only has a ground radar but those haven't been implemented in-game yet.

For me the a6 along with something like the su25k are the bane of my existence at br9 to 10 Butttttt Then again all other nations have to suffer from Waller warriors at top tier while USA can just have experienced ones at br11,3 and above Welll experienced does not always mean smart tho

when u buying a6e ur buying for it's TGP low BR and armaments. honestly the 2 only nations that has tgp for cas at 10.0 are only UK and French but these nations only have very limited armaments 2 GBUs max probably. u are not buying a6e for grinding plane tree. if u want to do that use a fighter plane. hope in ur next review u will make different evaluation for type of aircraft because they are different and have different purposes.

I'm sorry but I gotta ask if we're flying the same plane here. In regards to the gimbal limits of the camera, the A-6E is perfectly fine for dropping laser guided bombs from high altitude in level flight. Hell I'm often in a slight climb after dropping my bombs and still have no problem guiding in the bomb with the TV camera. I'm really not sure why you were doing ridiculous dives in your videos, unless you were simply assuming it had the same limitations as it did on the dev server?

How do you bomb w the gbu’s? I binded my gun stabilization and the laser but the bombs still don’t hit target. It’s like they don’t even try. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong.

@@chefboyarb you also need to have a bind for dropping the gbu. You’ll find it in the weapons sections.

The Pod issue has been fixed since christmas.

If you compare this thing to the su-25, you will see that it actually is quite good comparatively in both AA and CAS roles. Yes, the su-25 goes faster, but interestingly enough, the TRAM almost out-accelerates the Su-25 at lower speeds. 3x or 4x aim9l are unbelievably better than 2x 60m. Targeting pod for bombs, while "bugged", is also insanely better than what the su-25 gets for target identification and actually hitting things on the ground. Think about it.. su-25 can carry a couple of CCIP rockets or dumb bombs, has NO thermals, almost NO zoom on it's targeting camera. Like, the difference in effectiveness between ~6-10 laser guided bombs backed by a great zoom and good thermals vs what the Su-25 has is massive - absolutely massive. And this will *only* get better if the gimbal "bug" on the TRAM is fixed. All of this for 0.3 difference in BR? Not to mention that 10.0 rate almost always gets downtiered to 9.7 due to the huge amount of SU-25/SU-25k that are playing at 9.7. And you are guaranteed not to face the tomcat/MLD/etc... spam at 11.3. Honestly, you make logical points in the video, but compared to similar planes like the su-25 and even the a-10, the TRAM is almost OP in both AA and especially CAS roles.

Sidewinders past 1st gen should not be targeting the sun. Gaijin needs to knock that off with Sidewinders past the very very first ones.

Man this review was really misleading with the TRAM rear gimble, I've managed to do plenty of overfly level bombing runs with plenty of room for the pod to keep locked onto the enemy tank. the only time you could possibly lose lock is if you pitch up way to high for the pod to lose track

jesus christ 10.0 looks like a su25 vs everyone else battle, no wonder if you dont have russian players with it, while the enemy has them, you are dead before you even exit spawn. this litterally happens so much in 10.0 battles especially for usa ground that its the main reason im looking for a cas plane that can also hit planes hard

The tram can drop guided bombs at level flight, I’ve never had an issue with the laser losing track. I’ll fly level at 6km and not have any issues even climbing while tracking

if your grinding russia rn i highly suggest the mig 21smt with a talisman, got to the mig 29 in like three days from that plane simply bc almost every match is at your br and you are an objectively better aircraft than most other things you fight, a10s and trams are awesome to fight once you figure out the gsh 23

Right now it isn't a good choice anymore, after the flare updates the AIM9-L is useless, 90% of the time it will go for flares, making it literally useless. Go for F5C or the F4S

To start it of, nothing with 30g missiles should be below 10.3 anyway. Let me elaborate about the intruder further. The plane is faster than the a-10 and has the ability to carry 4 aim-9ls while it can be downtiered to 9.0 with planes that have no way of protecting themselfes (could be said about any plane below 10.3 with 30g missiles....lookin at you a10a, su 25). now of course one could argue that you dont have a gun and have to give up a aim-9l to carry a gunpod. you still have 3 aim-9ls sice you already have flares and chaff. it has guided munitions and a thermal cam with "relatively" low resolution ( its better res than the tech tree a-10a ). Now of course the guided bombs arent perfect and you have to keep the lock (you can still dumb drop them). So i say they put it at 10.3 or 10.7. (id rather say 10.3 cus youd get matched against mig 29s and f16 in air rb and i wouldnt go that far). in exchange it gets mavericks (yes it could carry mavericks, or at least one version of the intruder could) so it has a chance agains ground units and sams in groun rb. id give it the agm65B so the tv guided one since you can find targets easier with the targeting camera. and to those crying about "BuT ThEn It wOnT pErFoRm aS gOoD aGaInSt other PlAneS iN air RB" its a grond striker, not a fighter. 3 aim 9Ls are good enouth a10a late is good too and is way slower (yes im aware it turns better, stop crying). Anyway Happy new year all of you ;)

If you aren't something with flares above 9.0/9.3 you are basically fucked, either they should give more stuff flares to balance out the game or decompress, the game is not historical or logical anyways so whats the big deal? (I do love bullying premium players in my Mig21's and Mirage 3E tho, they are so bad!)
