Yes and no, I'm not sure specifically for Tekken 8, but it's more like a forced drive rush. There will still be slow characters, can't wait for ganryu to get announced in 5 years

The only real reason for me personally to play Tekken 8 is to see the Ghost thing. Having an AI learn your moveset and eventually learn to kick your ass is not only really cool, but helpful as it can help you find counters to your own playstyle and improve it overall.

It wasn't really that smart in demo. For example: once I stopped doing some of the things my ghost learnt from me, the ghost never stopped doing that and continued to do the same damn thing which was easily readable for me.... Maybe they will improve the AI in future with patches, but I'm not sure...

​@@stanislavchugunov I had a different experience. Granted, i've been playing Jin since T4, but once i locked in with all his new tools my Ghost copied it effectively and actually started beating me. It did seem to glitch out a couple times though. Started doing weird stuff with the "Special style" and would become super predictable and easy to beat for several rounds

Soulcalibur is basically ‘Tekken with swords’. There is a difference in mechanics and inputs, but the 3D aspect works practically the same. You block, sidestep, and switch up attacks (but without ring outs, which is a darn shame). T8 in particular will remind you of using Critical Edges in the Heat Smash, but only once. Yoshimitsu carries over in both games and the easy character tier lists are everywhere now. My advice is find one just complex enough and fun to use. Better than having a simple character you’re good at but without the fun.

After Mortal Kombat, Smash, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, DBZ Fighter I only wanna play Tekken and some Smash Bros. T8 already seems to be the best fighting game to date. Great practice mode, great free unlockable rewards, great customization, fun game modes not taking itself too seriously which feels fresh in gaming today

Put ripped jeans and a leather jacket on anything and you've got yourself a Tekken character.

I'm loving it. I was always bad at Tekken, but the tools the game gives you to learn are great. I recommend it if you're on the fence. It's easier to me than airdashers for sure

it was a wierd video! someone that never liked tekken tell me should i buy the game or not

I'm nearly halfway done with this video and all I can say is... This video feels like its made by someone who is only making the video cause they feel obligated to do it and that they honestly would rather be doing literally ANYTHING else than doing a review for Tekken 8. It feels especially bad since I've missed out on both Betas and would have LOVED for a chance to try out Tekken 8 early. None of these opinions in this video feel valid or even worthy of consideration since repeatedly he keeps saying he's lower level so Heat mechanics don't matter, that he's pretty uninterested overall and doesn't care about it either way. It's like...Thanks, I guess? I know he said said it from the start that this would be a more casual review, but for me it's like...yeah...not a fan. 6:58 - What they said: "I kinda wish they would stop focusing on the Mishima bloodline for a bit..." What I heard: "I wish this was a game that is not Tekken." It's like saying, "I wish they would stop focusing on Psycho Power..." for Street Fighter or "I wish they would stop talking about That Man for a bit..." in Guilty Gear. It's like...what? I feel like this game, like Guilty Gear, is ending all major story points that have been ongoing for years and its so goddamn exciting to see. And just for someone to make a video and not even do an once of research about the story (like how on earth could you make a T8 without Kazuya with how T7 ended? The Mishima conflict and Jun's appearance is why I am actually excited about the game when I never actually played Tekken seriously either) and still feel confident enough to give an opinion on it worthy of a video leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I used to be a fan of this channel, but lately I just feel like I'm better off watching other people (and it's not just this video). The last video I watched was on Grandblue Fantasy Versus' Free Edition and I didn't even finish that since the last few minutes was just someone complaining incessantly about the same thing over and over and over again without adding anything new information or presenting a different/interesting take. Maybe the other videos are better, but after this...I think I'll unsub instead and move on. I know someone will say, "Then why comment? Why say anything if you can't say anything nice?" It's because feedback is feedback even if its negative and it can be useful to know. Or not. Take it or leave it. Besides, at the end of this video, even when he got excited about the training mode, he still had to be pessimistic and negative about the online mode and shit on the Betas, and its like, "How can you criticize something that you haven't even tested yet?" I just don't know. But yes, a negative comment for a negative video seems fitting in my book.

While I understand what you're getting at, I'm deeply amused that you compared the Mishima thing to M.Bison when Ryu, the actual main character of Street Fighter, has absolutely nothing to do with M.Bison *at all*. Now, I can't speak for the people who complain about the Mishima plot, as I have not actually experienced it for myself, but as I understand it the complaint is "if you're not related to the mishima plotline in some way then you don't get a story for this game", which may or may not actually be the case. For Street Fighter, it's stuff like Zangief becoming R.Mika's mentor, Honda opening a bath house, or Zeku handing over the reins of the Bushinryu style to Guy and laying the groundwork for Strider. It's not a lot, but the characters do have their own stories outside of the main plotline, regardless of how well they're handled... (Cough, cough, Satsui no Hado, cough cough Nikalli cough). Maybe Tekken has that too, but I don't hear the same complaints from the Street Fighter side of things.

I am a new fighting game player, the first one I ever played was the kung-fu panda platform fighter.😂 I played smash bros for a while but my first non platform fighting game was mk11. I started playing mk11 a few months ago and then bought mk1. I am loving mk1 so far. I have never played tekken. Gonna try to buy it.

It doesn't have regional pricing and barely runs on my pc, so even though I'm interested in it it's gonna have to be a pass unfortunately

i usually play fighting games local with friends, so good online, while nice to have, isnt the thing i care the most about in my fighting games

So what I got from this is that you haven’t played that much Tekken so you can’t compare it to the other Tekken games well Nothing aginst you Tekken just isn’t ur thing like u said I’m more of a any fighting game guy I feel like the more experience I have with different games the better I’ll get at the rest and so far it’s working

I bought the deluxe version in hopes Anna Williams is 1 of the 4 DLCs coming so fingers crossed I will highly be disappointed if she's not the in first 4 LILI is my 2nd main so I guess I'll just play her till then

Tekken 8 has AMAZING online. Objectively the best Tekken online experience there ever was. And it is not even close. Old Tekken had 72ms of delay. Tekken 8 has 32-34ms delay when I play with my buddy. It is in a completely different league than Tekken 7 in terms of online connection.

I've played Tekken since T2 and I've only played T6 online. It was pretty bad because I was playing on shitty cable internet. I now have fiber so I may actually buy T8 but I want to know what online is like even with good internet.

I'm personally kinda tired of this new trend of every modern fighting game of make "everything rush down/super aggressive" so maybe t8 is my cup of tea now so I'm jumping in to this boat, also, game looks and sounds crazy good

​@@Zelldic27funnily enough, you still get plenty of time out matches between pros, the average match time seems to be fairly similar to Tekken 7 too. It is still a fairly defensive game

Me watching this despite having never played a Tekken game:

in the few matches weve seen of top level players in tekken they have almost exclusively used heat as a pressure tool to get plus frames and access to stronger moves in heat mode. I do also hope that it doesnt just become a combo thing, but I believe its highly likely that wont happen.

I'm gonna be honest, i think UNI 2 is gonna be my fighting game of the season. picked it up yesterday and i've been finding so much in it in terms of combos and new characters i like that i think i'll skip Tekken for a bit. Never really been a Tekken guy either just because it's way too hard for me but also UNI 2 gives you the season pass for free if you buy it before like march 15th or something so it was absolutely a day 1 purchase for me.

Do you think every player wants to immediately go into online with little to no guidance having no idea wtf they are doing and loose over and over? no they want some kind of structure and guidance which well done single player can offer best. Single player is how you get new players in the door. It's why smash is the most successful fighting game out there and It's why many of my friends are playing street fighter and actually made it all the way to platinum after like six months.

Biggest criticism for Tekken 8 is that there are like no game modes to choose from online. Just 1v1 for another 8 years, will only spend a few silly hours in Tekken Ball

Bull. Good netcode is open source and free. There's no excuse not to include it and use ancient tech like T8 insists. It's a solved problem, and has been for years. Only Harada and crew's stubbornness stands in the way.
