    @@AliexFolgueira I agree. These YT videos are for a specific target audience. A commercial video will only highlight perceived positive characteristics or specifics to a general, maybe uninterested, audience. I have never seen a kayak commercial on network TV. I search the KZread videos to hopefully find true end user experiences, not the sales pitch from the manufacturer. However, a company giving out a few demonstration models for review on KZread, is a money incredibly well spent in advertising.Thank you Aliex. Keep them coming!

    That seat for sure needs work. I took the TopWater 106 PDL out for a demo and that lower bar on the chair was digging in to my lower back. Other people say they have placed a pool noodle over the bar but I don’t think you should have to do that with a higher end Kayak. That seat needs to be made more comfortable 👍 Great job Aliex

    @@AliexFolgueira since it is brand new for me I probably don't notice that part as much. My complaints are 1. No paddle placement options. It either blocks the rudder handle or the cup/rod holder (will be buying the lunch box paddle park) and 2. No real front storage hatches other than the large front hatch. No side pockets etc. I guess I will have to buy the under seat storage and the behind the seat storgae pack option.

    That double U hull is very stable but it is draggy. The Predator has a more streamlined hull. That means less drag and more speed. If you have a more streamlined hull you have somewhat less primary stability but by having the sponson type sides it will have good secondary stability. The hole on the bottom on the top water past the fish finder going back also acts to increase drag. The water is going to try to follow and fill that gap. More drag. But it is stable in the water. The faster you go the more drag generally.

  • @AliexFolgueira

    Yup predator faster, more efficient less stable

  • @AllTheHobbies
    @AllTheHobbies5 жыл бұрын

    I think they will tell you that the stability you gain from the hull design does cost a little speed. Its not surprising that it is a little slower. Personally I would rather go a little slower and have less chance of tipping so thats an easy trade off.

    The seat is the weak point on this boat for sure but the cost savings more than makes up for it. I mean if Old Town CAN make a more comfortable seat for the same price then great but you cant expect it to be comparable to boats that cost $600-1000 more. Heck I could get it custom upholstered for a fraction of that. LOL

    it's exactly the same hull design as the Predator which you kept saying in other videos was an easy flip? Now it"s a stable platform? The truth is that whether you flip on either version of the predator/TW depends on you, your weight, and the conditions your out in. if a rogue wave comes your way and you're asleep/distracted and maybe heavy/overweight, you're gonna flip. Same in a Hobie or whatever. The basic stability of the hull needs to meet a certain level and all the predator/topwater have it, but it's not the most stable Kayak out there, but its faster than the deigns that have more stability, ie the very wide fishing kayak designs that cost a significant lot more.

    I have made videos, the cost is only time, if you have cameras/computers...you got the yak for free don't kid yourself or try to delude the viewers. However I liked the yak experience analysis as I was curious how it would handle offshore. At icast the old town rep stated that the 120 was more stable than the predator. The 120 is built for the greatest stability where as the pred is built for decent stability and speed. Currently a boat is either very stable or very fast, but not both

    Wrong! First of all this video was made based on several trips I took with this boat, hundreds of dollars in gas, bait several hours of edit, lost and broken gear. Nop you are wrong it is not only time and even if it was only time, my time is worth a lot of money, the kayak is NOt FREE try asking a company for a free kayak just because, see how it goes. So when you made your videos you borrow your friend camera and sd card and editing computer and pc? Did you have your friend also edit your video for free?

    John Griffin Are you a disgruntled 50 year old who failed as a KZreadr or a 9 year old who doesn’t understand how KZread works? No one said he was forced to make these videos. His opening was referring to people commenting on other videos accusing him of bias due to being sent kayaks by companies. Aliex explained that it helps offset the cost of making multiple videos per week when a company is able to assist in getting him a vessel. Maybe you should do an analysis on your own life and figure out why you are trying to start arguments for absolutely zero reason or merit. Have a nice day child
