Great video as always, man. Question for you--do you have any kind of trick to hooking or fishing your cut bait in such a way it doesn't immediately get stolen? I have been using chunks of cigs (sometimes frozen) and many times I feel the bite but the fish is gone and so is my bait. I'm using a bird of prey jig and following your advice to let the fish hit it, avoid setting the hook, then just start reeling. The problem is the fish hits it and then is gone with the bait. Sometimes I know it's getting triggered on the way down, but sometimes I have to believe it's snapper too (given that whenever I hook up it actually is a snapper lol). Any thoughts? Thanks again.

Hmmm…frozen bait can be a bit tricky. I try to use the head pieces if possible and stick the hook through the eye and out of the forehead. Tails are also much tougher and a good place to hook.

Love the videos man. I have the Lynx for shallow water/flats fishing and that thing is my absolute favorite hobie and I’ve pretty much had all of them. I do like structure fishing for sheepshead and mangrove and that’s the only thing the Lynx doesn’t do as well as my outback did. I’m looking at the salty pdl as a option for a second kayak purely for structure fishing. Would you recommend that or any other kayak under 12 feet? I want to try old town, that instant reverse I would think helps a lot for structure fishing.

Nick any advice on the best placement of the WIlderness HD on the PDL 120? I can't seem to get it down pat on long stretches of beach. Tried your method with the wheels under and attached to PDL drive but also didn't have success with that.

If I was going offshore to go Snapper fishing I would prefer the Bigwater so I could cover water faster. The Lynx is pretty slow. But for quick trips off of the beach in calm weather to troll for Pelagics I would take the Lynx. It’s very easy to get across the beach and it makes quick trips enjoyable.

@@NavarreKayakFishing agreed as a Lynx owner I think Lynx is great as a quick trip kayak and it really is the best for flats fishing. You can get super shallow and the stability is great for sight casting especially at that low weight it makes me want to go out more knowing how easy it is to get in and out of a truck bed.
