I must say something, Warriors are a bad representation of action Games. They don't have premade combos and you have to do them with individual attacks allowing to create your own. The Movesets in 3 Hopes give very little variety what means Warriors have no playstyle that the player can adopt, It's attack all the time. t The Game has no bosses or actual levels unlike the mayority of action games, Who give you bosses that aren't a Damage sponge and levels that doesn't are Plains that play the same. The Game also has Next to no enemy variaty and you don't have to use diferent tactics to beat any if them, in most action games you have to learn to read every enemy and usually there are more enemys attacking you at once (no, 90% of enemys in Warriors games are filler, only the ones with Shield are real enemys) do you also need to learn Crow control. They are also way harder and have a way deeper technical skill cap than Warriors what isn't a Big deal for the mayority and if It's for you you already knew everything I just said but I think I should say it regardless. In a nutshell, Warriors looks REALLY BAD in comparison to the mayority of other action games. So if you didnt like this Game, that doesn't mean you don't like action Games.

@@jeremydean1718 Yep, never go into a Musou game expecting the typical "Action game" stuff! It's always been it's own shit and did WELL doing this! It's why people still buy their games (MOSTLY! Some of the entries in the Dynasty Warriors have their issues!) Will always love the Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors! But their "entry into the Breath of the Wild and 3Houses WAS good!" Hopefully we get a FE Warriors that does the entire FE Series rather then just "three" like the first one did! 3Hopes was and still is fun

Honestly, I'm so mentally burned out from Life Events(TM) that a version of 3H that requires no cognitive effort whatsoever may be just what I need.

Uh yep, I can't disagree with any of these points, as someone who loves both Warriors and Fire Emblem, this looks and feels like a MUCH better merging of the games than FEW was, for those who were concerned about that. Warriors vets are probably gonna harp on the lack of moveset diversity but I think the characters personal twists on each style is going to fill the gap quite nicely.

Really interesting and informative video. I cannot stand Warriors games personally so I'm almost definitely not buying this, but you explaining the quality of the story has made me want to watch a playthrough of it to see the story and writing, so thanks. Glad to see you preemptively trying newer types of FE content so you won't be stranded when the HHM playthrough ends.

Bicken I'm still confused. Mekka on a horse didn't tell me if buying this game is a pitfall or not. ...100% agree with the take on Byleth though. They legitimately felt terrifying. Added in the fact you know what the character is capable of as playing as them through three houses.

Thanks for the honesty! I loved 3h but I was skeptical of this after Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity happened.

While most warriors games are super easy, that game is stupid hard on the hardest mode

so we know Guy, Erk, Marcus, Priscilla and Ninian survive the next chapter

I'm not a fan of warriors games but I loved 3 houses and I love all my favorite boys and girls so I mostly play this bcuz of my 3 houses bias. The game play loop is pretty fun but im mostly in it for the story, the conversations, and seeing characters that never showed up in the first game.

Thanks man I'm really hyped for this I personally couldn't get into Byleth in Og 3H I think the biggest issue I had with him dude is he/she them whatever they don't have an ambition for themselves pretty much all the lords/mcs have some kinda big goal worldpeace revenge whatever fam and for me personally the time powers didn't help cause its like whatever mistake they made or bad things happened the time power could fix it and if not why but I have nothing but hey what do I know lol🤣

Honestly as someone who just got 4 hours in this game. I personally just don't find it as enjoyable as OG warriors. Which is weird because I usually enjoy musuo games. I choose Black eagles opposed to GD this time because of the wanting to separate Shez and Byleth. The thing is I like the story the prologue is dreadfully boring and by most of the combat fills stiff opposed to on warriors maybe it gets better but after playing PW4 a few months ago this isn't really doing it for me rn. I feel like it'll get there but because of tideous leveling system just makes it seem like a chore.

I hope you this means you played Three Houses proper first, cuz getting spoiled from this would kinda suck. That said, I feel like the story was better in what we saw of the demo than 3Houses. Except Blue Lions, the storyline was amazing.

I have. Three Houses is what got me back into the series after like 3 years of not playing.

1:28 I disagree, as someone who’s played through Three Houses Routes 3 times each, I absolutely despise the Pacing of the Prologue, it leads to an overall shallow Build Up to the War, and doesn’t serve anything in building up some sort of rapport between Shez and the other students.

I really don’t see how Three Houses was messy or anything plot-wise. Everything was very well explained and was comprised of top tier fantasy writing, with the few departures of normal fantasy is being very intentional As for this game, I don’t see why anyone would play this if not for the plot, as it’s definitely the best part about it and stands up there with the great writing of the original

@@Bicken that’s the joke we in the community make about them yeah, but they’re really not dumb or poorly handled at all. Hell they even have a ton more depth for the overall implications of their side of things than most people notice, and even more thanks to this game. If that’s the weirdest or messiest thing to you, that just makes the story look better lol

@@DavidHosey1 yeah I know it's not the worst part of three houses' plot, but it's the easiest to point and laugh at. Most of the problems with three houses are actually shared with early three hopes, like them rushing through Dimitri's redemtion arc or them sidelining characters that should have more agency. Overall I like both stories, but they're not without their flaws.

@@Bicken I guess, no story really is. But it still reaches the heights of top tier fantasy writing. For example Dimitri’s arc really isn’t rushed at all from most peoples’ perspectives, and the “sidelined” characters thing isn’t usually a problem, and for the couple of people where it is, they are far more important in other routes, since the route where they’re sidelined is meant to focus little to none on them. Mostly Rhea in AM from what I see

After Age of Calamity, I'm done with mindless braindead hollow excuse of engaging gameplay. Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition at least had fleshed out move sets that required the use of your full kit on the high difficulty content, and it didn't overemphasis stance breaking. This was an optional way to fight, not the end-all be-all of every encounter. I could only tolerate AoC because I'm obsessed with Zelda lore. I put hundreds of hours into three houses, but the story isn't nearly as compelling as the decades-long saga of the Zelda continuity. And even if I was, three hopes isn't a sequel in terms of lore, it's just a cheap 'what if'. It's a total waste of time, and after seeing a dozen reviews I've seen enough to know this is a pass.

As someone with a familiarity to Warriors Spinoffs and how they usually jive, I'ma tell you that this is going to be a great game for getting more actual Byleth characterization. Shez is starting strong but even our little taste and how openly Byleth is being advertised as such a major power, there's going to be a lot of Ashen Demon characterization, and they have a unique moveset so they're def gonna be playable.
