Good work at obtaining an S15! So the question that I have, is the one that usually seems to resurface when it comes to imports. That is, how legal is it?--(i.e. to own & run on U.S. streets, and what is required by cops and state inspectors). Is it possible today, to own it and for cops and smog experts to leave you alone enough to enjoy your dream? I am a former S14 owner; I eventually sold it, cause of all the legal fuss with getting a motor swap. Not only that, but I had everything I needed in my newly purchased Camaro anyway. Let me in on your thoughts. Enjoy your S15!

Regardless what happens with the US market the fact that the S15 is the last of its kind, the value will continue to appreciate. I own two S15's the offers I get for them is insane, best investment I've ever made thus far 😀

Just so you know buddy a Clean Low KM Miles Nissan Silvia S15 Turbo Spec R/Spec S cost a whooping $52,000AUD in Australia 🇦🇺 mate and the Nissan 200SX on Marketplace goes for 37K soo if you're OP in the video here saying get it as your first daily car then you're all fking stupid mate what you want is a good sporty cheap reliable quick car with tons of aftermarket mods parts like a Turbo 2JZGE RWD Lexus IS300 with WORK Wheels 👊💯

For me it's a different story I don't drive manual cars never learn how to but I do know my Japanese car's because I'm a mechanic from home who buy cars to fix them up before flipping it on FB Marketplace and I work in a Mechanic Workplace with 5 Car hoist mate. My point is I drive a Turbo Build 2JZGE RWD Lexus IS300 as my first daily car and it's an LSD Automatic Transmission which I like. I also love the Toyota Chaser JZX100 1JZGTE 2.5L Turbo & Toyota Mark II & Toyota Aristo V300 Vertex Edition Auto which also has a 2JZGTE 3.0L Turbo Yamaha Block Engine makes more power cost less than the crappy 4 Cylinder Nissan Silvia S15 SR20DET Engine mate overall it's a better JDM Daily car that doesn't break the wallet while being a RWD JDM Car 💯🤷‍♂️

I just bought one a week ago, it has been my dream car for quite a while now and I finally found one at a more reasonable price for what I wanted. It's a white imported Spec R with full aero, plus a nice mint set of TE37's + HKS coilovers to go with it. I paid 35k which is roughly 10-15k lower than what a decent white Spec R is going for right now, but yeah, that's still a hefty price. The only catch is there's a little bit of rust around the back window and it could use a respray, however I've already gotten a really great price on a repair + full pearl white respray thanks to mates rates. I would definitely say the 35k was worth every cent, I'm in love with the car and will probably never sell it.

Jordan you’re right even houses in 2014/15 were $500k but now in 2023 $1 million plus. As far as S15 I Can’t afford it as prices for all cars are astronomical At the moment I’m looking at a 2014/16 WRX and they’re like $25-$35k for a car that was $39k BRAND New 😮 😊

It's hard to explain, I can do a straight swap for a 2014 M4, which is a far nicer car to drive overall but the kind of experience the S15 gives... I'd say yeah it's worth it! Keeping mine for a while.

Pretty sure it’s a 25 year import law not 24 in the US. Also you can still import cars less than 25 years old that are foreign to the states. But it’s an expensive & lengthy process.

in 1998, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued the 25 Year Rule. This allowed vehicles older than 25 years to be admitted into the country because they are “collectible”

From 2010-2017 I owned most of the major jdm cars multiple times I had 2 s15s both with under 150000kms and both cost less than $16k One was even a one owner car with full service history I just can’t justify paying over $30k for one That why I went out a bought an 86 It’s not as easy to get power out of but I do prefer driving a newer car

​@@Hype679 I got my S13 for $2400 in pieces in 2012. With a Sr20 Ret top and 15k in fresh goodies from a friend it was his dream build. I love it but I can't believe people pay these prices for a 90s car its not 30k good. People just can't chose there own path, bunch of followers. These Damm youtubers blow up all the good whips!!

I 100% agree with you ! Back in mid 2017 I looked at multiple s15s for around the 16-17k mark and they were all junk ! No way would I pay 60k for that same car ! I bought an fg xr6 turbo Instead a much nicer car , and only cost 16k at the time

Considering selling my 33 gtr to buy 2 s15’s. Also I sold my s15 for 13k 5 years ago 😅
