Due to the lockdown I've had to improvise a little. Today's video starring the MK3 Nissan Navara is filmed largely on my driveway. Apologies if its a little bit rubbish but I thought it was better than nothing. Also I don't know why my eyes are watering.
I'd be grateful if you could give the video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe if you're new to the channel!

Yes you should buy one. My uncle has a 2018 STX and he takes it hunting and hauls around dead goats with bullet holes along side heavy shotguns from the Aussie forests. He has done some modifications like a lift, Off Road Wheels and Tyres, Canopy, Bullbar etc. Its a car that is reliable and dependable. It also packs a lot of features for such a good price such as the 360 camera. If you want an NP300 Navara, Get one. You wouldn't regret it. Also don't forget that Mercedes Benz sells a nicer X Class in Australia. It is called the X350d and it has a 3.0L V6 Turbo diesel

can't beat the Hilux. Leaf springs support the weight of the chassis, take greater vertical weight, making them ideal for commercial vehicles. They also control axle damping. The chassis roll can be controlled more efficiently due to the high rear moment centre and wide spring base.

You can fit lockable fibreglass canopies to the back for greater security. Another good video, thanks.

I have been considering a pickup as my next car lately, mostly because I've had lots of various cargo ferrying needs during this Spring, from lawn mower to furniture. And from the looks of it, I may also have to pack a number of MTBs and camping gear in the future, so I've started to wonder if a pickup might be better choice over larger SUV. Also because larger SUVs here in Europe are nowadays just inflated estates, with no ground clearance or no capability of tackle much snow either. I have no objections for a 4x4 handling like a 4x4 because I think 4x4s are 4x4s and sports cars are sports cars, but the problem is that sometimes I need to drive 1 to 6 hours on reasonably good road before the actual adventure begins. And I'd appreciate if me or the other people on board weren't dead tired when we reach our destination. ;-)

I drive these everyday as I work for a independent nissan dealer and would take the auto over the manual everytime. Personally I find it terrible on the roads with the knobbly tyres and cornering isn't anywhere near as good as a car. As a farm vehicle or work very few match it if I'm honest and definitely get the 360 camera as they are a big beast. Reliability isn't as bad as people make out nor is the chassis bad as the press say as I see these in for recall quite a bit. Treat it well it will last as long as any other. Personally don't touch anything less than the 190 bhp model 😂😂

I have had mine since end of 2016. I’ve done 120,000 kms on mine. I’ve travelled around Australia in it. Very good car, it is quiet and comfortable on normal roads. The engine has enough power for overtaking. It’s a good car off road, the only main and big issue is driving it fast on gravel road, it hits bumps and jumps and when you are turning a corner it can catch you off guard and cause you to loose control, luckily I have learned to control it. Don’t really have any other complaints. Overall a very good car at a decent price.

Good video, I've got a d40 V6 navara had it from new the warranty runs out next February, having not had a recall for my chassis when I called in to Nissan to get a service kit I asked about chassis inspection he said you had better be quick if you dont get it booked in before the end of March you wont be getting it done. My Mrs has got more paint on her finger nails than my navara chassis has, they will be doing it make no mistake about that there warranty is long winded process service kit is a fortune (genuine) I will go back to a Toyota next time driven the np 300 there's no longevity in one for what I need it for for plus the difference is day and night compared to the V6. Good honest review but sorry Nissan no cigar.

Pickups make a lot of sense for any outdoor business, much easier to clean out than a van. The cabins, even on a basic one are far better than a van of the same generation, it was my misfortune to spend a few hours in the passenger seat of a two year old Transit, I swear it was designed to give chiropractors extra business and there were zero refinements above having a radio and a/c.

I have a 2017 Nissan Navara that is basically run as a car so light usage and mainly on motorways. At 30,000 the reverse went on the auto box. The service from Nissan was terrible and it took them 4 days to get them to look at the car. So I had to hire a car, which they refused to pay for. To cut a long story short after 6 weeks I finally got my truck back. I have had 2 VW Amaroks and the Nissan is better on fuel. On a slow drive back from Yorkshire it averaged 47mpg. The best that I ever got out of the Amarok was 35mpg. I would choose a Amarok over a Navara mainly due to the poor cabin storage in the Navara.

I believe the suspension compromise by Nissan was demanded by Mercedes during the design process, as they didn't want their premium customers' arses to be too unsettled by leaf sprung suspension. Except, as a consequence, the Navara hasn't sold as well to its core customer base, ie trades, farmers etc, because it can't carry as much weight. Utes are massively popular here in Oz, kind of the Australian sales equivalent of hot hatches in the UK. Young blokes all want a ute rather than a Golf GTi when they pass their test. Of the top ten selling new vehicles, utes usually comprise at least seven of them. The HiLux is consistently the best selling vehicle in Oz, with the Ranger not far behind. I have a company 2018 Triton 4x4 (L200 in the UK), and it's fine. Drives pretty well, has all the toys like Apple Carplay etc, and is surprisingly useful for moving stuff. We used to build car versions of utes until Holden and Ford packed up in 2015 & 2016. Look up the HSV Maloo for a properly bonkers pick up. A tuned 6.0 V8 engine with bugger all weight over the back wheels; I think the final version had around 570bhp. Ford did the FPV Pursuit, a turbocharged 4.0 V6 with similarly mental performance.

Very poor judgement by the speaker. I have a 2017 as a daily driver. I love it. There is absolutely no harsch ride and potholes are no problem. If there is havy cargo load on the back the ride quality because of the leaf springs is smoother obviously. I have tested the Ranger, Hilux and Amarok too but the Navara offers the best value and the best ride quality. It looks sharpest although. Inside it looks like a SUV instead of a lorry. Speakeewise: a single cab is unnecessary because the king cab is perfect to put a toolbox so that it doesn’t get stolen. One more thing: fuel consumption is 8 Liter/ 100 Km in city and 7 Liter overland. It goes up to 160 Km/h and hauling a 3 Ton boat is no problem at all with its 163 HP (Diesel). By the way I recommend the single turbo instead of the twin turbo version and manual gearbox because less can break and less wear so that it last for a long life. Nissan recommends a 30K inspection but to be honest, I don’t trust these French business leaders hence I do it every 20K to have less wear on the engine components.

The Mercedes X Class isn't simply a Nissan. None of the body panels (none!) or glass are shared and they actually modify the chassis too. Stronger and stiffer with a 70mm wider track. The springs and dampers are different and tuned for a more "Mercedes" ride. Don't know whether the larger engine version was in the UK market but the 3.0L V6 diesel is straight-up Mercedes from the rest of their car and commercial range.

With LR abandoning the commercial market pickups are tool of choice with my farming friends. Hilux and Isuzu seem to be the most popular round me in east Cumbria but the 3.2 litre Ford Ranger is the coming choice especially if you have the compulsory Ifor Williams trailer in company.

I had a 2018 Tekna auto with the truck cab plus soft close and a pet friendly liner. Absolutely loved it! Ran it through my company for 12 months then sold it and, over that 12 months, taking into account the corporation tax relief plus that VAT back on the fuel it cost me precisely nothing over the 12 months and 10,000 miles of motoring. I now have a new RR Vogue (the full fat version) but I still think for the money and overall package, the Navara is the better car, if only one can see past the image thing. My wife would definitely not drive it. Enough said. I have found myself looking on Autotrader at new ones even though I have the RR Vogue sitting on the driveway. For the price of a Vogue I could buy almost (nearly) four Nissan Navara’s and the the RR is definitely not 4x better. I loved my 12 months of ownership partly because it was care free, worry free motoring. I could park it anywhere and be almost certain it will be where I left it when I returned. The same can’t be said of a new RR. Plus, just try asking your RR dealer for a 5 yr 100k mile warranty! They would laugh you out of the showroom. Thanks for the reviews. Stay safe.

Especially now. A couple of weeks back I was in Sheerness on business and saw the rows upon rows of imported vehicles awaiting buyers. I was interested in the VW and Toyota pickups awaiting non existent buyers and was told I could buy one and get one free! Now that’s a hard to resist offer. It shows just how hard times are for the motor trade perhaps with the exception of fully electric cars plus some Porsche’s which never seem to loose value ( the 911’s).

Pickup trucks are cool regardless of the way they ride. I bought an 18 month old shape Mitsubishi L200 double cab which was a Cyprus import for £15K back in 2003 and it was piss poor on fuel it nearly bankrupted me but it was sad to finally see it go 5 years later. I like the new Ford ranger with the body kit and it's just huge and looks the bollocks.

Nice looking truck but engine comes with a host of problems It’s rated as a 3.5 tonnes tow capacity with a timing chain only designed for two tonnes. Any fuel pump issues means removing the engine as it’s driven off the back off the engine right up against the bulkhead and plenty more issues with that engine

I know a guy who drives his 2015 model 2 miles across fields one way and 2 miles back every single day for the past five years never goes out the farm boundary sounds as sweet as a nut and starts on first turn of key. I'm in Australia, and pickup trucks are - by far - the most popular car sold here. Roads aren't great here, there's a lot of space (so diesels make sense) and, I dunno, they suit the national character? I came close to getting a Hilux, but wound up getting a Freelander 2. Just couldn't quite go the whole truck thing, myself.
