That red & black interior with the red exterior goes so well IMO.
My dad got a 2012 XF-S saloon (all black and nice cream leather) and he is very happy with it. The car has run over 223000 km (over 138000 miles) and still going strong - no reliability issues yet. He previously had many BMW 3 and 5 series, but now he preferes the Jaag! I'm always pretty excited when I'm allowed to drive it. It is a really special car.

Partly because of this video, I bought myself an XF Sportbrake. Its a 64 plate , 3l V6 XF S, Portfolio spec and Black Edition. Pretty much identical to the car you have here but in black. The only concession to the black are the chrome Jaguar side details and the rear logo. Its an absolute beast, so thanks for the video.
I would have to park it in my front room just so I could gaze at it all the time.

I’ve had my 2014 one since it was just over a year old and *every time* I walk up to it I love how it looks and am excited to drive it.
Love Jags and I think the older XF looks much better. The New Jags could carry any badge they're getting so anonymous looking. And for the money I'd rather buy a Jag than pay more for a new Ford Fiesta. . Nice car that one you have . 😎
Re: lack of seat travel. When it reaches it's forward limit, try holding the adjuster knob forward for more than 2 seconds. If it continues it's travel there may be a sensor fault. If it moves for half a second, it's in it's inch-by-inch mode. It's a function to prevent the driver being crushed against the steering wheel. Maybe it's a response to the demo graph of the typical Jag owner? (60+ and portly)
Great review! As a past owner of the 3.0D saloon, I can agree the costs to maintain are not any higher than anything comparable and they are very reliable and a great drive. Only additional expense you didn't mention that potential purchasers should be aware of is the tendency for the rear discs and pads to need changing around every 25k miles, or sooner if you live in Milton Keynes with all the roundabouts! Go to a specialist rather than a main dealer and save a bundle, still using good quality manufacturer equivalent parts.

It’s a truly beautiful car Matt. I had seen it on your website and was drooling over it 🤤. Even though I’m 57 I really liked the red and black leather seats, which look both sporty and rich. Thanks for another great review.
Good review. I had one of these for four years and 100,000 miles. Loved it and would agree with your comments about reliability. Mine never let me down and was every bit as reliable as the two Audi A6 I had before it
Beautiful car. I have an XFR and the X250 XF is definitely the one to go for. Jaguar kept them in production for over 7 years and perfected it like a fine wine.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this review. Indeed the last two minutes could of been aimed directly at me. I’m in the market for a sport brake around the 12-13k mark. Thanks for putting my mind at ease regarding reliability issues being helped with preventative maintenance. Subscribed 👍🏼
I currently have an XF, and love it, having had BMW's in the past, which scared the life out of me with it binging and bonging for the least little thing. And I have only spent on servicing and brakes. The BMW's had sensors replaced and other parts replaced. Much prefer the Jag to drive
I owned two XF's the old 3.0V6 and the 2018 2.0 - I loved the 3.0 and sold the 2.0 within 6 months. I loved the mid range overtaking power of the V6 it was effortless and pulled like a train. Tech was the only thing that let it down as a bit dated.
Owned the same model shown now for a few years and have loved it. No major issues, great form long and short trips etc. Did change the wheels down to the 19" ones to smooth out the ride as the 20" wheels are just too thin and easy to damage. Found all the old wheels were already slightly buckled due to potholes. One massive thing I was surprised you missed was the rear self levelling air suspension. This why it took so long to come out after the saloon as it was redesigned to be a dedicated estate rather than a saloon with a big bum. Did bring me some joy when speaking to guy who just brought a brand new £80k+ BMW 7 series, who was bragging about how it was one of the only cars with air suspension and how he would never go back now. So just lifted the boot cover and told him "yeah its nice, only paid 20k for mine though" ha ha.
I’m military serving overseas but when I’m back I’m buying from this guy. Top videos, please keep them coming. FYI BMW 640 Gran Coupe is what I’ll be looking for😉
Absolutely beautiful car, I love shooting brake cars, the merc one looks sweet too. This will be sold quickly ! I want one 🤩
I have this car in this colour in the 2.2 R Sport sport break in Italian racing red. Everthing you just said was true and backed up all the reasons why I told the Mrs I'm not getting rid of it! 45mpg on the motorway, 27 round town. Looking back for a 2nd look is a daily thing when it's clean, everyone comments on it! It's really got under my skin and I love it! Even looked after me when the tyre blowout on a cold icey Morning! Top video!
Beautiful looking car and on my list. I’m hanging on for twelve months and hopefully pick up one of the new 2021 sport brakes used with the tech upgrade...even more beautiful, especially in grey or electric blue with the black pack and panoramic roof. I also like the fact that although it’s not rare, the Jag just stands out as being a little more exclusive than your Audis and BMWs which are seemingly everywhere.
Great review and I couldnt agree more with you! 6month owner of a '14 saloon S myself. After having had mustangs and other coupes all my life I needed a more sensible dad-taxi, the XF-S is special enough and still a great allrounder to warm my enthousiast heart, even a diesel.
We have a 2014 2.2d saloon XF and it’s been ultra reliable. We have had it for 4 years, and like you said there were a couple of warning lights appearing. We replaced the battery and all the warning lights disappeared. We had an issue with the wiring loom of the rear view camera, but it was an easy £30 fix for a new loom kit. Love the reviews, love your honesty!
A Jaguar is a special car. Thanks for a great review as per!
I would compare the BMW 5 series with a secretary, the Jaguar XF is the hot as hell Secretary

Sat behind one in traffic this week, a very good looking car indeed
Enjoyed watching. I bought same car over 2 years ago. Love it. I noticed you didn’t have the heated steering wheel option that I thought was a gimmick but when cold I use all the time. Only annoying thing is the 20” wheels don’t like pot holes and buckle. I have a tyre that keeps gradually deflating due to a flat spot, that also causes a slight vibration in the steering wheel. I get about 34mpg generally and up to 40 on a decent run.
Great Video. I had the saloon with the same colour and specification. Absolutely loved it!
Really looked forward to this video as soon as I saw it on your Instagram post, beautiful car and you're clearly a fan, Keep the great work 👍

Beautiful cars, rather have this over any German car. Looks stunning, sporty while classy. I remember going in a workmates xf sv8 when he first bought it few years back, truly awesome cars.
Think I saw this car for sale towards back end of last year and fell in love it is a beautiful car and at the mo saving to upgrade my insignia for one of these in this spec. Love it. Great video.
Another great review Matt , you have a great job at times. Nice car .
When it first came out I was lent one to go to a Jaguar event in France . Not a huge fan of estates but was super impressed and the personnel running the event were very interested in my review of it .
Once again, a great review. You have managed to review all the cars I am looking at replace my currently VW cc. The A7, XJ or one of these, hopefully at some point this year I will take the plunge and actually purchase one. Thanks a lot for the reviews, keep up the good work.

A work of art....and the usual quality review!
I have one of these. Exactly the same, model, colour, year, engine and trim. I think it is the best car I have ever owned and agree with everything he says. It is all you would expect from a Jaguar. I didn't but it because I needed the space, I bought it because I think it looks absolutely stunning. I still do and I still look back and admire it as I walk away and have had it well over a year! That says it all.
These are great cars, I had a 2013 2.2 litre model I bought in 2016 and sold last year. Nothing significant went wrong with it, although it did want to be serviced regularly. An unexpected bonus was that most parts were pretty cheap to replace (at least when compared to it's German rivals). Great review!

Great review as usual and what a beautiful car! Thanks.
I’m a huge estate/ avant / router fan and currently have a c250 but I think you’ve convinced me to look at the XF, estate of course. Not a fan of the red seats but the wheels are gorgeous.Greta video yet again. 👏👏👍🏼
Absolutely love the sportbrake. Great looking alternative to a 5 series
I have a late 2013 3.0 litre XF Sportbrake Premium Luxury, which I have owned for over 4 years. Apart from regular servicing, replacement parts - tyres, brake pads etc., it has never given me any major problems. It's comfortable, handles well for a big car, fast when you need it and spacious enough to carry 2 large dogs in the boot. And, as you say, a good looking car that stands out in the crowd...what's not to like!
other than the red seats, it's awesome looking.
I have one of these in black with the cream interior and every optional extra bar the tv tuner. You're right about the interior theatre, later models seem to have gone a bit more German. I also prefer this model for the way the bonnet goes all the way to the grill...
You're right, there is something about the xf that is missing from the BMW and audi, it looks awesome in that colour, great video 👍
I reckon this is the best looking car in its class. My neighbour has one and I hope to buy it from him. I love the soft and supple leather seats and dashboard. The performance on tap is ample. It feels special inside which can't be said with the German rivals in its class.
I have the exact car sitting in saloon form, Took a deposit on it six weeks ago and still waiting on it being collected. Sold my 335d a few weeks ago and decided to use the Jag till it gets picked up. Absolutely awesome car, super comfortable, amazing on fuel and a nice bit of punch. That Italian racing red is a beautiful colour too.
Beautiful colour, the seats are supreme 👌🏼. Good review, thanks 👍🏼

I bought my first XF S in 2017 and it was written off for me by a driver at a cross junction (I only owned it for 6 months!). Since then, I've gone on to own an A8, IS250, S80, A5...but nothing ever came as close to the XFS. Happy to say I now have an XF S again :D

I think you've just persuaded me! Looking for a fast but practical estate car and have been torn between a Skoda Octavia VRs and this. The Skoda is probably the sensible choice with lower tax and cheaper insurance but this just looks so much more special.
Didn't expect the red leather interior but still a great car. Love it although I am biased. My in law had a 5 series and an e class and he is adamant this is the best of the three as is had the sportiness of the bmw but has comfort similar to the merc. It was the best of both.
You are correct about the newer model interiors. I've had a 2010 and 2014 XF-S and both were streets ahead of the equivalent newer versions inside. The new design is also less attractive. Seems to me that Jag went mass market with it to attract 5 series owners and it therefore suffered.

Morning Matt my dad's had xf's in both variants since he took early retirement he's had two sportbrakes one was the 2.2 diesel, the current one 2.5 R sport (2litre engine)loves them to bits however as you were saying reliability isn't what you'd expect while nothing major has gone wrong its the niggling bits that just take the gloss out of owning one, it's just part of jaguar ownership i guess.
