Should You Buy A High Performance Surfboard? Channel Islands Fever Review In Everyday Waves

Спорт

The Channel Islands 'Fever' has attracted a lot of hype since its release. Sold as an 'all rounder', for waves ranging from 2ft to 8ft+, from mushy beach breaks, to pumping JBay...I wanted to see how it goes in the everyday waves that you and I surf.

This was actually incredibly helpful. Showing the Board working, or not working And the kind of waves that it truly needs

Great video. I'm in the process of ordering a custom Fever, thinking of ordering in round tail.. what are your thoughts? Did you notice any lack of hold when you took it into waves greater than 6 ft?

Sounds good, I have not yet taken it out in anything bigger than the waves in this video. I have not felt any lack of hold thus far, and I think the round tail would add even more hold. There is plenty of footage of the fever being used as a step up, so I think you will be sweet. Let me know how it goes!

Hey mate seeking your opinion. I have a local/custom HPSB very similar outline to Fever. It’s a great board in right conditions, I.e hollow waves with some juice, but it’s a dog of a board in average waves with flat section. Pretty much if not surfing in the pocket, it won’t work. Additionally, it has a heavy glass job, so a very heavy board, has its advantages in choppy heavy water conditions. So I’ve been eyeing the fever as a replacement board for good waves, but with a bit more versatility compared to my other board which is more narrowly niche in its performance. I know it’s hard not having experienced my custom board, but from my description would I be pretty much getting much the same from the Fever?

I think you are pretty spot on. I wouldn't be using the fever as a groveller, but it does sound more versatile than what you are using. I'm sure you have seen the footage of PG riding it in more average conditions...Could be a good choice. Good luck!
