Thanks so much for this info Deb! I started selling on Amazon Handmade a few months ago and it took a bit but I’ve been getting sales on certain items that don’t do too well in my Etsy shop. I did increase prices on my items since the fees are higher. Where I think Amazon Handmade is interesting is in using advertisement for the products. Lots to learn but you can target specific products or keywords that fit your niche and they can appear in listings in regular Amazon products. So even though customers might not be coming into Amazon Handmade you can get your products to appear in the “Items you might like” section. Hope this info helps someone out there!

So glad you touched on amazon handmade not being easily found by customers and how it quickly deters you back to the nonhandmade stuff. I had briefy contemplated putting stuff on amazon but then I went to look at amazons handmade selections and I quickly got discouraged. I don't want my products buried underneath that many layers. Maybe amazon will improve this at some point but right now it looks like a backhole where amazing items go to die

I have been thinking about amazon selling and wasn't sure how it works or if it will work for me. I didn't have a lot of confidence it it. Thanks for sharing these points. :D I didn't know there was a handmade amazon. Very true, we need to be spotted in that sea of manufactures.

Not for me - need to have a conversation between the customer and me before making a product. Looks like Amazon don't have a responsible manager fighting for handmade. Someone on a Friday afternoon set it up and then they have just forgotten about it.

7.46 in talking about being led from handmade to broad amazon, is that also vice versa? Say someone on regular amazon searches "viking dress" would they be directed to a handmade shop??

Loved your video! I just opened a store at Amazon Handmade, have not listed anything yet, and was searching for tutorials etc, and then stumbled on your video. Thing is Etsy turned down two of my intentions to sell there, and then I had to go to Amazon… totally agree with everything you said, though… 😢😢

I totally agree with you, I was offered to enter Amazon Handmade years ago when they launched in Mexico, but the girl who invited me told me she will give me information about best seller items so I can copy them and have them as an option too, so I asked her if she will do that too with my own designs, then she recanted, but made it clear to me that it was not the place for me. Also, I joined years ago a small local online shop, and I left soon precisely because there was no way to distinguish between massive products and what was made by hand, so I was left out of the competition and sold very little, in my case, it was a waste of time and effort. Amazon would be even worst since as the biggest online platform in the world competition there would be insane.

All the things you mentioned is exactly why I never applied to Amazon handmade. I would like to see a video on your top choices for selling platforms other than Etsy. ... but not a stand-alone site like Shopify. Thanks!

I felt something was fishy about that hand made seller. why? Because you can't call if you have a concern about how it works. They want you to login by creating an account so they will talk to you but how you will jump into a boat if you really don't know how it's really works? They don't have an Agent to see your work or if you really have a potential. They don't have a phone for handmade concerns artist. Something to think about. 🤔
