Reaper is a Heavenly DAW. I hook up all my clients to use that DAW. It’s phenomenal for live tracking. It’s weak point is the MIDI editor. It’s also not as cute as Logic, out the gate - but that thing is like Linux for daws - super customizable.

Oh another update on interfaces, I FINALLY managed to get my converter video up, from Presonus to RME. What an amazing journey.

If you record to tape or use a lot of outboard, you typically want to go with a higher sample rate to help reduce aliasing when the final is rendered at 44.1 or 4800

I love audient, I use my Avalon through one of the smaller ones along with my monitors and sound great

To listen to songs at sample rates higher than 48 kHz, you might need an external digital-to-analog converter. Lightning to 3.5mm cable and dapters have this DAC built in. If you have AirPods Max you need to aforementioned cable to take advantage of that. Otherwise, lossless is point on any Bluetooth listening device (unless streaming through a HomePod).

Most everything I record and finalize in 44.1khz 16 bit (32 bit float) ...ive tried full projects in 192khz but I hear zero difference. Whether I listen in my dt990 s, Adam audio monitors or krks, I hear no difference. Especially when everything is going to end up on streaming services as a 44.1khz 16 bit wav file

Magix sequoia and Magix Samplitude Pro X series is dope.... Sleep if you want to. Mastering Engineers use them.

The reason soundtracks are rendered in 48 or 96 is because 48 is the standard for videography / cinema. 96 being a higher fidelity than the standard 48. 💎

I just got up on you guys a couple of vids ago. I dig the vibe and topics, ... but no dis on those daws they are all valid.... Mr. & Mrs. Stienberg's babies Nuendo & Cubase are the privileged kids.

i track at 96k 24-bit. it just makes sense that a wav file being captured a 96k instead of 44.1k is higher quality in theory. the plugins that you use to mix(or track into with apollo) also operate better at higher sample rates and sound better at higher sample rates. and when you go to mastering, they ask for 48k 24bit anyway so i just bounce down from there.

People really sleep on magix. Have you haters even tried the daw 🤔 magix sequoia and magix samplitude are the same program. I've done great mixes with their software. Easy to use also.

Recording at higher sample rates is most useful for processing done inside the DAW (plugins included) in my opinion. If you've ever tried to warp/flex (time stretch) a 44.1khz file v.s. a 96khz file, you'll notice how many artifacts you get at lower sample rates.

I do hear the difference with higher sample rates on Tidal and Apple Music. I think Spotify is still downsampling it to 44.1khz, and ironically I prefer the sound of their platform overall.
