Past his prime doesn’t mean he’s not a good player. 37% from three and 18 ppg is a very good NBA player, and he’s going to a team that has Anthony Davis down low and Lebron James driving and kicking. Klay is going to be wide open A LOT and will have the chance to get that 3 point % back up past 40% on high volume.

Lakers need a Center to compete with Embiid,Joker,KAT,Porzingis, etc !

Dude Lopez is absolutely washed. He is done. If you watched last year you would know the guy looks SO slow and can barely get up and down the floor anymore. He was a major reason their D was so bad. Lopez would not be a good idea and I don't care if he can "stretch" the floor. He is done. They would be better off getting a guy like Portis from the Bucks in a trade to back up and play alongside AD. He shoots better anyway and is in his prime. Or, someone like Jalen Smith who just became a free agent from Indiana. Moritz Wagner would even be a better choice.

Lakers are done. They should trade Lebron and his son to get another star for AD. PG CP3 and Klay all can help Davis. Lebron is the blight. He may win them some games but reaching the playing tournament and hoping to beat a weak team in round one then get swept or lose in five ain't a milestone.

Neither can defend their shadow anymore. James and say Reaves, Bronny could go to someone like Cavs for Mitchell and Allen or Mobley. Or, to say same Laker package to Knicks for Randle Bridges and workout picks for both teams. Or, you could possibly convince Lebron to play with Wemby in SA for their first round pick Castle, Johnson Sochan and picks. Point is Lebron is going to still want a title shot and the Lakers are going to want to get younger stars and pieces to pair with AD not a bunch of old washed guys that can't win a title.

Klays "bad" last season, he was almost 18PPG 3RB 2AS on almost 39% from 3. Wasn't really that bad of a season. His big struggle was the Play-in.

Considering the Lakers biggest weakness is consistent and clutch shooting from the outside, in the playoffs, Klay should be able to provide that. Klay Thompson is popped. Was never the same after that injury in 2019. He has to accept it's over being a top guy. He had some years after the injury to prove himself to the Warriors and he never bounced back. That's why they're letting him walk.

He sets great screens and is one of the best offensive rebounders in the game playing good defense. He is an enforcer that can bang and take the pressure off AD, play alongside him or back him up.
