I think if we don't get Fofana, we'll have missed out on a big player. I love that he is extremely athletic and powerful, but also good on the ball, better than Everton's Onana in my opinion. I think he would make Mainoo and Bruno flourish.

I like caqueret but we need some height and power in the middle of the park. Like an Onana/Fofana. If going to start with Martinez and Mainoo need some height and power to make up for that somewhere else in the team. So we need a tall quick powerful partner for both of them in midfield and defence.

Mainoo is 6ft (184cm). Martinez and Bruno are the ones under 6ft in the 11.

Wikipedia has him at 5’9 and transfermarkt website at 175cm. Plus just looking at him compared to others he doesn’t look 6 foot.

He obviously had a growth spurt and has rendered the info on both sites obsolete. He's stocky like Shaw, so they both don't look 6ft except when they stand with other people. He did a height test recently on KZread. You could search for it.

Le Fee and Caqueret good players but Neves’ ceiling higher; he’s been doing it since 18 whereas Fee & Caqueret have just been garnering attention over last couple years. Question why no one signed Le Fee last summer when he just had a year left on his contract. Neves seems like a superstar in the making. Will be used to playing with Bruno/Dalot from Portugal. Should be first choice (budget depending obviously)

Fofana is similar to Rice. He’s been Arsenal second choice if they didn’t get rice. Solid tackler. Quick, technical, carries well, shoots well, uses both feet, plays 6 and 8. Will suprise a lot of people at Euros.

His physicality and how he suits counter attacking play. Him and Mainoo in midfield would be marvelous. Bruno just ahead of them and we would have a solid midfield for next season. I would also look for another playmaker squad player for when any of the aforementioned are injured.

Yes, in my opinion, united should sign fofana. He's physically strong, powerful and athletic and I think he stands in at 6'1. He's the perfect replacement for casemiro. He can play as an 8 as well if needed and he's by far the cheapest option in midfield, as we'd need to sign him for only 25-35mil. Collyer or Oyedele can the backup cdm option should we sign him. Speaking of oyedele, I feel he's similar in terms of style of play to camavinga, playing as a cm/cdm.

Good show, completely agree. I think we need to sign two midfielders. Maxence Caqueret would be a brilliant signing. I doubt we can get him for less then 40 though. Palacios even better, but I expect north of 70? There are lot's of good options, Joey Veerman, Mandela Keita, André Trindade, Matheus Martinelli, Angelo Stiller to name few. We should speak to every good option and see where a good deal can be done instead of bending over for Benfica and splashing the entire budget even though I'd love Neves.

Now that PSG really showing interest in signing neves lets see how much they bid for him Let them do all the hard work and agree fee with Benfica then United can pay little bit more then them and sign him

I know you didn't want the manager, and now he continues with his job. I honestly think all things considered in context with the issues with the club and the team he's the right man for the job letting go of people who can not and will not follow his instructions working with the club in regards to style of play, transfers, ect if you marry that with his back to back trophy wins I think we might have a recipe for future success because we never had the correct structure in place before gone are the days of the sir alex style managers we saw this at Liverpool with klopp when Edwards left klopp took over transfers and they only won the league cup in that period compared when klopp worked under the club structure and they won every so when they brought Edwards back as klopps boss that's why the German decided to leave ten hag +structure = trophy's Maybe you can make a video based on how this might work and how we can get the best out of ten hag

Those are good options but we really need to stop looking at technical skills alone. We’ve lost a lot of height and physicality in our midfield and we need a dm who’s tall enough and technically sound to partner Kobbie

My only concern with Fofana is I’m not sure the balance in midfield would be right? I rate Fofana but because of his ability, I’m not sure how disciplined he would be to sit in as a CDM compared to someone like Amrabat - knowing how good Fofana is going forward, United would surely be looking to exploit those skills. I don’t give ETH much credit for doing this because I believe he was forced to do this towards the end of the season, but we finally saw balance in the midfield with Amrabat Mctominay Mainoo as well as Bruno being able to float in that false 9 position. If we do get Fofana, I hope we don’t get exposed in midfield because of the lack of balance.

My only concern with Caqueret is that our midfield might be too lightweight

I'd like to see United sign both Fofana & Amadou Onana as replacements for Casemiro & Eriksen. With the amount of games in the next season both these players would suit us perfectly with combined fees for Fofana & Onana would be still less than what Joao Neves will cost.

In summary what you are saying is there are loads of Gems in France! Wecneed to scout deeper

Caqueret is quality, wantedus to sign him last couple of years...but not now, he isnt a defensive midfielder, he is a very similar player to Mainoo, both cant play in the same system

Unpopular opinion: Neves is lightweight and we can't have him paired with Mainoo in midfield

Our team already struggles for height and strength with players like Garnacho and Antony. We need more height, also to gain advantage in the set plays.

Both those players are significantly smaller than Fofana not to mention lightweight. We need height and physicality
