@@Scarface_445if he does it right, he won’t be just stopping….he will be way more stressed raising 2 girls as well as educating and socialising them for years and years of their lives most likely with not much of a break. It’s not an easy thing at all especially for a dad who is not female and will probably find it very hard to understand and communicate effectively with his daughters. Sounds like his wife works crazy hours and the kids would benefit from having a stay at home parent. Home schooling is the way to go if you're concerned about the education children are getting today. Either parent can perform this role and sometimes men do a better job. Children and family should come first before work and income.

This is where I think sexism against men start. People start to shame men who want to take up traditionally female jobs. Wife is a doctor and earns more than him, he doesn't like his job and wants to be a family man. People make fun of fatherless children but when a father wants to be involved then? Women are favoured more in court in divorces, and people's mentality is the reason why. I support stay at home dads and career moms. All the way.

No it only works when it is the female giving up the job and not the male. This is something that no matter how much social engineering goes into it won’t change. The female will lose the respect for her mate knowingly or unknowingly if he is not functioning as the bread winner. If you have level headed couples who are intune with one another and are team players then it might possibly work but it is really hard to override those role plays based on biological programming.

Amen. There's a reason the children of teachers are the worst. By the time the teachers get home, they're tired of being in charge of kids and discipline goes out the window. This guy is basically jumping into spending every waking moment with his kids, and that's probably not the best idea for anyone. I'm not anti-homeschooling, but there's a definite social cost to it: both in terms of kids not socializing with their peers, and parents not getting a break from their children.

I don't see anything wrong either. Sure seems odd when people think it is great if a woman stays home as a full time care giver for the family but it is a bad idea for the man to stay home. The guy is smart enough to carry a $200K/yr. job. I am pretty sure once he hits his stride at home he will find ways to work from home to contribute to the household. But even if not, taking care of a home and home schooling is nothing to sneeze at as far as contribution.

Even a lot of women in similar situations struggle with being beholden to another person for everything and it creates resentment.
