I agree, this felt forced.

I've been working in digital advertising for 14 years for a large UK agency. I can say with extreme confidence that KZread benefits MASSIVELY through the Google relationship. Even though you might think KZread could be forgotten about, there has been a huge focus from Google on developing and better-integrating KZread within their advertising ecosystem. Especially with some more modern campaign formats such as Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns. The whole purpose of these is to make it easier for all advertisers to tap into a wider pool of Google inventory, including KZread. In addition, the audience data and performance tracking from Google provide immeasurable benefits to KZread advertisers. I cannot imagine a world in which KZread would want to part ways with Google.

It's weird to explain, but I feel the script was made by AI. The structure doesn't really makes sense. Information is repeated and doesn't really tell a story. I know you can make better TLDR!

So 31 Billion $ from about 2.7 Billion users, is basically, 12$ a year from its audience, or about 1$ per month.

YT perfect as it is. This is one of those instances where people don't realize how good they have it until later, they just take everything for granted and actually complain about every little thing.

You guys used the same image for the google ecosystem tree for the vast majority of the video. Almost made this one into a radio worthy talk. Please find different things to display to make it worth watching, even if listening is still great as always.

People would sue Alphabet for mismanagement if they ever sold KZread. Just a really bad move. You passed over one of the best arguments for why KZread will never be sold. It is a MASSIVE source of data for Google's AI and advertising divisions

Because despite it getting worse and less free all the time people are still here. I liken it to drinking from a muddy lake, because thousands are, when there's a smaller puddle next to it with just ten people but clean water. The normies would need to move for me to move fully. I like Odysee. NEARLY there in terms of functions. Bitchute was OK the short time I used it but got fed too much political stuff. Rumble haven't tried but also haven't found a dark theme which is essential for me. If KZread was taken off Google's hands and made free (and fun) again that'd be the best for everyone. Then re-introduce private messages and make it possible to de-activate the algorithm and it's solid.

I really hope that they won't be separated from Alphabet, an independent KZread will quickly devolve into Vimeo. Imagine KZreadrs having to buy a subscription to KZread to upload as "an investment" and paying KZread to host your content, all while storage technology is quickly innovating making storage cheaper. We'd also see systematic deletion of old videos unless the channel pays for it. There is so much that could go wrong with KZread. I'd rather see a competitor rise.

A part of this is that Google sees every issue as an engineering problem to be resolved in a way that can infinitely scale and be automated away. The fact it causes tons of issues for the users and content creators is irrelevant, as long as the end result benefits the company overall.

KZread will progressively get worse over time. More and more ads as they seek to please shareholders

Even just for serving infrastructure, it will take years to build that on your own. Alternative is use cloud, but that will immediately bankrupt the company. Makes no sense and they cannot split.

Like any company KZread could just pay for ad services from Google. No reason for them to rebuild it. Yes, the mechanics might change a little, but that isn't that much of a problem. Same way they could pay for moderation services. But as a separate company they would say least have the option to add other ad platforms or other moderation companies to the mix. Might be a good thing.

They would never, KZread is their lifetime Bae. Their best acquisition.

What I think so far KZread can be upgraded into a standalone platform within Alphabet core businesses that equals the Google and no more under Google. I think KZread will even get bigger if they being independent from being under Google.

I am amazed at how the video dives into the REVENUE generated by KZread, but never the OPERATING COST. KZread requires an enormous of money to operate. If we take into account the operating cost, I'm pretty sure that KZread isn't the cash cow this video is making it out to be.

How many companies could afford the upkeep of this monster streaming entity? Storage and power costs must be overwhelming. They can only add so much more advertising to support this obese monster. I expect KZread to simply collapse in the near future. I can almost understand if Google wants to dump KZread. I enjoy watching the videos quite a bit but I doubt I'll ever pay for it, no matter how many ads they throw at me. I have a high tolerance to ads and will just tune out. I think Google really needs the ad revenue and I don't blame them.

I'm not sure why this video was made. It feels like a filler for an ad segment. You had an agreed upon ad slot and just filled the quota. That's what I'm getting from this video I don't think anyone assumed or even thought that KZread would leave alphabet and how on earth would that happen given that it's owned by alphabet. The demerger or exit of KZread would only occur if alphabet wanted it and just like it was pointed out KZread has no interest in doing that or promoting that idea. From a business standpoint it would be stupid because they haven't or won't develop the infrastructure to go solo. Not to throw shade or overly criticise but I really don't see the point of this video. I suppose it would have been better to phrase the video as "how alphabet benefits KZread" or "KZread business spotlight" or something to that effect. The only thing of value I got from this video is what would happen if KZread left alphabet and it's position in the market but it would still suck for KZread.
