Thank you Claudia. Some men want 50/50 finances, but want women to cook, clean, laundry, take care of kids, help with homework, take kids to activities, etc... while the man goes to work and comes home to sit. If it’s 50/50, then BE 50/50 on everything...

Stop marrying these chauvinistic, patriarchal men who see women as slaves. In my marriage we both cooked, cleaned, did laundry. A lot of the time that was time when we bonded. We BOTH paid bills out of one shared account that both of our paychecks went into. Men that see women as equal will cook land clean just like you. The problem women have is the men most of the men that genuinely see women as equal are also the ones that feel both men and women should pay bills. But the "provider" men that women say they want, that pay all the bills, are often a part of the same toxic patriarchal system that women say they hate. You can't have it both ways.

If a woman is going to hold a man to a traditional standard then that women should expect to be held to that same standard. In my opinion the only way a man should be responsible for a 💯% of the finances is if he’s is ready to get married and start a family and his wife agrees to be a stay at home mother. If marriage and kids is not the goal what’s the point in a man letting a woman live off of his money while she has a career and conserves her own 🤷🏾‍♂️

You want some brainwashed men to sit up there and say what you want to hear so you can nod your head in agreement. Well it's 2020 ma'am....men know their worth and won't be taken advantage of anymore. If a woman wants a protector and provider, she must be completely 100% in submission, borderline slave. Why would a man want to protect and provide for today's women who can do whatever they want and leave whenever they want?

Bryan you're a real person with a partner you likely knew over time and now (I'd assume) in ya 30s to 40s. The panel is in the same age group and debating a hypothetical with something they'll never have because they can't have what you have. You and your wife know each other and been through stuff now you married these people are single and in the same age bracket so the test of character required for them to know the concept of "who pays what" is yet to be tested in the real world and tbh that opportunity to take that test in life has PASSED them by they'll never get a chance to truly know because they are already middle aged. The time to learn who pays what is during your twenties with your partner specific to that relationship because like you said sometimes ya wife made more sometimes you made more. These kind of people on the panel end up just getting older debating theory with no practical application devoid of real experiences with someone like you and your wife and will stay that way. They are presenting the polished version of themselves with no real test of their ideas when it mattered hence why they on camera talking about what normal people do everyday. Basically you're beyond these people they don't live in the real world they are in a simulation.

Women have it better in todays society to be honest, with women winning in majority of divorce and child custody cases women are living an easier life. Women expect to make their own money but want a man to pay for dates and everything else while they get to spend their money on their own needs. The only way I'm not going 50/50 in a relationship is if the woman doesn't work at all, no income whatsoever .....and in that situation she would have to become a slave lmao. I ain't about to provide and protect a woman who won't suck my dick on command (and swallow). Wash my draws and clip my toenails...she gotta earn that lifestyle where everything is taken care of financially for her.

Many of the same non-black men that you speak of become bitter when their marriages fail and they realized that their wife only viewed them as a piggy bank. Great leaders? That's why they run things? This is some of the dumbest nonsense I've read this week. So I guess black women must be bad leaders since none of them run companies right? Not just black women but women period. And if that's the case, women have no business getting the kids in a divorce since they can't lead a family. Do you see how trash your comment is?

  • @slylockfox85

It's comical that women accuse men of being shallow yet demand men to pay/provide for everything. When you expect a man to carry all the weight, you reduce yourself to a financial decision. Don't be surprised when many men pass. Yet when women place a high emphasis on money, it's rarely called out for being "shallow." Women excuse it by saying that they want a guy that can support a family. Yet many of these women, especially in their early 30s, are done having kids. Hell, many already have kids from prior men. Some are on food stamps and Section 8 but want some high-roller. Please. But you claim you're going to date outside your race. Good luck with that pipe dream. Dating outside your race isn't a reality for 95% of black women. Most white guys wont touch a black woman, not to mention one that has kids. And the AVERAGE black woman has her first child at AGE 21.9. Let that sink in. Before she has a degree in her hand, the average black woman has a kid. But they want to set expectations for what a man should be bringing to the relationship? Most black women are not in a position to be dictating ANYTHING to any man.

Thank you!! This is my issue. It is only a topic in the black community. I did work where I saw a lot of white women home raising the kids, while their husbands worked. Even in most cultures, this is how it is!! It is only a conversation amongst men who are not able to provide and don’t have a good career. The woman can work full or partime or not at all if she chooses but the main house bills are the man’s!! This is the norm in most cultures.. it is only an issue amongst black Americans.. I am African. It is considered shameful if you are doing 50/50 with your wife or she is providing for you. The woman’s main job as a wife is to tend to the children and home. To each is own though, Not for me however. 🤣

The two lady guests were alright. As far as the "50/50" it should not just be limited to finances, just as Claudia alluded. At the moment I don't make a lot of money, but I do legit know how to cook, clean, wash and fit sh*t. Like, I can cook a woman breakfast or dinner and unclog the bathroom sink. Women today often do make just as much or more than men due to changes in the economy. And like Claudia also alluded to, if a woman makes more money and "weaponizes" the fact, she can lose a man if she's not careful.

If the woman wants to buy something then buy it but she's not required to. Also a man feels less of a man ultimately when he doesn't provide. What does she bring you ask? She's bringing a home, a life you love, children and her presence which is priceless. If you don't need those things then good for you you don't need her but if you do and most men do then you pay! 50/50 should never be about money. A man should bring almost 100% of the money to home. A woman should bring almost 100% of herself to take care of the home. Relationship is something you build. If both of you are out there and giving only 50%, There will be 100% of key things left to be done. Evolution says that specialization is key to progress. When a home is not specialized, no one have the opportunity to become their best on something. When you take care of 100% of something, you become responsible. When you become responsible and you become good at something, you get two key rewards: 1) You become a master at something, and 2) You get rewards and recognition by other people (Spouse, children, family, neighbors, co-workers, church members) 50/50 people end up alone and divorced most of the time. If you can't give 100%, stay single and live the greatest life you can. If you can... God will send someone your way, no matter how long it takes.

The thing about the equal pay though is that you are not dating a guy with the same job as you. Different jobs have different pay. And the pay depends on more than just gender. The point is that in a relationship it's better when men and women have similar financial standards. But it can never be 50/50 cause men and women are just different. Slightly different but still different enough. Both sides have to bring enough to the table and value what the other one is bringing. The biggest problem is when the woman wants to be the princess and get spoilt by some rich dude and still act like she is calling the shots. No boo-boo, the guy with the money is calling the shots.

And this is the reason why all of you on that panel and in Cali are single. Everybody has their own ideology about what they think of relationship maybe and this causes a separation because no one wants to come to grips with the fact that a relationship between a man and a woman means Oneness and not two separate people. TheBohodiva women who are homemakers(stay at home mothers), feminine and pleasant to be around don’t have years knocked off their life expectancy. The only woman this applies to is the woman who doesn’t adhere to the traditional way of marriage. If living longer was the deciding factor for men getting married then the marriage rate across the globe would be at a all time high. There’s other factors that come into play when a man decides to jump the broom. If a woman wants to hold men to a traditional standard they should be expected to hold themselves to that very same standard.

riddickj16 I believe many women are still interested in some traditional values. Heck, many are working, cooking, cleaning, spending majority time with the kids, taking care of parents. We do it all. One thing certainly has changed with women pursuing careers and having the ability to provide for themselves. They no longer have to be controlled by men out of financial dependence. And some men can’t stand this. Just because we can fend for ourselves doesn’t mean we don’t still want a man to take the lead and be a provider. Real men know the value of a wife. And trust real women are waiting for a man who knows how to be a husband.

Irregardless of whether or not the man makes more money or the woman does, biblically speaking, the man is the head of the household and should be respected as such. The finances should (in my opinion) be combined and both sit down and see where the money is going. Never should you be in a relationship (marriage) and not know where your financial future is heading. (That’s ignorant). As a financial counselor, I recommend whoever is more financially savvy, take the reigns in developing a budget and keeping the couple on track of having a successful debt free lifestyle.

However, if she isn’t a career woman is your everyday woman in which he makes significantly more money than her then he is all for being the soul provider due to her inability to measure up financially.

Man is a protector and provider only to a woman who is willing to play her role which is a help mate. What I find hilarious is that traditionally speaking women have all the knowledge of what’s a mans role but never seem mention what their role is🤔.
