It's always great to talk with the team at Starline Brass. The person I talk with most related to Starline Brass technical issues is Hunter Pilant, one of the engineers at Starline. Here's the discussion I had with Hunter at the 2020 Shot show!

Terrific product and the Starline factory tour is really fun! For us reloading geeks, anyway. Funny you mentioned 6.5 Creedmoor, my son and I just got bolt and semi-auto rifles in the caliber and I’ve been trying to figure out why we’d need one primer size over the other. Especially for the impressive price difference. I guess we’ll go with whatever size our Federal hunting ammo uses for reloading and not stress about it too much.

I'm doing a Precision handloading series on 308 Winchester using Starline match-grade brass with a small primer pocket. . So far so good. I'm using CCI 450 Magnum small rifle primers and their igniting loads of Varget all the way to 43.6 very well. . Thank you Starline for making some of the best affordable brass in the business. . @@lanceschul Hey, Brother Nice to see you over here. . I've done quite a bit of 7mm-08 with Starline brass and you are correct. That brass rocks for that cartridge. . In fact Starline brass for the money is some of the most accurately made brass on the market hands down. . It's no Lapua or Peterson's brass, but it's not over a dollar apiece either LOL. Echo.

I was holding off as long as I could, hoping starline or lapua would get into the 6.5 prc. Ended up going with gunwerks. So far looks like good brass. Making my first ladder loads with it as I type this. Holds less powder than hornady, but that was expected. Would also be nice if others would make loads for the caliber. Slim pickings out there. Gav - Keep em coming.

I have a Savage Model 110 Long Range Hunter with Accufit in .300 WSM, I checked their site upon your recommendation and sadly they don't have new brass for the .300 WSM. Hopefully that will be in the next round of calibers that they add here soon.

@@j.r.1223 Sadly I haven't got to test it with some handloads, I spent too much expensive ammo (.300 WSM is way more expensive that .308 ammo) just breaking it in and sighting it in with a junk scope that my brother took off. I have never used the Accutrigger before, something I have to get use to. Now that I have a chrono, when I get a good enough day when it is not raining or snowing I will test it some with my handloads. I do like the rifle overall, much more comfortable than the old LRH with that checkriser with the big ugly knobs. I like the accufit system, easy to use and install. I put a 20 MOA Blackhawk rail on mine. The adjustable muzzlebrake helps too. I wish I had more of a solid opinion for you. I got a smoking deal on it, and it was in the caliber I wanted. The .308 was in my top 3.

@@TheWVgoodguy22 Best wishes with your gun! It should be a shooter. My model 11 seems to do better with a bipod on it??? (3/4"- not the best but still pretty darn good w/a factory gun and factory ammo- 178 eld-x precision hunter at 2600 fps.) I haven't built custom loads yet either. Jesus is King.

@@j.r.1223 Thank you and I would take 3/4 inch groups all day long. I do want to eventually get a bipod for it and a Leupold Vx-3i or 5HD to put on it. Something in that 4.5-14x50 or 3.5-15x44 range. I thought about reloading with those, since the 300 WSM only has 200 Eld-x in the Precision Hunter line. Amen to that bro. God Bless.

Great interview, love their brass! Some thing that has me scratching my head.... I have no interest in the 35 legend, but why on God’s green Earth wouldn’t they set that cartridge up using a .357 or .358” bullet? You’re essentially making a 9 mm super mag! LOL Doesn’t make sense to me, now you’re waiting for the bullet manufacturers to catch up.
