epic, idk why this is on my recommended 7 years later. but im not complaining
wow, that is exciting and bloody awsome, mate I could watch that all day. gee I love trout they are beautiful fish. great stuff
This is the most unique thing I've seen on KZread regarding nature. It's absolutely captivating and I could stare at it all day.
One of the best videos that I've seen on the internet.
Love it! I've always tried to imagine the goings on underwater....from the trout perspective!!! Beautiful!!
Best fishing video of 2014. Yeah right
I love that people that don't fish, let alone flyfish, continue to watch this video repeatedly. Its like having an 800 gallon, trout aquarium in your living room.
This is awesome. To see something you have never seen before this way.
I love it how that small one gets hooked and the big one doesn't even give a damn XD
Looks like our local river, thanks for posting a relaxing video
That was awesome!! Wow the clarity unreal!!
wow cheers for that! very interesting, nothing really spooked! as soon as the fish was out the way another had taken its spot! this has adjusted my attitude, usually I head off to another pool or eddy after a capture, now ill give it a few more shots!
Really relaxing. Great video
wow this is amazing footage and look how clear the water is that's amazing!!
Beautiful photography.
This was taken in Oregon in early February of 2012. I used a go pro hero 2 camera. Water temp was about 43F. Thanks for all your comments. I've caught a lot of trout over the years but this one is my absolute favorite.

Nice underwater footage, but Im suprised you haven't received more criticism for targeting spawning fish.
wow. The fish isn't just fighting, he is determined to spit that hook and has a pretty good idea how to do it
Lovely video. I had a bit of a laugh at 3.57. Rainbows really aren't the sharpest tool in the shed. lol
very cool video! I definitely need to get my hands on a go pro camera. More videos like this can be very helpful in understanding the habits/movements of fish! I hope you post more of these!
Striking clarity! I'll PM you a video of some similar footage when summer rolls around!
Beautiful Clip!
very clear video.....nice location.......plus 10...! 1FM Lake George, NY
Stunning water quality
This is incredible. I live in CO and we have some crystal clear water, but it looks like OR has us beat. I have never fished in the NW, but I clearly need to-Looks gorgeous. Such a simple video, but really incredible. Also quite hilarious. I always pictured when I was pulling a fish out of a hole that the other fish around would be freaking out, but I guess they just chill and wait for their friend to get released so they can bust their balls. Who knew?

fished gross res yesterday. caught a trout in crystal clear water. His big beefy friend literally came up and followed him up to my net. Never thought that would happen. figured it would bolt. He just hung around.
Really well done. I bet you needed a lot of patience to set up the camera and get everything just right. GOOD JOB!!
this video is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing.. great footage!
I've been wanting to film like this for a while, good work.
wow that is beautiful, ive never seen something like this.
Great video. The underwater stuff is great. I did a few of brook trout out here on the East coast.
Fascinating view of what exactly is going on...great job.
this is beautiful
great work my friend!
That yell of excitement at 4:21
Great quality
Deschutes? How cool! What size tippet? To keep him out if that wood you had to hog on him a bit :) I'm guessing 5x :) good job! GoPro is an amazing lil camera for such a great price! Thanks!
wow i love your video ! thank you so much for taking the effort to record this footage :) it really adds invaluable insight for me as an angler :)!!!
Nice work. Beautiful and enlightening. I could watch trout swim around all day. If you wanted us to know where this was, you'd tell us. I agree with you keeping mum on that aspect.
Very Clear Shots... Is your GoPro in an underwater housing or does it just have the regular fish eye housing? Usually not this clear unless in dive housing, excellent shots. Super clear water.
that's beautiful
He's head shakin! I can feel em head shakin!
Great fish and thanks for letting us see what they do to throw the hook. But I'm curious on how you mounted or stablized the GoPro? I tried doing a similar shot this past weekend on Clear Creek west of Denver in a hole filled with brookies. Put the camera on the end of a mono pod - with a moderate current the results were pretty shakey. I was thinking of drilling an anchor bolt into a concrete block. What did you use?
Questo video e' semplicemente stupendo!
Brilliant !! What video editing software do you use? I Have a GoPro, but without a quality editing software all my clips that I splice together are limited to 480p.
fantastic
Sick video just curious what program are you using to edit and convert your videos onto youtube, I've been having trouble getting my HD vids to play in actual HD seems like youtube likes to render it down quite a bit which makes for poor quality any kind of help would be great.
I freakin love it
Wow! Just think if that first one is eighteen inches than some of the other ones must have been over 20inches!!!! 8 )
Fun video to watch. Being in Oregonian myself I can say this could be any one of a hundred Oregon rivers and creeks with good trout in them. I wish I could have seen what those fish were taking: Soft hackle? Nymph? Whatever it was, clearly you have to get the fly down. Thanks....
Nice!
What camera are you using ? Very nice...
what camera are you using and are you using any lens covers on it?
Great filming,i'm hoping to try a similar set up for filming Salmon spawning this month, did you use the dive housing for this,as i found it much better than the normal underwater one you get with the camera.ATB Steve.
show de bola, belo trabalho, Campinas SP
That's how inventing get's started!
hey...please...a lot of people were asking "what camera was used?" can you share please?
Great.
Thats awesome, what part of Oregon do you fish?
The trout was revived and released unharmed. It just bolted downstream out of the field of view.

this was cool :)
Looks awesome, what camera did you use?
This is one of the best videos of trout I have seen. You should have this as a screensaver. Is there a way to download it onto my computer so I can use it as one? Gorgeous footage!
Superbe merci
Where was this taken? Alaska?
Looking at the water, the snags, the gravel, the plants and the fish, this had to be Fall River downstream of the hatchery. There are a number of rivers that look the same, but their fish don't look like these. Hope you didn't get too cold in that river of ice! Great vid!

Looks like you were hung up at the end of your drift and the fish grabbed the nymph while you were attempting to free your rig. Is that what happened? Kinda neat to watch it all unfold.
