Prochargers (centrifugal) produce power in a linear fashion, the same as NA. More RPM, more boost. Better fuel economy than a roots blower at low RPMs because less boost and therefore less fuel and lower cylinder pressure. Heavy vehicles would benefit more from the TQ of a roots at the expense of fuel economy however, you're not getting a ton more power below 3000 rpm.

No one really uses roots superchargers now. The PD blowers are generally twin screw or TVS. Similar to roots but more power and efficiency.
