I really think this styling of the Altima is timeless. it never gets old to me. I would own one of these year Altima's today

I just got one of these for 5000 with 84,000 miles. Very satisfied with it so far

I bought my 06 altima in may of 2007- it was produced in august of 2006- and I am VERY satisfisfied with this car.

I currently drive a 07 2.5 S Altima & I love it! Very fun car & great on gas! Bought it used 2 years ago. I'm hoping to buy a 3.5 Altima sometime in the near future. They're very rare on the road where I live.

Its a very nice car, and a cool design, I have the 2005 Altima it's my first car, its 8 years old and runs just fine, as long as you take care of it, you know take it for check ups and getting thee Oil changed it'll run. I am getting something new though, because you know it needs too retire after a while lol, Great Car :)

Great rides. My first and current car is an '02 altima. Going on 194k miles. Only major repair *knock on wood* was the cat. converter which was covered by nissan.

Just bought one of these used today, and I am really liking it so far. I love the visibility and the fact that it doesn't have such a huge dash. This car can also accelerate really well, and that is always good for merging on to highways and stuff like that. I hope that I get to keep this for a long while.

I just got one for 500 dollars from one of my friends, 160k miles. Mechanically, very solid. Cosmetically, not the best. Clear coat is peeling, some minor bumps and bruises. I live in the rust belt, so she is rusty in the rear wheel lips, suspension and exhaust. I'm going to fully restore her suspension/brakes over this year, potentially fix up her exhaust, and drive her until the wheels fall off. Despite the rust/body condition, I can tell she has more time to go! 🙏

Great car. Mine has 166,000 miles and it is running great. I do have to replace a coolant outlet valve connected to the engine because it is leaking. Overall, great car although it is 12 plus year old.

What’s the difference from the special edition and the base one ?

This car is everything what a medium income family would reasonably want. The car is quality built with a reliable, but thrifty engine. The vehicle is roomy, comfortable, safe and not overly expensive. However the complain about the mediocre interior is a valid one. I suppose Nissan wanted to differentiate the Altima from the higher designated Maxima, and that was the only way because starting with this generation, the size and the styling of the exterior became quite similar for those two.

Truly a great car. They have a pre-cat problem but other than that its a great car. I have a 07 3.5SE tho :)

I looooooove my 2.5SL. Full packaged, and just hit 116,000 yesterday. Runs like new, and had giving me NO problems yet. Only had to replace the compressor last year.

how's the crank/camshaft sensors? my dad had an 03 and got it at 30k, gave it back at 133k. Only thing he had to replace was crankshaft sensor

Nascardo Mine is working just fine, Man. 127 on the Dash, and all I've had to replace so far is the A/C compressor.

@StripedComet i think that its all of the chrome. my friends mom has one of these and it doesnt have hardly any chrome.

@jetpack2133 ..I know that the 2005 Altima carrys bout 20, and yes its very efficient, and the 02 is decent, theyre 05 -08 models are probably the most efficient though.

@slimecrazy552 I wouldn't say so. My friend used to have a 2009 Camry and it felt extremely cheap. The interior felt like it was from the late 1990's but put into a 2009 car. In my opinion, the Jetta/Passat has the highest quality interior for the price.

Buddy selling one. 2006 with around 120k miles. Ex son in law said he could have it just needed transmission replaced. He replaced the tranny and wants 3500 for it. Everything working great on it he says.

I have heard alot of negatives about the 06 and older generations, I think yours is good because they updated them and redid the interiors and such for 07+ I found a 08 Hybrid for only $14k with about 30,000 miles on it! I think I am going to buy it, I can't keep commuting in my Land Rover!

I have 126k miles on mine bought at 113k had to replace radiator cuz it was leaking from top and just replace the valve cover and gasket beacause the spark tube walls were full of oil except for 1.

the rear lights always reminded me of a metal red and orange butterfly

@youngb1ood Yes Dodge does have cruddy interiors. Their new interiors are nice. But I think Nissans are over priced and have sub par interiors.

For the 2011 model the Special Edition Package includes: 16-inch alloy wheels, foglights, auto/on headlights, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and a rear spoiler. The 2006 doesn't have all these though. I couldn't really find anything on the 2006 model. I hope this helps somewhat :)

Brandon Hill I'm afraid you're wrong 2006 Special Edition Altimas can be optional with Alloys as well with standardized steel wheels with wheel covers.

Preferred the older Altimas.
