thanks for posting this. This layout on the 2ls caught my eye, was curious how it would look. Your ball reaction is what I was looking for.

I just plugged and punched my phaze 2 with this layout and my god is it awesome. Every two handed should start with this layout. Wish I had known many balls ago. Been bowling two hands for year and half and rev dominant. Been trying to get speed up with not much luck and when I do it’s too much effort on my old ass. This layout allows me to play nice and smooth and not have a violent back end motion.

5 1/2*5*2 Can you also make a video with a punched ball with this layout? I'm curious about your reaction

Hey Mustafa, I've never used a Pin to Pap longer than 5", as I don't really have the rev rate or tilt for that. I also don't really have the expendable balls to drill randomly unfortunately. My next ball will either be the Global 900 Eternity or Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid. For one of those Asym's I'm going to try the 5x4x3.5 2LS layout. I'm edditing last nights footage of the Revenant, that's a 4.5x5x4 which is pretty close to what you're asking for. You'll like that ball motion I bet!

The 5 1/2 x 5 x 2 is a good layout for me on strong asymmetric balls…gives it more length and keeps the back end with power. But he is right that you need a decent amount of revs and ball speed. I do like the 5 x 4 x4 on symmetric balls, but want to try the 2 x 6 x 5 on an asymmetric to kill the track and make the ball straighter

Hello! Thanks for posting this video! I see that this layout is the #2 option on the 2ls layout chart, would you recommend this for someone rev dominant and slower speed? All my balls are violently reacting and I need something controllable. Thank you!

@@broski818 Yes, absolutely. Short pins are great at allowing you to play straighter angles in the lane, when conventional layouts force you too far left and are too responsive downlane. Typically they recommend strong cover, big Asyms, but for our purposes, you can see I went with a weak hybrid cover. I've also had success using symmetrical ball short pins as well. Don't be afraid to shake things up.

@@KennyGrinols I appreciate you getting back to me! So if I were to put this layout on a phaze 2 for example, I wouldn’t have to stand so far left in the beginning? Most of the balls in my arsenal are strong symmetricals, that hook out of this planet. Also, what exactly do you mean by short pin? Thank you for your feedback 🙏

@@broski818if you want less hook, I'm not sure why you're using extremely strong solid balls in the first place. Phaze 2 is way too strong for what you're looking for. Short pin is what this layout is. 2" pin to pap is what is considered "short pin". Anything 2.25 and under, would qualify as short pins. If you're looking for control and less hook, I might be looking at the IQ Tour Solid.

@@KennyGrinols Well I bowled 1 handed with my thumb for many years, and I needed these strong symmetricals because of the much lower revs I had at the time. I’m relatively new to 2 handed, what’s a good 3 ball arsenal you would recommend? That includes the shorter pin layout? Thank you.

@@broski818 If you're truly rev dominant and low speed, you have to look at balls differently knowing you'll always be using weaker equipment relative to someone who is matched. If I were building an arsenal from scratch today... The Ion Pro would probably be my strongest ball. (Black Venom or Envy Tour are alternatives) Then I would drop down to an Attention Star for when you need more length, and more corner downlane as you chase the pattern breakdown left. And then the 3rd ball can either be, a high RG low diff ball, like... Supra GT, HyRoad, Thrill, Hustle, Tropical Surge. Or you can short pin an IQ Tour, or something for when you want to move right and play straighter angles.
