Save yourself the hassle and add super glue for a temporary hold while your wood glue sets up no need for claps, use a spray of acetone for fast reaction for super glue thank me later

I can do one better with the all the pieces being five solid pieces and beveled from the center, down to the point or make another star that looks inverted from the outer points being high to the center being low using the same jig with an adapter added to it. And the only gluing points are in the Middle where the five segments points comes together..oh. and all done on the table saw. 😊

So every cut is at 36°?
