I think this was pretty fantastic. Your tutorials are definitely easy to understand with the way you explain things. Also, i personally think the only thing that would make them better is more rambling per say and random fact tidbits. Those are just some of my favorite qualities from your tutorials though. I'm totally on board for a how to draw hair kind of series like you mentioned

Another helpful tutorial. I think I am going to pay closer attention to your channel from now on =) Also, I want to say that for a while after I started to practice drawing more seriously (8 years ago), I thought of the hair as more or less random lines starting from the scalp, and I struggled badly. Understanding that hair can be perceived as something simple like a flowing form with volume made things a lot easier. Tutorials like this one also helps to demystify the challenge that is drawing/painting the illusion of hair. Thank you for posting this!

Just finished part two and it was great! I liked how you mentioned things about skin/proportion/color choices/etc throughout the video on top of the hairstyles. As far as music, there was one bit where I felt like it was too short to need to be there... if that makes sense. :p But yeah, the repeating part that lalalelon mentioned is around 18:35. Great job, and happy to support!

Having bought the extra content on Gumroad I would love to leave some feedback :) The content is worth every penny - the way that you tell how you structure your hair styles and pick the colors really inspires and describes the ideas and thoughts you have whilst creating characters. I would love to see more character design tutorials from you and it really helps inspire my own little ideas that I tinker with in my spare time. I have also the pleasure of being a Pencil Kings member - where some tutorials of yours are as well (namely some about Character Design) - I would love to see content like that be made all within your own video style Because this feels really natural and your personality really pays off dividends when you are creating videos like this. Hope you will get around to see this message - and hopefully - make some character design tutorials sometime :P Best Lucas

I'm a lazy bugger. I don't really make an effort to do stuff unless it involves vidya games or being creative. Mostly the latter, since I mostly enjoy drawing and writing. I've invented my own fictional fantasy universe, so they kind of go hand in hand when I'm designing characters and creatures. Though I'd given up hope of ever making decent looking art when I saw all of the epic drawings other people can do. Seeing this channel, however, has inspired me to improve my art. And in turn, prompted me to improve as a person. So uh... Cheers.

love your stuff man, big motivation... Just finished part two on Gumroad for the third time and it's exactly what I'd want, just more of it. You free videos are so good I was honestly just expecting more. Plus the other tutorials I've gotten on there are usually a few hours or more. Maybe if you included the longer hair etc? Not complaining! Just giving feedback as requested. ;) Loved watching you render the faces so that was a nice bonus. Oh, and a high res image I could zoom in on and study would be nice. Anyway, I'll keep buying your shit regardless... just trying to help. Keep up the great work. ☝

thanQ so much for sharing ur experience by making those helpful tutorials! since the date that one my friend told me about ur channel i start to watch and practice then i feel like im leveling up because of that so please keep sharing them! ... BTW i have 2 question first 1 is there anyway for Photoshop to give a clean inking line like mangastudio or painttool sai.. etc? 2 do u recommend 2D artist to learn 3D program to analyze how to render and shaping their 2D lines in better way? or lifedrawing can be enough to teach us how to paint and shade in 3D way? one last thing don't know if u done it before but if u don't mind i want recommend u to make a #Hashtag for u that we can use it on IG or twitter when we share what we learn from ur tutorials instead of mention or tagging u to not bothering u so u can check them whenever u have a free time and thanX again

So like you asked at the end of part 2, heres my feebback/review. I liked the tutorial. Just started practicing some more of what I just saw and I'm exploring more shapes an stuff. Watching part 1 and 2 together really does help you understand how hair works a bit more. The music was not annoying nor to loud just in case you needed to know that as well. These are the positives now for negatives. Now I don't want to sound cheap or anything like that but I don't believe the $7 price tag is justified. I have your concept art tutorial video as well an I personally felt I got more out that video than the hair tutorial. In that tutorial(wont spoil contents) you explained more techniques as well as why you were making certain decisions in the design and so forth. I don't know if "cheated" is the right words but part one is on youtube for free so what you end up paying for is just part 2. So I feel like it could have been a bit cheaper. But hey you gotta live right and I'm happy to be a supporter This of course is just my opinion. Others may differ. I'm not sad face for buying this at all either. I still learned a good bit about hair and buzz cuts.(never do this hair style) Also learned some cool brush things. Anyway keep up the awesome work. I look forward to future work of yours in the future. :)

A(hhhhh)med (seriously, someone calls you Ed? - but I digress) .. Ok they real win with your videos for me is the level of humour injected (mentioned below - you're at times the Rifftrax version of your own video - it's awersome). I, like most folks trawling KZread for seriously talented people to follow I guess, kinda watch the same content a few times form a few different angles (for example, in my follow list Sycra, Todd Nauck, Cubebrush, Alphonso Dunn .. etc etc) But generally the Ahmed Aldoori ones are my favourite because they are plain fun to watch. If I had one small thought about a pain point (again for me, other's mileage may vary) it's that even with simple stuff like faces you make it look almost too easy - like "how the f' did that face become so good looking in so few strokes" - the drawing, not your face but hey .. run with it right? I recon the content is good - hair, hands, anatomy, colour therory, layout all of it does with with the Aldoori method =) Also if all your video's are $7 it might get expensive for me soon - my nonexistent children need to eat damnit (consider some sort of patreon subscription thingie perhaps). I guess we don't pay 1 liver and 2 kidneys for Art school in Australia so .. heck whatever floats your boat. TLDR: It's a humour!.

About part2 from gumroad: you don't have to speed up videos that much or even at all - it doesn't matter if it's a hairstyle tutorial and you're speeding up the skin colouring - seeing that process is valuable too and you know, if someone is impatient he can just skip a moment manually :) (also I don't think 7$ is too expensive - IMO it's ok)

I would like to see a bit more structure , for example talk about each topic seperately and more extensively before bring everything together in a demo i.e the highlights, reason for choosing colors and etc. ps love the rant but maybe that could be more suited for the demos and not really during the actual tutorial. just my 2cents or should I say 7dollars :)

+pan If someone ennoys you with that, you can remind them that "art" comes from the french word "artisanat" which means "craftmanship". By definition, art is at first a craft, and that includes illustration :) TO make it easier I make a distinction "art" and "creations", all art being creation but not all creation being art, because art is a craft before all, and not all creations are.

ikr, here in Kazakhstan one dollar is like 400 in local currency. I thought Ahmed wouldn't block his content behind the paywall. he can do whatever he wants but that was a little unexpected.

+Шизл манизл +Zacarovs There's still a bunch of free stuff, dear friends. It takes a lot of time (most of my weekends) and effort to make these videos, and the content I share with all of you is a culmination of a lot of investment from my behalf, both financially (art schools, workshops, etc) as well as the years I've put into my craft. So right now, that video is extremely ridiculously affordable compared to the many many thousands I've put in to learn what I know. $7...That's generously cheap compared to what you'd pay at a workshop or art school. I feel that some people aren't realizing how valuable this is, especially since most of it is free. It's not that I don't think my efforts are appreciated, I find it insulting that one would label it as "blocking content behind a paywall". That's like walking into a restaurant, they give you a free sample of something valuable (let's say, 6 months worth of free samples, and continued free samples anyway), and when they say they have other food that you can buy - you belittle their efforts by saying they're blocking you from accessing it. I was very serious about pursuing art as a career, so much so that a tuition of $17,000 per semester (which I could not afford) didn't stop me from applying and finding ways to make it happen - because I was determined. So it's quite baffling that something the price of a meal would raise disdainful sentiment (I don't know how much food costs where you live but...). *edit* I did some research and math for both Brazil/Brasil as well as Khazakhstan based on the cost of living/food prices. Yes, so the video is still the price of a decent meal. Drew Struzan, who went to Art Center and is one of the most prolific artists today - was extremely poor when I went to school. He didn’t have any money, he even starved a bit just so he could go to drawing class. Look at the Star Wars movie posters, that’s his job now. I’m not saying you should starve, I’m only highlighting some facts here. Offering extra content for money is part of an effort to establish a revenue stream so I can actually make more content for you guys, I have no desire to create a malevolent blockade against those who follow this channel.

+Ahmed Aldoori In my behalf I didn't mean to acuse you of anything and of course I understand you have to make something in return for the effort you put up to make this channel(which is awesome by the way). The thing is that I also spend my money in my art education, and since I don't even have "art center" or nothing even close to that around me, I pay for courses/workshops/schools online. The economy over here is at it's worst and even with this price tag of a "decent meal"(prettey decent I would say), it's pretty expensive to my financial situation right now. Just making clear that I wasn't disdainful in any way, I was just putting out my sadness for not being able to acquire this material of yours, which is one I was reeeealy insterested in. Keep up the good stuff.
