I've been watching your channel for a while now, and it's literally my favorite for skoolie buses! Not to mention I'm from Oregon too and you're just a super cool guy! I love your little home! It seems to have everything you need, and I'm excited to see what you do to rebuild in the future. My dream is to do a skoolie conversion someday. I've been single for about 7 years now and I don't want to wait until I have a partner to get out and see more of the world. I love to travel and see new places, but I'm also very much a homebody and hate leaving my fur babies. So I think this would be the perfect solution for me to see more of our beautiful country while being able to come HOME every night. I think it's brilliant that you turned your passion into a business. Thanks so much for sharing your little home as well as all the others you've featured! Wishing you happy happy traveling!!!👍🚎😉

If that skylight ever leaks try using a product called Solar Seal. It's what they use on windows and roofs and solar panels. It's better than caulk in almost everyway. It's waterproof with in 30 minutes of application and is completely set in 1-3 days based on humidity and temperature. Nice bus!

K, I love everything he said about freedom and keeping his options open. THAT is the reason I’m looking into bus life. I have been nomadic for almost two decades and I’m getting really tired of packing boxes all the time. This way, I’d have my house with me everywhere I go, and don’t have to commit to buying a static house and feel trapped.

If you use real 1/2" pine wainscoting, it doesn't warp bubble. I have it in my bathroom and kitchen, it great! Don't use quarter inch particle board, when it gets wet it falls apart.

You’re right. The insulation is only as good as your weak spots i.e all the glass. So unless you’re covering windows permanently. Save your money :)
@backyardbraaapn1017
3 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. The health hazards, from leaving the original insulation, are deadly. That being said, spray foam is no better bcuz it attracts and creates mold. Blinds can be made for the windows very easily and have an R-value. Sheep wool insualtion is the absolute only way to go
Perfect video. Great job explaining things. And telling the good, bad ... what you would do differently.

I agree with you not wanting a bed to take up so much of your space. I'm working on the design of my bus/van now and I'm not putting in a whole bed area. A nice seat that I can lounge and sleep on will be good enough for me. Thanks for the video.
Great video! I was just talking to my wife about how to do a shore power hook up. I told her I wanted to have it run to the batteries first as a way to keep them topped up and then use the power that way. Your build is pretty much what I want to do but hadn't gotten to the point of researching it since we are still in demo mode(just got bus a few weeks ago but have had real life in the way of working on it), so I thank you for that idea as well as many other great ideas to take into consideration as we get ready to build it.
