Hmm, this is a tough question. Cause I've hit them at different distance. I usually cast out far and bottom hop back to have more area coverage

Bro, about the first fish that u lost, may I know how heavy were your mainline and leader? Was the loss due to the lines?

Okay the fish I lost I was using PE2.5 and leader 50lb. Loss due to the reef cutting the PE line. That's why stiffer rod, longer rod heavier PE and long leader really does help in the prevention of this issue.
