Shopping in Russia
Where do Russians shop? Smashing Stereotypes from the Soviet Union, In shopping malls, of course! I'm in Moscow Russia at Aviapark Mall (Авиапарк) - Europe's 2nd largest shopping mall with hundreds of stores like H&M, Ikea, Uniqlo. Filmed in 2019. This place is HUGE! Russia's Largest Mall.
Click for more: petersfoodadventures.com/shop...
The foods in the food court are delicious, with so many varieties of cultural fast foods that we don't have at home. Plus the usual American fast foods too. Shopping in Russia is not what you stereotypically think, with people lining up for food in empty Soviet stores.
They have it all, a great experience to visit on a rainy day for some retail therapy. Even if you don't like shopping, come and check it out. Visited a Russian supermarket - Hypermarket Auchan (and the different way they do things), and showing a few different malls in Moscow. It's not the Soviet days.

Russia's Malls are a lot better looking than the Malls in the USA. In the USA the Malls are bland and looks run down.
@fasol1998
3 жыл бұрын
Some malls in Russia are in similar run-down condition. This is just a new one. It's one of the biggest malls in Moscow. It occupies what used to be an experimental runway for newly designed aircraft. It also has a metro station nearby and a lot of newly built blocks which attracts MOAR and MOAR people. Malls and new overcrowded neighbourhoods are spreading like cancer all around Moscow (SPb and some other big cities) as building apartment houses and malls is extremely profitable, though it ruins cities. These malls also attract big crowds of indolent youth wasting their time at shisha/hookah spots and alcohol bars, watching stupid movies at the cinema, and especially occupying all possible surfaces with their bodies in IKEA instead of doing something useful (studying, reading, doing sport etc). So IMHO it would be better if there were less malls here.

When I was there in 1984-85, the CCCP was in charge, never seen shelves this full, only partially stocked. And, the govt controlled the amount of things made and the prices(bad method). I had a great time, I wish all the countries the best!

Медведи понимали что идут сьемки для иностранных зрителей, на время не делали покупки в этом маркете. Пришлось им по старинке добывать еду лазя по деревьям.
Hey! It's not a largest mall man)) My office is next to this, empire tower. The largest is VEGAS.

Авиапарк - 227 000 кв.м. Вегас - 180 000 кв.м.
A mall is a mall no matter where in the world.
Man...everybody seems mild mannered and are dressed like decent people should...now think about our malls....no foul mouth group of sagging pants kids and grown men with hoodies walking in groups all talking at the same time...no people that you cant figure out if their a man or woman

So True. The people are more civilized. And American rioters like Antifa and BLM and what they have done to Portland...they would have a short life in Russia.
Wow amazing
Lining up for toilet paper is a US thing these days 😂😭

Looks like the malls in Scandinavia, they suck here...
The exit receipt….what if you had no purchases ?
@petersfoodadventures

basically, you exit the way you came in. You just can't exit from the pay area, which is kind of corralled in. I only saw it in this one retailer, no where else.
Do more video about Russia please.
Честно говоря я уже тридцать лет не была в России а в последнем раз была в Москве будучи ещё ребенком в эпоху советского союза и это был темным и грязным город но што я сегодня увидела на этом видио вергло меня в шок и я подумала не ужели это Россия
Are clothes expensive ?
@petersfoodadventures

I found that they were quite expensive. There is an outlet mall in Moscow, but I've never been.

Everything depends on where you buy. In the center of Moscow everything is always expensive, On the outskirts of Moscow the same thing, but much cheaper. For example, I bought nose drops near Red Square for 245 rubles, and on the outskirts of Moscow for 16 rubles, the same drops. With clothes, everything is the same. Turkish clothes in the clothing market (Turkish Jeans for example) will be 2 times cheaper than in the Store across the street. And in other cities of Russia it is even cheaper. Moscow is the most expensive.

Funnily enough I started to cook beetroot soup only after moving to Australia and getting organic beetroot from our friends garden. I have a recipe in my blog.

Most people under 35 have basic or pre-intermediate level of English. But there are few people who are fluent.

Not sure about the robot Barista. That's a bit sinister to me 🙂

lol - there's an outdoor kiosk in Zaryadye Park with a robot barista as well, for some reason I edited him out of my video :-/ (probably because it was -28° and I was cold, and couldn't pay for a hot coffee because my foreign card didn't work) 🤣

@@petersfoodadventures Your content is good, and you package it up nicely. Detailed but not excessively long. It's a shame people in The West still, for the most part, seem to think Russians live under a brutal reign of terror. An authoritarian regime. Clearly that isn't the case. But that robotic barista looks too much like a cyberman for my liking 🙂
