So shopify and squarespace are two absolutely dominant players in the website building space, but that doesn;t mean they are both great for you. In fact, they are both very different and they are very good at very different things, but it is not especially obvious for most people which one you should be getting
So in this video, we’re going to compare the two head to head and see which one is the best choice for you, whether you are a local shop, a fundraiser, a personal brand with merch, a dropshipper, or just looking to experiment with a new online business.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Background
Shopify and Squarespace have both been around for over 18 years
Squarespace is a jack of all trades
If someone asks to make a website, i will ask have you tried squarespace
Shopify is hyper focused on one thing and they are essentially the best at that
But that doesn;t mean it is alway better
Some people may want a podcast and a blog and very custom website but they also want to sell online, then maybe squarespace would be better
Design
Squarespace is really the king when it comes to website designs and templates
Shopify has 12 free and 171 paid themes/templates (approx. $300)
Over 168 Squarespace themes/templates and over 60 for online stores, all free
Or build custom with squarespace blueprint
Editor format
Winner: Squarespace
Pricing
Show prices and transaction fees
Latest prices and discounts are shown in the links in the description
Winner: Tie
Ease of Use
Squarespace is easier and has more native tools
Shopify is very streamlined and makes setting up a store a 30 minute process
We have a full tutorial on either one
Winner: Tie
Features and Apps
Shopify has over 2,400 apps (hard to find the exact number)
Many are paid
Squarespace has fewer integrations, but still includes the essential ones and for the most part offers more features natively. Their integrations/apps are a much newer addition to the Squarespace ecosystem
Shopify is more scalable for product libraries
Squarespace blogs are better in my opinion
Both have great support
Squarespace allows for podcast hosting
Sales Features
Squarespace accepts Stripe, PayPal, Squarespace payments, and Square which means visa mastercard amex discover apple pay, JCB, and more
Shopify accepts Shopify Payments and many more like Amazon Pay, Stripe, PayPal, Meta Pay, etc.
Shopify has more powerful ecommerce features for sure
Easily sell across multiple channels like Instagram, FB, TikTok
More advanced commerce analytics with shopify
Easier to integrate with POD or dropshipping suppliers on Shopify
Most commerce-centric apps are more optimized for shopify
Both let you define shipping zones, factor in weight, factor in value, and more
Both offer label printing
Winner = Shopify
Conclusion
Shopify is better for big and serious sellers or anyone looking to get into print on demand or dropshipping. With more apps, more scalability, and even dropshipping oriented software, Shopify powers countless stores across the internet
Squarespace is better for anyone looking to have a more well rounded website. If you plan to sell a small library of products but also want a blog, a podcast, many beautiful pages, or just a better website in general, Squarespace is the option for you
Whichever you choose, I have free training tutorials for both linked below.

After watching several of your reviews and tutorials, I think I will go with Squarespace for my art website. I’ll go thru your link here too. Quick question: once site goes live, can I adjust the website or even change the template at a later date? Or am I locked into my initial choice? Thanks!

I work for a jewelry wholesaler and we have 4 brands. Some are B2B and some are B2C. Which option do you think is better to build the website?

Does Squarespace have a secure email form that has the I'm not a bot as a easy integration? I know it sounds like an obvious question but if someone can confirm it that'd be great.

My dear, thanks for this video. I want to build a website store for drop-shipping, I bought a domain name from Squarespace I'm trying to create a website, but it was hard for me, I got stuck and I didn't find anyone to help me with it, I don't know what I have to do, even after I bought the domain name I didn't know what the second step to take is, they no chatting window to talk to some for help. I wish you could help to deal with Squarespace, After purchasing a domain name, what should be my next step? And how i transfer the domain to other site builder, but in same time I would like to deal with Squarespace.Even Squarespace's video tutorials on building websites are insufficient for E-commerce drop-shipping,. "They only discuss how to build hotel or food-related websites in their video tutorials."
