Would love to see a “pro” version that has the capability to add a 2-stage separator & 5-gal bucket on the top. That would be a cool add on.

Consider adding a vertical shelf for a bucket and a Dust Deputy or similar. I’ve added a Dust Deputy to both shop vacs in my garage and they help greatly with saving filters. On the Porter Gable vac I bolted the bucket to the top and it is more convenient than the Rigid with the bucket bolted to the side of the vac. Much less floor space. Thanks for the great videos!

Make another slightly smaller version and attach the two carts to form one cart. One side is shop vac, the other side for a small 3 or 6 gallon pancake air compressor. Add a power bar and the two are plugged in -- just add that mystery electricity stuff to the power bar. Viola! Two in One !!

I've been using CNC on wood products for ten years, and have always heard people say the muscle chuck had way too much runout to be useful. I'm glad no one told you! Nice to see someone actually use a product rather than simply express their "expert" opinion. You made me reconsider it.

Excellent concept! One thing I implemented on my shop vac setup is an off-the-shelf remote power switch. I keep the fob near the tools so remember to have it on hand, though I am considering creating a sleeve to mount it near the end. It comes in handy when you are 20' away from the unit and need to pause to move something or talk to someone. It's cheap and super-convenient.

Great video Izzy. The design process is something we really don’t get to see up close these days. With everything handmade, our grandfathers and great-grandfathers were much closer to the design process. My father was a boat builder...45-55’ wood. I remember hundreds of hours of head scratching “design” time as the boats were fitted out. Pretty much everything was custom, one-off work. Designing to those constraints was pretty much the same process except that we didn’t have the luxury of going through several iterations. Add to that, CAD was a inconceivable dream in the future to say nothing of CNC. Once again, thanks for a great video.

Izzy....I love the concept and design (with the changes you noted in the video). I do have one suggestion, though: MOST folks that subscribe to your channel will be perfectly capable of adding glue and screws. Adhering to the 'Lowest Common Denominator' approach for beginners (and, frankly, for people who always seem to be itching to find something to complain about!), you may want to consider pre-drilling where screws are indicated, and adding a bag of screws, casters....and maybe even a little sample size bottle of glue (maybe work something out with Tite-Bond, or someone like that). It might at least stop some people from using (and overtightening) fine-thread screws, among other potential 'beginner' problems. Personally, I'd buy at least one, either way!! Nicely done...and a great solution to a perennial problem!! :-)

I was just coming down here in the comments to suggest that. I have been kicking around making a cart for a separator and a older vac I have hanging out. The addition of cord storage and a cord reel is great! I had not though of the cord reel on it. The cart would allow me to tuck under a shelf I have in the garage. I would also suggest using locking castors if your driveway (like mine) is sloped. I use it to take care of the cars as well as things around the house. Having it with biggers castors would help getting it over threshholds and such as well.

Great idea. Well performed. A handle for the hose reel might be a plus. Also, the cart tips over when the vacuum is not on it. That doesn't look nice. Maybe it's better to enlarge the base part. For the rest it is a good product which will surely find its way to the costumers. I didn't look up how much the whole thing is going to cost. I have a price in mind, which I would be willing to pay (which is not representable for Americans) Thanks for sharing your idea and good luck with the sales. .

I like the concept, but as soon as you take the shopvac off the cart it falls over backwards and spills all your fittings on the floor. You can see that he always had a hand on the unit preventing it from falling over and that was without house or fittings. Maybe you could take the base out a little more towards the backside?

the only thing that keeps the idea from being 100% perfection you already mentioned and that was the hose going from the vac to the hose section. I made sure that mine fit perfectly by waiting until everything else was ready and I could place the cac on to the cart and make the hole across and I used a 2 inch PVC pipe to go straight to the hose's section.

I like it Izzy simply because it is easy to put together. Truthfully, I like the vac cart April Wilkerson threw together, overall it seems to be a bit dual purpose. I can put a small belt sander on top and the shop vac is right below. What I would like to buy is a flip top that I can use as a router table and flip over there is my harbor freight electric planer as a jointer. The sides of the flip top fold out and form my extension wings for the router and the planer. To expound on one of your previous projects, these flip tops allow the router and planer to be used vertically and horizontally. Whaddyasay Iz? Doable?

I can see you're designing it for multiple types of vacuum cleaners but you could have the vacuum cleaner on a lazy susan the disc at the bottom and then extend it up to another platform so the vacuum cleaner sits in a circular disc the circular disc will hold the hose you can pull the hose and it rotates the vacuum cleaner more compact may be better for storage.

To save on product weight and material costs you can cut the smaller parts out of the base under the vacuum, the back board or the hose reel discs. Add a few extra cut outs to "hide" the fact that you took the small parts out of the larger parts. Maybe if the hose reel could be horizontally on top or under the vacuum to cut down on the overall footprint and reposition the center of gravity.
