    Really quality build ur celica, Ive done the avensis brake upgrade, really eazy, just bend the brake shield back using pliers, transforms the brake feel, get rid of the spongy oem celica brake feel and looks more like a type r setup aswell :)

    Thanks friend! The Avensis setup sounds like a really good OEM+ upgrade for those who don’t want or need a 4 piston setup. I heard these rotors will match with my Rotora BBK so I’m gonna give them a shot.

    @@razvanlucescu1067 hi, its from the 2003-2008 TOYOTA Avensis II Station Wagon (T25) 2.0 D-4D (CDT250_), the brakediscs are 295mm. I used blueprint and TRW as a brake brands. Here is the serialnumbers for the brakeparts Ive used, if thats any help: Blueprint brakediscs: ADT343168. Blueprint brakepads: ADT342141. TRW left caliper: BHX519E. TRW right caliper:BHX520E. I didnt change the rears, so dont know there...But its a easy change, really changes the spongy brake feel, and looks nice as well :)

    Hello Ariel. I love your content and your knowledge regarding zzt231is amazing. Can i implement the "medium brake kit" swap with the standard 16 inch celica rims? Will they fit? Proud owner of a TRD sport M Celica no. 450 of 1200. Keep up the good work!

  • @TheMostAriel

    @TheMostAriel

    I am not certain. I think they would but am not sure. This swap is common overseas in europe where the brake rotors for the upgrade are easier to find. You'll need avensis calipers and rotors. It depends on your end goal for the car. To keep things simple during repairs I would just do nice pads and rotors and call it a day unless you want to go with a big brake kit.

    Im just wondering. I know youre going to turbocharge, or plan on it. The 2zz from my understanding, isnt friendly with more than roughly 8PSI of boost on stock internals. The question: will you be trying to push more than 8? If so, what kinds of parts will you be putting in to avoid any catastrophic engine failures. (Cylinder liners are a primo start)

  • @TheMostAriel

    @TheMostAriel

    4 жыл бұрын

    I don’t have stock internals in my 2zzge. The 2zzge loves boost. Best thing to do is ask yourself how much power will make you happy and then build to that spec. I believe MWR has surpassed 700whp on a 2zzge so your creativity will be the limit.

  • @TheMostAriel

    @TheMostAriel

    I built a zero mile short block with Mahle low compression pistons and a rebuilt head. My goal is 300-400whp. No need for sleeves if the cylinder bores are within spec for drop in pistons. Stock rods on the 2zzge are forged and have been known to handle 400whp no issue.

    @@TheMostAriel i was just thinking about the cylinder liner being made of MMC, which is very easily damaged. This will be one thing i aim to get changed if im going to go past 8 psi of boost. My 2zz is still stock to the bone, just using a cool air intake and custom exhaust. I do want her boosted later, and MWR is the first place i went to check out, so youre spot on there.

    2000-2001 Toyota Celica GTS will have the highest rev limit. I would go with those years but if you don’t care about the rev limit (200rpm difference I believe) Then any GTS from 00-06 will due. There wasn’t a lot of change between mode years.

    The thickness, center bore and height maybe off. I tried local models first but Toyota enlarged the center bore on their hubs from 54.1 to like 76mm so it’s a no go. The Avensis is a ZZ chassis code with some shared components.

    @@TheMostAriel I don't know what your final build specification is but just fitting a larger throttle body won't give you more power. The throttled area on the stock throttle is not limiting the engine. The required throttle size can be calculated. Going to a much larger throttled area will compromise driviability and this is why ITBs are often extremely sensitive at part load conditions. What is your planned final build specification? I happen to be an automotive engineer working in OEM engine development and calibration. I also have a 2zz Celica so I have been following your videos. Keep up the good content.
