I too am just learning of this. I am one of the legions who avidly watched Jim for years, loving his delivery and passion for all aspects of shooting, not just run-n-gun or fudd sport. He was a class act. May God have mercy on his soul and send comfort upon his family. I lost my father recently as well, my condolences to the entire Scoutten family.
Watched Jim for many years. He helped in promoting the gun sports and helped to bring many into the sport. We will miss him. God speed Jim.
This brought tears to my eyes. Shooting USA and Jim helped expose me to the world of firearms and the incredible guests they hosted. Jim’s voice resonated confidence and professionalism along with a profound appreciation and knowledge of firearms. Made for a super star of a host, I will truly miss hearing his voice.
I was always impressed with Shooting USA, and even more when I discovered it was hosted by father and son! Jim's voice will echo in my (& our) mind forever! Thank you for the years of great shooting content!
Another legend gone. R.I.P. Jim, thank you for many great memories.
This is my first time hearing about it. He was a legend. I grew up with watching him with my dad I really hate that. He will be truly missed 💔😢😢

He touched more lives than he probably would know and he will be missed rest in peace Jim
I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I really enjoyed his shows. One thing I'll always remember is when I would email Jim, he would always get back to me. May he rest in peace!
So very sorry to hear of his passing. May God be with his family and friends. He was a great example of an entertaining and informative man.
So sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I always enjoyed his show and loved his voice and catch phrase. God Bless to his family and friends.
As a kid in the nineties, Jim was more than just a memorable voice. He was definitely a huge influence on my love for the sport. Legend is almost an understatement for a person who was so influential to so many who never got to meet Jim. Thank you for existing.
A true legend in our sport! RIP, Jim!
Watched him weekly with my dad 25 years ago
Wow; really liked him. RIP
I saw Jim rehearse at the Masters in 91 or 92. Then when he got his show Shooting USA I sent him an email about seeing him at the Masters back in the day. Nice man and gone too. soon.
