I live in the USA...Love your videos...I am a subscriber. Being a disabled veteran I don't get out much but I love firearms history and as far as I am concerned you have one of the best and informative not just back powder but many ot5her historical guns as well. If I ever win the lottery I'll take care of your channel forever. PS ....I have a Uberti Remington and I use .457 ball. They aren't that hard to push in and give me a tight seal.

I AM thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Best thing on KZread for us, old timers, and newbies alike. I stumbled upon you when you did the Whitmore Rifle. You knew the history of it. I can tell you this I got my chance to shoot one several times in Bozeman Mt.many moons ago . Later my friend
That was some damn fine shooting. Great videos,I'm really enjoying the channel......... Thanks.
Great video,very interesting to see the effects of the different loads indeed.
Because of this video I purchased one. I can't wait to get it !!
The Pedersoli Remington replicas are very rare in the US. They are available in Europe and this model is still for sale in late 2021. Pedersoli also makes a hard chromed version which looks very nice. They are almost twice the cost of a similar Uberti. Thanks for the video.
Best looking version of the New Army I've seen.

Pietta does a really good job too.
That is a very nice pistol. Like all the Pedersoli line up. Very good quality stuff.
I have just acquired a pedersoli target myself (see my video) it is a lovely gun to shoot and superbly made. I have shot less than 50 rounds so far and I am able to get 3 inch groups at 25 meters it will only get better. Great videos from you and a great gun from pedersoli.
Enjoy your video's, entertaining and very informative, thank you
You do wonderful work with smile, nice job.
Well done presentation. Kudos!
I have two in the .44 Cal. one in the .36 Cal. and one in .31 Cal. also have conversion cylinders for each of them too. Enjoyed them for years.

Nice collection ! Can you confirm that the .36 caliber is based on the same " big" .44 frame with only a re-drilled cylinder & barrel ?
Great video - thaks. I learned a lot!
You do a good job very entertaining
interresting. thanks for the vid.
Nice video, You are correct to mike out the cylinder and press the bullet through to see what actual caliber size projectile would be best for it. My VKV BG 456 Universal Bullet would work well in that Revolver. It is 240 grains and packs a wallop, designed for hunting and very accurate for target shooting and Cowboy Actions shooting competition as well.
very good and interesting video, thank you!
I must try your loads in my Ruger Old Army. Interesting work.
I love it when you can see a bullet in the air.
Hello capandball. Very beautiful weapon that this Pedersoli, I hope that soon after some savings, I could come to add this one to my Colts Uberti and Remington Pietta. Incredible your shooting with only 5 grains of black powder. Thank you.

modelmaker78 uberti vs pedersoli, one better than the other, the same?
@modelmaker7847

McBears1 I think that Uberti and Pedersoli cooperates for the manufacturing of certain models. It seems that the 1858 Remngton is identical at both marks, the difference is the adjustments more tightened for Pedersoli which is optimized for the competition, comparable to a weapon of match. What would explain the price difference. beryllium nipples for Pedersoli.
the other day I asked if you worked for Pedersoli and I should not have ask that. I hope I did not offend and I apigize. keep up the GREAT videos.
Really nice 👍
That small amount of powder is a legendary amount :O
I do like that pedersoli remington. I used to have an uberti remington .44 and an uberti remington .36 and in my .44 I would use 30 grains of 3f and a Cabela's lubed felt wad and a 200 grain lee mould conical and from 30 feet I got good enough accuracy. I could fire 6 shots and hit all 6 within a 6 inch paper plate. With the .36 I used a 122 grain lee mould conical and 25 grains of 3f and a Cabela's lubed felt wad and from the same distance I got the same accuracy doing 6 shots in a session
When using the 5 grains load - what load you used for the corn semolina?
Have the cylinder of Pedersoli Remington interchangeability with Uberti Remington?
I swear I have the same exact necklace it's just a tad smaller and solid sterling silver
what was the mix you were using at the end,
How do you think this compares to uberti's version? I understand this maybe compairing apples with oranges, but would appreciate your thoughts. And on side note enjoy your videos.
Please do a video on the Santa-barbara Remington.
I was, looking at your website , but can't find price lists your goods you sell.
Hello, I`m suscriber of your channel, and I would like to ask you, do you think that the Remington Hege Match Maximun is still one level above the Pedersoli Target Custom? Thank you
How is the gap between the grip and rear of the trigger guard in comparison to the Pietta version? I've always had trouble with my fingers jamming up against metal.
So happy that KZread has very little add's I have used black powder for year's nice to have a modern firearm but you need to learn from the start first.
If Pedersoli was going to do this they should have built a copy of the Remington 1858 New Army I would have been interested in that. I don't want incorrect copies of period gun. One reason I don't like Pietta 1851 Navy revolvers is the grip shape it is wrong. I buy Uberti because it is a better copy. The best copy of an 1860 Army is the Belgium Colt 1860's made in the 1960's and imported under the name of the 1960 Centennial New Army. It is as close to an original as you will ever see.
I now own 4 of these !!!!!!!

I have almost every repo of this gun, how do you like this one?
is that in your opinion best black powder replica to buy?
How about 457 bullet ?
capandball , did your heard about puting grease under the bullet? I heard it works better
@Jrhoney

If you put it under the ball you will contaminate the powder charge which could cause it to not ignite.
@deandeann1541

In my opinion it does work better - it spreads grease through the cylinder and helps to stop corrosion. But you must use a felt or cardboard patch under the ball to prevent powder contamination, and dont use much grease.

I just love these brain dead comments !!!!@@deandeann1541
Would you not be better off loading a waxed wad below the ball istead of using grease ? Nice video all the same.
It is a shame that they don't have a quick change variant of the Remington New Army black powder revolver, it would be a big hit with the cowboy action crowd
Ok, thanks!
That is a really nice looking Remmington, Do they sell those in the US?

Very interesting video and well made. Only 5 grain for the best load, wow. Is there a minimum load for percussion revolvers? It would be interesting to test how much less you can load before the bullet would stuck in the barrel.

Did you say you add corn meal on top of the black powder?

so can i use 45 bullets in my 44?
@556suppressor
Жыл бұрын
I use Hornady .454" round balls.
Remember to point out your point of aim on the target..
The reason why you put grease on top of each ball, is to avoid ignition of all other chambers when firing, as the bullets would hit the frame, destroying it and your hand along. So it’s for safety. Not so much to oil the barrel.

I'm not familiar with "whet." Maybe there's a different word for it in English? Is it wheat maybe? Thanks!

"Whet" in the context of a firearm sight (and other) is to "sharpen" by careful adjustment. And it is an ENGLISH word.

When I do reduced loads in my brass cased handloads, corn meal is used the keep powder in palace
If I want a modern firearm I would buy one; but if I want an 1858 (1863-1875) Remington I would like it as close to the original as possible except made with modern steel.
