I am an Indian and I have seen scenes like this only in Telugu films and hindi films.

There was even a serial where the llead actress was shot at head and still managed to give a whole lecture on how much she loved her husband. Made him buy a flower and later into the episode she was even saved through a surgery and returned home in a day.
