Kathrin

Could someone explain where the term "Teufel Hounden" (I probably butchered the spelling on that) "Devil Dogs" in english, so I'm told? I gather there is a back story/myth to that phrase. Anja talks very fast, is she an auctioneer?😉

What happens if you just use the informal with everyone? Does it really matter whether you use formal and informal? I don't understand why in many European languages they use formal and informal, seems like a class system? I understand if you are a Solicitor or working within law, letters and communications should be informal. All the informal, formal, masculine/feminine makes these languages seem very archaic and harder to learn. English really does seem like the best most evolved straight forward language. I thought German was going to be similar, it appears that this is not the case.
