Late to the party here, always the best detailed stuff with Seth and Daniel N.s videos from Adorama - Thanks! Would be really nice to see more videos on black and white portraiture!
Count me in for more gel work with B/W! That was awesome!

Glad you liked it. It’s fun to mess with for various reasons but can also totally wreck your shot lol
Seth; Would love to see more videos on gels with b/w. I enjoy shooting b/w also. You do sell us something. You sell us for FREE all of your wonderful knowledge and that is priceless. Love all your videos and all the teaching you do.

Bro, I'm loving these. Also, love the way you shoot... great pace and just on it!
Man, I miss running to Adorama on my lunch break. In Japan now. Such a unique vibe in that store.
Ive seen all those videos, Seth, but because they're all interesting, it's fun to see them again. Thanks for these memories!

@@LastXwitness thank you for your response. I want to deeper into the knowledge of everything. I watched all your videos and learns so much about photography from you, Joe, Daniël, Gavin and Vanessa in the past. You guys are the best and however the lives are to late in the evening for me (the Netherlands) I love them very much.

Yea it’s been really amazing having Peers like Dan joe and Gavin for all theee years it’s something I try not to take for granted hopefully we can do more stuff together just hard to sync up
Hey @lastxwitness, i’ve snapped photos my whole life, but just recently became serious about doing it semi-professionally. I have learned so much from you, Dan, Gavin, and the rest of the Adorama crew. I’ve recently found myself drawn to black-and-white imagery. I’d heard talk of using jells in black-and-white, but never saw the principles applied. I love all your videos. Please don’t get discouraged. I pick up a new technique or nugget of knowledge from every one I watch. Keep them coming.!
Definitely a video on using gels in monochrome (not necessarily B&W) imagery. 👍

Noted!
Very interested in more B&W gel tutorials. Thank you Seth.
Awesome mic settings, man. And, of course, fantastic lighting. I'm taking notes.
This video was awesome! I just didn't consider using a gel with black & white, but I'm anxious to try it now. Thanks so much!!
Really fun and useful video. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for checking it out !
As someone who just ordered a Sony A7III the other day, and a total beginner in photography who still doesn't even know how to use his camera, I watch your and Daniel's recordings and live streams religiously, and like a sponge I absorb everything I can for some future days when I can apply everything I "stole" from you. Great explanation techniques, very creative style, great instructions and tips on how to approach shooting. I always look forward to a new video. Just carry on as before. Really the best. Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany
Great video. Yes have another vid on color gels sounds good. Thanks.
Great video. Thanks for reposting it. I missed it the first time around.

Brilliant video Seth
I'd really love how to to take 'proper' BNW. I just love it.
Wish I could do capture one would make a big difference in my photography I’m pretty certain but I don’t make enough money to afford all the fun toys. I still use the old Photoshop CS6 gives me pretty much everything I need done.

If it helps there’s always the 30day free trial if you want to see if it’s even something you’d like and there always sales on it as well in fact adorama usually has deals on a license from time to time. Especially if you’re buying a camera it’s like half off or something crazy
Glad you uploaded this video, great work! Vertical, horizontal doesn't matter, the content is great! Gels with black and white will be fantastic for a video +1!
Hello Seth, Yes I love black & white but it does now seem to be more arty than commercial images as long long ago in the universe all news papers were B&W. I just so old now. Keep well, keep safe and please stay entertaining and inspiring.
Thumbs up buddy 👍and vertical format is not a problem whatsoever and the demos are brilliant 👏👏
Great video Seth! Keep on bringing these back from the bolt! 👌🏻👍🏻
Great video mate, my favorite style of photography is black and white portrait and I love that your not trying to sell anything mate. I hope more photographers stubble across the golden information in this video, really great content mate can't wait to see more content from you in the future

Although there are certain disease and health situation indicators that can be observed in the eyes (note: 'eyes'), peer-reviewed studies have shown no evidence in support of the thesis of iridology, in particular that so called zones in the iris are linked to areas of the body and can show health issues with those areas.
I love the info. I used color gels in my black and white before but it was always cto & ctb I never tried the other colors so this was super interesting. I am going to have to try that more.
Don’t like verticles but thanks for reposting…. Great stuff!!!

I'd like to see more videos on using gels with Black and White photography. I never knew that was a thing. When I shot Kodak T-Max 100 years back, I used filters; mainly red, green and yellow. Also, you mentioned Event Space at Adorama. Will that ever come back?
Definitely going to be doing more black and white portraits.
Hi Seth. Am I not remembering correctly or didn't we used to use a green filter for b&w male portraits because it "roughened" the skin texture?
@LastXwitness
Жыл бұрын
Yea but it’s not the same really since a lens filter globally effects the frame so in a sense it also effect shadow. Where as creating green light falls off to the shadow so it’s not really there the same way
Hey Seth. Does your tether block with quick release levers. Mine fits way loose. My L brackets all work ( Kirk, RRS, Leofoto, etc ) but can’t get it tight on this block. Looks exactly like the other arca Swiss accessories. Any ideas? Thanks.
@LastXwitness

I’m not 100% sure what your question is. What are you trying to mount the tether block to? Also you can get different 1/4 20 thread screws you may need a different length
