I just went from a 27.5 dl to a 28 and with my release ser the way I like it and my anchor point is right where you explained in this video. I got my first Robin hood at 30 yards the other day and yes it was expensive but cool at the same time. At first the anchor point made me question if the DL was too long since the 27.5 had me anchoring with the v of my index and thumb around my jaw line but since the DL was change it made all the difference in the world. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. You have been a huge help to me as I am a newbie

I’ve done the “horseshoe” anchor since I started and never had an issue. I started using a single pin sight a few years ago then got a new bow a year or two ago and started not being able to get the full range out of the sight. I may have to try changing my anchor. I just wish I had a shop near me.

I felt like my draw was a touch long but if I went shorter I had to dip my head to get the tip of my nose to the string. Thank you so much. Awesome video. Especially for me, as I just started. What sucks now is you have to wear a mask at a lot of ranges, and for a beginner, it makes it harder to really get the nose and tip of the mouth anchors. Feeling those through the mask is not great. Thanks again for great content!

I think I have been drawing and anchoring short. Transitioning from Olympic recurve to compound. Waaaaay different anchor point. After watching this video I have tried to get my index knuckle to a place near the corner of my jaw with my release. Close, but I think I am a bit short and cannot have relaxed shoulders. I have contacted my shop to see if I can get a module for a longer draw length. This video might really make the difference in my shooting. Thanks for always making great content.

Awesome Video! it's like my best friend and me just talking about bow shooting. Wish I knew your name. but here is my question. I am a eye disability that prevents me from touching the string to my nose. When I do I can't see the target with my RH sight. with that said. I find it hard to find a repeatable anchor. which release do you think would work the best to achieve a repeatable anchor. Thanks

Is it possible some people would benefit from changing their release to a different style based on their face/jaw shape?

If it feels right, do it? I had consistency issues following tips from others so developing my own "process" where I focused on getting my thumb bend pressed into my jaw line first, then rotating my hand in until my index knuckle presses agaisnt the tragus of my ear. Had to play around with how much pressure I jammed into my ear but always came back to a sweet spot between firm and uncomfortable and it's been working.

Should you be able to slide the peep by hand? Or should it be so tight it has to be re-served? Also, do you "mark" your peep serving with a paint pen so you can check to see if it moves throughout the season?

Due to an accident as a child, I had the cartridge removed from my nose, which resulted in a flat nose. I have to tilt my head extremely in order to touch my nose to the string. I currently use the corner of my mouth and jawline as anchor points. Any suggestions on getting my nose on the string or is it needed? I shoot pretty well, but would like to get better.

You could try the Bowmar nose button (or something similar) he talked about in the video. Would depend a bit on amount of cartilage removed, but using the large button would maybe ‘replace’ 1/8” -1/4” of cartilage. Could always add a thick bead of a rubberized adhesive around it to allow your nose to touch even earlier. And/or, you could try the ala of your nose instead of the apex. Just my thoughts... no expert.

Before buying a nose button, you can try putting a kisser button on your string where your nose should touch. Just a cheaper option.

If you string isn't hitting your nose 1 of two things is happening. Either A. You draw length is too short. B. You front bow arm is dropping increasing the distance between your anchor and grip, not allowing your string to touch your nose proper.
