I grew up with so much respect for all kinds of music (from heavy metal to swing to funk to soul to bluegrass and literally anything else you could think of in-between!) but R&B, this 2000s R&B just has a sonicism to it that still feels so darn fresh. As a kid, I didn’t much care for or pay attention to the lyrics, but the FEEL of this music lasts. Now, in 2023, I’m married to the literal love of my life, we have dog sons, and are swinging back at life harder than life swings at us and I cannot thank God enough for great music and a lovely life 🙏🏻😭🔥

I still those days when we didn't have the internet and I had to watch MTV for hours just to wait for this song to come on 😭

How did we forget this girl with this and "impossible" I graduated in 2011 and people in my clique era who didn't have the MTV channel or watching music videos didn't pay attention to artists names more or less assumed these were Rhianna. I remember when this song came out i was 14 or 15. And every morning i tried to wake up early, buy myself a bread for breakfast, turn on the tv and waiting for this song to show up on MTV. That was my morning routine, couldnt start a day without watching MTV. It brings back so much memories!!!
