Thanks Stephen😁Very Informative and Personally Useful and Appreciated.
Thanks for the review, I just bought these headphones and went for a run on the beach and was amazing, a totally different, more alive experience :)
Pro tip. You can use ear protection with these such as the foam ear plugs or the combat style ones. I work in a manufacturing environment where the workers are allowed to listen to headphones. When the CNC is cutting loudly or someone is hammering...etc put ear plugs in. Fun fact, the headphones then sound much fuller and richer. Test it next time you have your Shokz on. Play your favorite track, then plug your ears with your pinky's. HUGE DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY!

Totally with you regarding your view on Bone conduction for trail running or street running, No one should be running with headphones that block off the outside world. Not safe to run without hearing your surroundings. Love my Aeropex but you have me thinking of upgrading.

Do you like the pros? :D
Does the multi pairing work at the same time from both phones for Open Run Pro? I have the Aeropex. But it didn't work if the two mobile phones screen are open. I need to turn off the screen of one phone to hear the sounds playing from my other phone. But it is connect at the same time, I'll just need to turn off the screen on the other phone to work properly.Not like in my Plantronics Voyager both phone's Bluetooth are working same time even the two phone are open screen.
Thanks for the review, Stephen! I had never considered bone conducing headphones, but your what you said about the downsides of regular in-ear headphones rang true with me. How well do bone conducing headphones work in noisy environments, for example when running along a busy road? Since they don’t block environmental sound from entering the ears, can you actually hear whatever you are playing on them?

You can still wear foam ear plugs when you want to block out environmental sounds. Test it out by putting your Aftershokz (Shokz) on like normal, play your favorite track, then plug your ears with your pinky's. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
I have no idea how any different styles of headphones I've worn for leash free dog running and work. The open runs are hands down the best headphones I've ever used, I just ordered the pros today I cant wait to rock em tomorrow!
I have worn out my aeropex so now is the time.
Nice! Although my Aftershockz aren't that old 🤔 I shouldn't upgrade... I love the carrying case!

Don't upgrade, is basically the same just a little tweak.
Great review! My head measures 8 3/4" ear to ear, behind the ears. Love the Pro....but concerned about band sticking too far out behind my head. Are you able to wear hoodies and winter hats (toques) with the Pro's? Might I ask your measurement behind your ears, to compare? Alternative would be the non Pro mini. Thoughts? Many thanks.

Shokz offers a openrun mini option for people who have smaller heads.
I am looking into BCH for work (I work in an office setting) as well as working out. I am a mom of little ones and when I'm running on a treadmill with my music it's hard for my kids to talk to me where I can hear my music and hear them too. I don't necessarily want people around me to hear what I'm listening to....can people hear what is playing? Thank you for your time and your review!
Brilliant headphones for anything outdoor, love them…
I'm looking for a quality bone-conduction headset to use with my Bluetooth-enabled Samsung smart TV (UN49KU7000F). The TV has no way to modulate the volume. Can Beatolo do this?
The best way to explain the feeling of wearing bone conduction headphones are like sitting in a room with music playing in the background, where you can enjoy the music but still have conversations with people at the same timw

Great description!
Great video, but I'm interested to know if the downgrade from IP67 to IP55 is a problem, like in super heavy rain/sweat, and can you rinse to clean etc. I guess the new bass system has compromised water resistance

This is the reason I haven't upgraded. I wear my aeropex every day in the shower and although I could always put the aeropex on when I shower but something in me just wants to wait till the next iteration

IP performance is my biggest concern. I'm not not bothered by better bass, but I would appreciate an extra 2-hours of battery life, and the app might be useful. I am not planning to wear them in the shower. But, I ride in humid and sweaty weather. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Cheers
Looks Good Sir
How have you found bone conducting headphone sound when the wind is blowing past your head? With in-ear headphones I find the experience is greatly diminished because of the wind noise, and when it’s moderately windy I can’t hear the music at all.

I'm using my aeropex to listen to this video now and it's super windy in the California valley. I have no issues hearing this video.
Would you buy the Openrun Pro over The Philips bone conductions...
Hi, I got the Aeropex about a year ago and thought they were great. My pup also thought they were a great toy and chewed them so I will be replacing. One concern with the Openrun improved base would be sound leakage (wasn't a major problem with Aeropex, but was with previous bone conduction headphones). My question is between these two is there any difference in sound leakage? Thanks, Stuart

i tend to wear my aeropexs for 8+ hours, right around hour 6 they start to get uncomfortable, my experience with these headphones in loud environments is not exactly amazing, but it was possible to hear with external sounds around 80-90db sounds, iacacoustics has a useful chart for comparing examples of noise levels, like a freight train going by about 50 feet away is about the max sound it can take before it becomes hard to hear clearly
@hellzbellz1234

the music blasting in my warehouse over the loudspeakers can sometimes drown them out, i wouldnt recommend these if you work on an airfeild but if you work in a shop you will be able to hear as long as your not using an impact in a wheel well or similair volumes, air comp might be hard to hear over
@jameskupfner

Wear foam ear plugs in a loud environment while still listening to your Shokz like you normally would. Actually makes your music sound much fuller. Give it a test next time you are wearing them. Play your favorite track and the plug your ear holes with your pinky fingers. HUGE DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY!!!
I'm looking into these for work, I work in a hospital and dnt like tht I can't hear my coworkers with my buds in I'm looking at the mini aeropex
I've used aeropex for years and after watching multiple videos comparing them I decided to go and buy the new open run pro . My opinion the aeropex sound better , they are louder and the sound is more rich and has better depth . With the open run pro in bass mode they don't get loud enough , if you choose vocal then they get louder but it loses sound depth, I had to download an EQ app that I paid $5 for to drastically improve the sound quality of the open run pro which boosted sound loudness with adding bass and the choice of multiple EQ settings . I was disappointed with open run pro for the only option of having 2 EQ settings when the aeropex has multiple choice EQ settings by holding down the audio + - I wouldn't buy the open run or open run pro I'd instead hunt down a brand new pair of aeropex instead.

Interesting, I haven’t actually used the app as was very happy with the stock settings. I’m my testing I really did feel the Open run sounded better and haven’t had issues with the volume. Although I do mostly run in quieter outdoors environments

hi, ihave the aeropex worth upgrade to openrun pro?
Have you noticed any rattling with these? I had to replace my aeropex 4 times, because the rattling was unbearable.
@StephenJReid
2 жыл бұрын
Nope zero rattling. Not with my Aeropex either, strange issue. You mean like something loose inside?
What doesn't make any sense is if you go to Amazon the OpenRun (which is the upgraded version of Aeropex) is only $130. Where is the Aeropax is still $170. The difference between the OpenRun and the Aeropex is that the OpenRun has a faster charging time and a "improved 5.1 Bluetooth connection." As long as the Bluetooth connects I don't see how that makes any difference. The only reason I'm getting new ones is cuz my previous ones broke due to the Power button being stuck. So I think to combat this they made bigger better durable buttons on the OpenRun & OpenRun Pro series. Has anyone else had problems pressing the power button after 2 years of owning Aeropex? Share your thoughts and tell what you think about all of this. Civilly and respectfully of course! 😊

@@StephenJReid My Aeropex are a little snug - how much bigger are the OpenRun Pro's - 0.5 or 1cm?
There is one thing I don't like about the Open run pro. If you use these with your ears blocked, the extra bass diminishes the sound quality. If you block your ears when using the open run, the sound quality is flat and rich. If you do it while using the open run pro, the sound is bass heavy.

@@StephenJReid yeah using them with ear plugs is a common and very useful feature, it allows the best level of ear protection possible for use in construction/military/loud external music but allows you to still listen through your bones. With custom ear plugs this setup has the best isolation possible

You did say to me watch this space lol. I love my Aeropex and yes it does lack bass. They are by far the best for safety in a busy environment. I can't fault them. It was your original video that made me buy them. If Aeropex would send me a new pair to test lol no likely to happen. Cheers
