Shogun 2 Massive Battle - Normandy Beach Invasion (3,183 vs 12,000) HD

"Shogunate D-Day, June 6, 1864.
Battle took place on the beaches in front of Edo, which is now Tokyo. The Shogunate clan Aizu planned to assault the Imperial capital Edo, kill the Emperor, and return back to the Shogunate government. Imperial spies heard about this plan and and quickly informed the Emperor. He quickly assembled a small army consisting only 3,183 men. These 3,183 men were under the leadership of General Oda. A trustworthy friend and general of the emperor. Oda wasted no time since the invasion was going to start in three days and quickly set up cannons, gatling guns, and other fortifications. He finished his defenses just a few hours before the invasion started.
The Aizu were on the beach in no time. 12,000 troops in standard line formation across the beach started to march towards Oda's position. Cannons fired across the beach and started quickly killing troops. In groups of 10's or 20's, men flew across the beach, limbs being torn off. Men covered in blood and screams of the injured soared across the beach as they were marching. No one went to help the injured since their mission was to break Oda's position and wait for reinforcements so they could start besieging Edo. Gatling guns mowed down troops faster then they could breath, killing off 2 squadrons of men before they reached to the first line of cannons. The frontline cannon crews were quickly killed off by gun fire and melee. Oda repositioned his infantry to return fire. At first Aizu had the upper hand since they were already in firing position, they won a few melee skirmishes against Oda's men, but Oda's men quickly reformed and started to kill them off with ease. All of the Aizu's generals and most of the captains were dead within a matter of minutes of the invasion, it was up to the lieutenants and officers to give out the orders, but didn't know what to do since they were surrounded. Going on the boats wouldn't work since the cannons would just sink them. There was no option for escape. Aizu's men were slaughtered like animals on the green hills and the sandy beach. Blood ran down to the ocean giving a light crimson red for a week.
Out of the 3,183 soldiers that were under the command of General Oda only 1,631 died. While all 12,000 Aizu soldiers were killed off. All of their heads were sliced off and sent back to their territory for their families to see the disgrace they brought upon themselves. If they couldn't find any pieces of the head they would just send off another part of their body.

+Tok Ang any luck getting past realm divide came close to overthrowing the shogunate but my ally was to powerful and took my weakend state and unguarded flanks to his advantage

Bravo! One infantry only against himself exposed, without cavalry to karobley shelling. And Shot her, the great commander.
This one reminds me of descriptions of Omaha Beach, Normandy, FRA. Suppose the defense had a yet more comprehensive mix of weapons than shown here. Battalions of archers could be stationed near the artillery and Gatling guns, or alternately at positions a given distance behind the infantry lines. Cavalry with bow and spear would be useful as a flying reserve. By the 1860's, riflemen packed bayonets for the merge; issuance of swords to artillerymen and foot archers would be a wise standard procedure against enemy overrunning a critical part of the line. The missing element of the attack is shipboard artillery, which would doubtless attempt to knock out defending artillery and Gatling guns at terrain suitable for scaling.

how do i install maps???!!! i downloaded the custom maps then opened appdata/roaming/the creative assembly/shogun 2/ then created the maps folder and placed those maps in there but that didnt worked! the custom maps didnt showed in the game!! any helps!??

Nothingness of Nowhere No problem! I probably won't be doing any shogun 2 campaigns for a while, unless they release a mod with china included as a conquerable territory.
What happened to the sound towards the end?

GeneralOda ive tried alot of things but the game will launch and i can see it in my processes but nothing comes up on screen it just stays on my desktop =/

Laycossify I usually get prompted for DX9 or DX11 and that keeps me on the desktop usually. Uninstall and reinstall?

sooooo how do i switch it so i am on the beach? the ai is almost incapable of taking ground from me o.o sooo i wanna see if i can do it. when i switch to attacking, all it does is have me in the same side, but without coastal guns.

this would probably have actually happened if the Americans didn't Bomb japan in World War II, though the Marines still probably would come out victorious in the end anyway, but at great cost
the last guy got absolutely wasted. if only thy made a mod that will make severed limbs, THEN that guy wouldn't had any limbs to send back home
