Using the SRL-2 buttons with gloves is almost impossible, particularly turning it on and off, ie: pressing two buttons at the same time. This fumbling can also cause the unit to crash, requiring a full physical factory reset. I ended up installing a Sena wrist remote on a little easily made custom mount near the LH switchblock on my bike. S-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o much easier to adjust volume 😁. Unfortunately the speakers in the standard SRL2 are crap and one is now crackling. With the crackling speaker and the fact the unit is continually crashing now I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the SRL-Mesh but I'll still be using the remote control. (Good to see a video with someone riding on the PROPER side of the road even if it is north of the border 🙃 ). Thanks for putting the effort into doing this review.

Hi, couttst222. Yep, the buttons are an absolute pain to use. Everything else is working fine, though. Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Thanks for the tip on the wrist mount - I’ll look into it. I’m pleased you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Len

I can't get used to seeing you drive on the left side of the road! Freaks me out every time! You'd think they'd design the buttons for motorcyclists based on the assumption they're wearing gloves. I have so much gadgetry on my helmet now, I don't think I want any more. I already have the GoPro mount and GoPro on the chin, plus the Brake Free helmet brake light on the back. That would be three things I'd need to mess with and keep charged. Too much to deal with and starts getting pretty clunky. Enjoy that apple juice, Phil! 🕶👍😎🏍🏍🏍🍺👌👌👍👍🥃

Phil has just flow to California. I’m pretty sure he’ll try some apple cider as well as some driving on the wrong side of the road while he’s there 😁👍

Hi there. Im from NZ. thank you for the review. im wanting the neotec II and the integrated sena, however im taking your suggestion and waiting for sena to re-design 'hopefully' a more glove accessible approach. Those buttons look far to hard to use with gloves on and from your review, I have confirmation. Im totally put off purchasing until sena sort this issue out. Who knows, the neotec III might come out at the same time.

Hi, Janice. I’ve been using the Neotec II for over a year now and have found that instead of using two fingers to turn on, etc. I can press the middle button with a finger and then at the same time roll that finger to press either the forward or back button. That works well with bulky gloves as well as with thinner gloves. It’s not ideal, but works well… most of the time. Apart from that, the helmet and the intercom are great. All the best with your helmet/intercom search. Cheers, Len

Any chance you can do a video on updating the software?

Greetings, SuperGizzmo . I haven’t had to do the update on my system as all seems to be working ok atm and I haven’t looked into it. Sorry I can’t help you with that. However, one thing I have found out with my helmet is that the control buttons work best if I press the middle button with one finger and just roll it forward or backwards to the side buttons. It’s so much easier than trying to get two fingers on seperate buttons while wearing gloves. You may already know this, however… Thanks for subscribing - it’s very much appreciated. Cheers, Len

Hi, Juan. It’s actually a wax cotton jacket made by RST. It’s in the style of the old Belstaff jackets. It’s my favourite mid season jacket and has a removable warm liner, but no armour. Cheers, Len
