For me, I am normal height and large chested and most of the time when I look at myself I feel like all I see in my outfits is my chest 🤪

Same here. An added issue is that I have small feet (sz 4.5) so it's harder for me to find cute shoes to go with my outfits (unless I'm willing to spend over $80/pair).

I really appreciate you explaining so much about WHY some things work and some combinations don't. I now understand why sometimes things feel "off" and I have some tools to create more flattering outfits. Thank you!

I totally agree. I believe that we in Lydia's audience have, at the very least, a good basic sense of style (or we most likely wouldn't be watching). However, I for one, really want to work on 'upping my styling skills game' and put together the most attractive outfits from what's already in my closet...and noy what pieces are still needed.

Lydia, you are honestly a styling hero. I really enjoy your content and despite being 20 years older than you (SOBS) I always learn something. Love your style xx

Full length, straight leg jeans are the toughest to properly pair/find balance with shoes in my opinion. Would love a video showing shoes for straight leg denim: full/cropped/slight flare

Thank you for showing completely reasonable examples of what doesn’t work rather than something extreme to contrast with the example that works better. I have made similar mistakes without being able to pinpoint what had gone wrong or thought I couldn’t wear a certain length or style of skirt or pants because I paired them with the less flattering shoe. Maybe I will try a balloon style of pant after all. I never had heard of them prior to starting to follow you recently. I am learning so much.

Please please please do more videos like this with styling advice, it’s so useful and everyone can adapt what they have in their wardrobe rather than buying more clothes 👍😃❤️

Loved this video, its so helpful!! I would love a video on proportions generally - sometimes I feel like something is just a little too oversized or not enough etc. Would love your knowledge on that. Visual examples of doing it wrong versus doing it right is also extremely helpful so thank you for that x

Great video! Love your examples and that you actually model the do’s and don’ts. Really solidified the concepts. 🙏✨💕 Sometimes, I get confused between “matching the style/vibe” and “adding an edgy twist”, if that makes sense. It can be difficult to walk that line between adding some interest but not making it awkward. 🤔😉

I finally started renovating my wardrobe over the past year and find myself finding your advice super useful!! Especially the 5 outfit rule!! Love all the detail, principles, and visuals, brilliant! Also the nod to different body types: I love my skinny jeans with a chunky winter sweater, but now I know how to be more thoughtful about shoe pairings with that look!

This format is extremely useful - when you like what it in your closet - and just want to put it together in the most flattering way.

More please. Love the "rules" to guide outfit component balancing. Brilliant content! Examples of what I mean are rules for creating best combos such as trouser/top(s), skirt/top, shirts/bottoms, etc.

This is extremely useful, in particular as shoes changed sooo much since before lock down and most of us were stuck working from home not using or sewing shoes on a daily basis. Please speak more about shoe styles and how they make or break an outfit.

Totally went out the door tonight with a midi dress and ankle boots and not quite sure why the shoes didn't go with the dress. Now I understand why lol. It was that the ankle boots that cut off the leg when instead I needed higher boots that get cut off. I love how you explain these concepts. It's very logical and easy to understand. Much appreciated!!!

Excellent video with tips 👍 if you do another video on shoes perhaps some details of colour of shoes with bags and the whole outfit with the bags and shoes may be helpful. Traditionally bags were mostly supposed to match in colour but nowerdays that’s not the norm so some discussion or tops on that . Thanks

This is a great video. Please do more of these. Trying on for us and showing why something doesn’t work and which items do work and why. Thank you for your videos - this was very helpful! I think body shapes factor into whether some of these styles work because I'm a pear shape and chunkier shoes often visually balance out the heavier hip area and draw attention away from it

Great video, Lydia! Very helpful tips and examples. The problem I have is that the high heeled sandals are not a practical shoe for every day living. It’s nice for an evening out or a party but they’re not appropriate for work and certainly not for going around town. So I need more choices other than sandals. Obviously the sandals seem to work with everything and honestly that’s because the leg and foot show, I have recently become aware that a neutral tone shoes are the answer to so many styling problems like the nude hill, the tope or tan shoe literally goes with everything. But there are still styling differences in how high the vamp comes up and if it is a slim style or a chunky style as you are pointing out. So a request then for more “real life” shoes for a regular people and cool weather climates. Where I live in the Northeast US, I can only wear sandals for about 10 weeks of the year. 😢

Thank you, this video helps me with one of my main struggles: what shoes?! I never know what shoes to buy, what style of trainers etc. etc. I feel like there are so many options these days that it's harder to put things together unless you have a very basic wardrobe with only one style (my uniform has been tshirts and skinny jeans/leggings for quite a while). Now I'm just trying to work out what suits my shape. It's hard to leave my skinnies behind!
