Lions fans still love Stafford for what he did. We don’t give a damn about the Rams. We root for Stafford as long as he’s not playing against us. Some of us acted like we won the chip when Stafford did

As a native Detroiter, I'm sure I can speak for 99% of our city when I say...1 thing for sure and 2 things for certain is...we didn't boo Staff or his family. We booed the jersey he wears now not him. We led the cheers for him when he held that trophy up. He will forever have a special place in our hearts because we always knew we had 1 when he put that Honolulu blue jersey on. But when you come to take what we've been scratching and clawing for the past 3 decades..you are in that moment"The Enemy"and I'm quite sure he knows the dynamic of that.

Packer fan here, Im not sure where this they boo’d staffords family thing came from. They can boo stafford, he gave up on em, so nothing wrong with throwing a little shade at him. But dont pile on saying they are booing his family. That makes no sense and is not the case. End of day stafford will be a welcome part of detroits legacy when its all said and done and they will welcome him. Nfc norths gonna be tough this year.

Id say Lions have a legit shot, and I see them as better than my Packers on paper. You dont have any holes and improved on the team that made it a game shy of the superbowl last season. The competition in the north might hurt playoff seeding but perhaps iron sharpens iron and it wont matter. Nfc championship game in Detroit would be a tough win for the road team if u could seed high enough to hook that up.

Yeah that was his wife who came up with that and she was an airhead before she has brain damage. The media ran with it like they always do, but that’s not what happened. No one booed her or their kids. And even if they did, what did you think was going to happen in the first home playoff game most of those fan had ever seen? Cheer for them? Again, she’s got many screws loose so I paid her no attention. Or the media.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to slight Goff. After last post season Goff is an elite QB, superstar, however you want to word it. Goff had a 103.3 QB rating last yr in playoffs Goff is 5-4 in the playoffs with 2 different teams/teammates, 2 different OC's, 2 different HC's So its probably Goff thats pretty good. Good players dominate during the regular season, great players dominate vs good players in the playoffs. There's not 5 QB's I'd take over Goff, in Detroit, right now and he's just getting started.

@@dennisligma4958 Nah, they’ll need a more mobile QB before that 4 year deal expires. The NFC north got better at the QB position and all are mobile QBs. In another year or two it’ll be interesting on what they do. They still have Hooker, which looks like that pick may have been a waste. I hope I’m wrong, though.

Back then, there were only local games and one prime time game. You couldn’t possibly have a thing back then in terms of popularity. It doesn’t mean biggest fan base. It doesn’t mean best traveling fan base. It means teams you root for after yours is out of it. That’s typically the new guy at the table and/or the underdog and/or the team that hadn’t won before. Yeah, it sure seems like the Lions are that team right now. Never in my 40 years of life have the Lions been this popular nationally. These talking heads have been heaping praise on the Lions since they beat Stafford in the playoffs last year.

Seattle game is interesting early season game because their last 2 trips to Detroit they have won both. That needs to get handled . Geno just seems to get the ball out quickly and accurately when we play them, points are coming to easily for them. They have great players and that division has tough physical teams that battle harden any squad. Respect to the Seahawks but we need to win that game for psychological reasons.

@@RickC-sc5ki I get it, but I admire Stafford. Why? His toughness, amazing skill, leadership, thrilling combacks, just a terrific player. The difference is that some athletes are whiners and bon't care about anyone but themselves. I think he is a man of character. Some athletes who are gone I still root for, like Verlander. If the Lions and Rams have something extra in the rivalry, that's good.

Now that it is there, the team is a superbowl contender. Not many QBs could deal with what Goff has. Not every QB is mahomes. Don't need them to be if there is a team around them. Brad Holmes in 3 yrs has built a " perfect" monster of a team, Goff has been a big part of this rise 👏

@@freedomthefreeman487 Goff IS a great team leader. His teammates love him. He's a pocket passer with a damn good pocket. When the O-line broke down, he looked like a mere mortal but the Lions are built around his great fit as the centerpiece of the best play action offense (or one of the best). They had a few bad games last year due to having to plug in young reserve players in the line , and maybe that will happen again. The Lions are very happy with him. If he and Jamo ever get on the same page, look out NFL.

Nothing would beat a win over the Cowboys. That has always been the case, even when our team sucked, so beating them at clown world would be the best win of the regular season anyway, especially when you consider you have to beat the hometown refs as well. Seriously Chris? They throw the ball down the field? The main reason I think Goff is overpaid is that even with the best supporting 10 in the NFL he has thrown the shortest passes in the NFL 5 years running. He is a Checkdown Charlie with misleading (inflated) stats because of it (comp and int #s). If he played for a guy like Bruce Arians he'd have a 40% comp rate with 50 picks a year.
