I lived next door to an abandoned property with a small front yard like that. I mowed it...that small literally takes me 5 to 10 mins to zip over it with a few passes. I couldn't look at that every day and not knock it out.

We have neighbors who sit in the window and watch neighbors mow their grass and shovel snow, 20 years now. They have never done it themselves.

Looks like someone just gave up on the needed repairs or ran out of money doing so. I'll bet if someone had the means that would be a beautiful house and property! Brian and Justin, I think you probably gave that place a second chance for the right owner! Great Job!!!!!!

I find myself wondering if it was abandoned because it’s full of mold and mildew due to what’s left of that tarp on the roof having been torn to shreds. Even so, couldn’t the house be gutted to the brick bones and rebuilt? Sad, very sad.

It is just absolutely criminal how that house is just rotting away . It's gorgeous. Maybe your makeover will catch the eye of someone who can love it back to life. You guys did an amazing job as always!

It's probably a complete mess inside. Roof leaks have most likely destroyed all the drywall inside as well as the roof joists and foundation. It will need a complete gut and rebuild. Not to mention there is probably a large lien, insurance claim or mortgage due on it.

@Lee Francis if notices to owners don’t get responses (including banks) my town sends the parks department to mow a property and puts a tax lien against it to eventually get reimbursed. It takes a neighbor making a complaint for that process to get started.

I lost my foot to to a lawnmower when I was 11 and am terrified of them so I watch you to get used to them. I honestly see the good thru your work and it helps me get better understanding to be willing to do it again. Thank you for your services.

Many years ago I lived next to an abandoned house. I cut the grass when I cut mine. Seems like neighbors just don't do things like that anymore from what your videos show. Great job on the transformation.🙂👍

This beautiful little home was a tragedy. I don't know how anyone could have abandoned it. Yes, it needs work, but I can only imagine how gorgeous it would be if renovated. The yard was a disaster. It's always hard for me to believe that the neighbors couldn't have mowed it once in a while. I know my husband would have, for sure. It's a sad world that we live in when we can't be good neighbors. You and Justin did an amazing job, once again!!!

Unfortunately, the neighbors don't step past the property line. I did think the same thing, but sometimes it takes a big push to make a small effort. As time went by, the small effort became a big push. Brian and Justin took up the challenge, and made it look welcoming at the end of the day.

Sad, but when the homeowner can no longer afford basic repairs, especially roof repairs, you’d be surprised how much interior damage it causes and there’s probably a mold issue at this point. Beautiful house but it’s no longer considered a fixer upper. Great cleanup for the neighborhood though!

With vermin possibly running rampant which will affect the homes nearby I think that the neighbours could come together to cut the grass ( not all the time but when it seems like it is getting out of hand) especially in the front of the house.

That’s how I would be too! Even just the front yard , the neighbors could take turns , but that’s just me . I try n help my neighbors with different things , they have lawn services but I do other things to help them . ( and I’m no spring chicken myself..lol )

I see places where I live and owner dies or moved to health facility and family doesn’t live close by to care for property. I think that is often the reason we see so many of these overgrown places. Y’all are good folks to do this. Maybe this will put property up for sale.

You guys take your life in your hands when you go on properties like this. You never know what you'll find or hit. You did a great job.

I’m amazed at how little of this property was grass! It’s criminal to let a place like this just slowly rot away, and succumb to nature. You and Justin did a fabulous job on this makeover!

Some people complain about city ordinances, but it is situations like this yard that help entire communities and neighborhoods.

I can’t help but feel sad at the neglect this house has seen. It needs to be filled with love again. Great job on your part!

Major difference, it looks much better! I’m surprised that none of the neighbors mowed the front at least, and I’m glad that you did. This looks like it was a nice house at one time. Neighbors have to be appreciating your work, while neighborhood looks better & less habitat for insects & rodents.

This is a perfect example that there still are good people in this world. Job well done. A lovely looking house - too bad it's abandoned.

In 1994, I lived on a street that a homeowner moved out during the night and the home went into foreclosure. My neighbors & I took turns every week mowing and trimming the front yard. 1 neighbor knew how to turn the water on @ the meter, so we watered the yard to keep it nice. You 2 are awesome and I really enjoy your videos.

Ones never see what a little bit of kindness can bring. I can only imagine how tired you two were after doing this yard, it turned out beautifully. Who ever owns that should be grateful, I know I would be. Love watching you guys, great work. Lots of love to you both.

This house looks like a post WW II home. Well built with brick and mortar. The yard looked like it was well loved also. I know we didn't see all the landscaping . However with the layout of bushes and vines, along with the steps and patio it is obvious someone cared. What a shame! I'm only speculating, but it looks to me like the house suffered either storm damage or a fire. I bet it was hard for whoever owned this house to abandon it. Maybe with the yard cleaned up someone will see its potential and bring the house back to the living. Thank You M.Mix

Architecturally, that's a nice looking little house and - by the now uncovered flower bed edging, and such - you can see it was once a very much cared for home. With the tattered tarps on the roof - put there due to leaks, perhaps - it looks like not just the lawn became the problem. Makes you wonder what happened to the family to get to this state ? Perhaps a foreclosure due to job loss, illness, etc. ? Just sad all around. But you did a very nice job of it, tidying it up.

If this was a foreclosure, the bank that owns it should be seriously fined for allowing the property and the house to deteriorate so badly. It clearly needs a new roof and not fixing it is just asking for interior problems that could be avoided.

Glad you keep your eye out. I was thinking how people might tackle extreme overgrowth themselves, without fancy equipment. On smaller areas, I have cut down 2 1/2-3 foot tall grass by mowing 1/2 width passes with a push mower or by using hand-held hedge trimmers. Recently, I've been thinking people might manage o.k. by cutting swaths with a gas or battery hedge trimmer, maybe cut-up fallen growth to smaller pieces, and then try either piling it up for pickup or the dump or running over it with a mower. When your big mower bogged, you resorted to a string trimmer and some people have used brush hog heads on trimmers.... Archeological Recovery... fence, brick border, front porch, pond, patio...you resorted to a hedge trimmer as well. Door, walkway, (now that was really satisfying when you sheared-off those driveway weeds with the battery hedger). Thanks for wrestling the awkward vine cleanup Justin. 28:27, that is looking SO MUCH BETTER. You two really committed a miracle with this one. Thank you two you both.

Always love hearing from you man. And yes I’ve done the same with push mowers in the past! But make sure you’re not working too hard!! This one was definitely a crazy jungle! But such a good looking little house, so satisfying to see uncovered so nicely. Hopefully it gets a new lease on life soon! Have a great weekend
