@James Howlett Jensen died in the original attack on sarif industries that's why he has a sentinel implant that's what I get from the black light novel. He had a sentinel implant before panchea and whoever recovered him restarted it which gave them the opportunity to reprogram him into a sleeper agent. The sentinel implant is part of his recovery system which includes memories.

And remember Adam described how he was feeling during the period between the end of hr and the beginning of black light

i never interpreted that like "you`re a clone too" but replaying the game and finding all those clues again really gives me the chills right now. I wish they would finally give us some closure. At least another DLC that finishes the Story Arc

The Illuminati in the game is a fictional version, the real Illuminati disbanded hundreds of years ago. There would still be secret organizations and cults but not the Illuminati in this day and age.

When you speak with the fractured version of elisa she talks about recognising the real version if you saw them. I wondered if she was talking about herself or Jensen.

The safe assumption I can fully describe is that this is likely a case test of pscyhopharma soldiers or at least suggesting that Adam Jensen is the predecessor to what becomes the Men in Black. Either clones (unlikely) or significantly operated on men that are conditioned to be exactly like Adam Jensen with all of his skills but none of the risk of disloyalty. This is likely why at the end of the game he is referred to being "remarkably stable" so any of the cryogenic chambers they are in will eventually be activated as sleeper agents. The unsafe one I can make is that Adam Jensen is THE template for nanoaugmentation which is why Versalife has had him cloned due to his genetics - hence "Adam" being the progenitor of all life, he will be progenitor and first nanoaugmented agent (as a clone like Paul and JC). A little sketchy on where this would be used however.

The clone theory makes so much sense, but I don't want to believe it. It's even more upsetting when I think about 'Adam' talk with Eliza, the new augs with David, and small details like 2 Adams on title screen.

Best theory I've got is that's the original Jensen and we play as a Clone throughout MD, would make sense why the augs are new and the memory loss, also at the very start of the game when Adam wakes up on the train, the Illuminati woman is asleep on his shoulder, obviously not a coincidence so it makes sense she's monitoring him

The final call with Sarif during SM03 is a pretty strong indication that you are in fact not playing as the real Adam Jenson. There's no way he could have escaped Panchaea anyway. We know from another side mission that you can implant ones memories into another. Who cloned him and why? We'll likely never know.

I believe its in order to mass produce the person with the ability to install unlimited augmentations (which feeds Page's end goal). The brain chip means he can be given subconscious goals (De Beers making him hunt Janus), implanted with false memories (the entirety of the Criminal Past DLC) and one of the deadliest pieces in the board has swapped sides unbeknownst to even himself. Its a very subtle move, but an extremely powerful one.

The retelling allows Delara to get more information on how the implant is holding, as well as insight into his decision making process. Remember that De Beers is ultimately manipulating him to find Janus for him.

The original Deus Ex did that right, JC was a clone to Paul but he was still conceived by their mother and grow up in a natural way when Paul was 10. Though the cloning process in Versalife happened way before 2029 the year JC was born, still, I believe that all these happened in 2029 can't be mere coincidence.

The thing is is that it doesn't have the augments on the outside of his eyes, where the amber shades always sprout from. It can't be the original Jensen because then he would be missing so much more than just his arms and legs. Also when the EMP goes off you can see that the face looks a whole lot older than Adam, it has bags under its eyes and many wrinkles. It has to be the genetic material donor for Adam when he was given genetic therapy when he was younger. Even though they have the ability to give genetic therapy to younger kids, I don't think they have the ability to completely clone a person and even give that person all of his memories. Just because there is hacking augs and the CASIE in his head doesn't mean they can pull out any memory that he had and download it to another person. We don't know what parts of his brain were completely rebuild but they had to keep enough for him to still be himself. Sarif couldn't redownload Adam's memories when he was rebuilt because Adam was 100% biological before that, so they can't transfer the synapses of his brain to a memory disk or SSD. I think Versa Life is like the new Helix Labs or the company that may have bought them out or something.

Remember, Because Adam was the sole known surviving subject of the White Helix fire, set by his true parents (Adam was sent out before they started the fire to give him a chance for a normal life), his genes are invaluable to the Illuminati, and The Dentons in Deus Ex are all but stated to have been clones of Adam... Meaning the one we see here, could be a progenitor to the 'Sons of Adam'. Remember, Paul Denton has a Strong resemblance to Adam Jensen... Down to even the Eyebrow "Scar", a trait shared with JC Denton.

So we are all aware that Jenson is essentially the 1 in a trillion genetic code that they need and ALL characters in the Deus Ex series essentially share Jensen's bloodline. The Denton brothers are both either direct descendants or clones of Jensen.

David sarif finds it interesting that competitor augs were compatible with sarif's patented augs, it's interesting but you find out you were getting watched at the train station before the bomb goes off, Vadim orlov's garage has a wall of photos one with Jensen and Alex at the start They were watching him for a while, and I think there's another option if you don't tell sarif about the new augs or dont call him at all where vadim lives It's only when you do investigation on the matter does orlov eventually die. that reeks of a cover up he didn't commit suicide he was beat to death Eliza says something like "her trust resides in adam, now it resides in you" like she's talking to someone she knows isn't the MD jensen

It would definitely explain something I‘ve been wondering about since the first lauch trailer as I immediately noticed the change in his hair color which is now almost black instead of brown. I‘d thought it was just a blooper in graphics but maybe you‘re right and there‘s more to it

This literally changes the lore , if adam ever goes rogue it might be due to him being a clone or something else

5 Years later and this still has me puzzled. Doubt we'll get any answers or another DX Game though, sad as it sounds. They should've left the Breach Game Mode out of the Game, and instead have more people work on the Main Story and finished that to a more satisfying ending, than what we are stuck with now. Or at least have the DLCs be more meaningful instead of just adding more cliffhangers and more unanswered questions

If you ask me, I think Adam was always an artificially engineered human that was conceived through natural birth, like JC, and the clones were there as backups, in case something might happen, like Adam's death at Panchaea. Either way, there it is clear that who we are playing is not the original Adam Jensen.

And you are right, in Human Revolution there is a side mission in which you track Adam's caretaker but unfortunately she has dementia so she can't remember everything but she does mention White Helix Labs which was genetic research facility (owned by VersaLife) that did experiments on babies and they succeeded with Adam which is why his body doesn't reject implants.

Shackleton refers to the VersaLife base that was abandoned after JC initiated the Great Collapse, you visit it in Invisible War when you awaken him

Holy shit what a find! The scene during the credits where Dr. Audience talks about "Adam" gives even more credit to this. Wow.

It's also mentioned during the events of Deus Ex: Black Light that Elizabeth Duclare looked at a file with a picture of an unspecified "dead man."

1)Jensen chances of surviving the destruction of Panchaea and being in the freezing ocean for a week are low, winning the lottery 11 times in a row while doing a back flip , getting stuck by lightning while at it and landing on your feet low. (even with his extreme augmentation) 2)his memory has a lot of gaps 3) there is the entire serial killer story line quest about implementing memories (project that had ~2 decades to evolve) 4) Sarif makes it plainly obvious that his augments are not the one he gave "Adam Jensen" (he does not state I gave YOU , he states the implants he gave Adam Jensen) and if you have not figured out by what he is saying that said augments are NOT the original ones he gave you (just copies , remember TY bought out sarif and all its tech) , then you may wish to replay the game. 5) the body in versa life vault is clearly identical to you , it can only mean 2 things : 1) it is a clone of you , 2) you are the clone of the original Adam, read the points above and it is easy to see what the truth is.

Why would the clone body be put on ice after having it's limbs hacked off? What could be the purpose of that? No, that's the real Jensen in that box. The one we are playing as has got to be a clone (rather than surgically altered illuminati asset) since he has Adam's unique genetic quirk that allows his body to accept augs without neuropozyne.

Well, Paul Denton was born normally for a normal couple. His brother, JC, was cloned eleven years later, created by scientists of Majestic 12.

I have always hold the idea that Adam is manufactured, and has clones. In previous teasers of Deus Ex Human Revolutions I remember a baby fetus, like beings being manufacture. But is shocking to see it. And my theory is that the Denton's of the original game, are clones or part of Adam );

I just don't know, a part of me would like the twist of Jensen being a clone while the other half is depressed at the fact that the real Adam might actually be dead, ironically the body inside the vault has a lack of augs as Jensen's torso and head are the only human parts left, just like the torso and there are good strong merits in the clone theory there are also holes and discrepancies, especially when it comes to cloning. Cloning has not been perfected yet in 2029, especially flash cloning, clones have to be grown and be allowed to mature in order to be able to fully learn master and integrate as a normal human which takes 20 or more years, flash cloning is quick but has many drawbacks (Jensen doesn't have any drawbacks which would make him a perfect clone, which would also mean he would have to have been cloned years before HR took place) and it hasn't even been proven yet. Another thing to note is that JC was born at the same time as this game takes place, but he had to be implanted into a fetus and grown naturally as a child to be the perfect clone, therefore i find it unlikely the Illuminati would have the means to create a perfect clone of our boy Adam. Also this game suffered the KotoR treatment and the story and the game itself were cut in half, making the cut content non canon.

Whst if I tell that it was mentioned in the game that memory transfer has been discovered, if you talk to one of the cultist in the start of the game at adams place (church of the machinegod) he'll tell u about it, which means that a clone could have the same memory as the real Adam Jensen

if there's anyone in the DE prequel timeline who has been cloned, it's Jensen. it's entirely possible that there were clones of him still being grown after he escaped from the lab he himself was born in. that does cause a few issues with the story, such as why only now are they using a Jensen clone, but he didnt need to be flash cloned if other clones also were spirited away from the burned down White Helix lab.

The Adam we are playing is Adan Jensen 2.0. They cloned Adam Jensen and put his memory in the clone so the Jensen we are playing is indeed the continuation of the original one as memory is what defines him.

Since Adam had hidden experimental augmentations in mankind divided that he received after he was rescued from the pangea facility (sea) the version of Adam we play in mankind divided could be an experimental prototype clone of the original Adam 🤔

Sarif mentions that Adam's augs have serial numbers and that non of Said serial numbers show up on any records of the facility

The fact that Sarif Said: there is NO way they could not be able to ID you, proof of no one trying to ID any John Doe. Koller telling Adam his installed Augs did not have the special Sarif touch, mean they were harvest from original to attach to the Clone (maybe they need the original Augs for the serials to match. The Body itself on the Versa life vault, could be the Clone? why will have scars then? The Fact that Megan keep with her research with access to Adam was must, then She has it.

This is the correct read on what Sarif said. I do believe we're playing as a clone, but many pro-clone arguments do not interpret those Serif lines correctly. He is not saying "you have different augs" he is saying "the john doe story doesn't hold up." Adam doesnt necessarily follow the argument, depending on what responses you choose, but Sarif's intentions are very clear: it is a lie that they couldnt identify you, the story they told you does not hold water.

That body have scar on his left eyebrow, Jensen also have scar on his left eyebrow. Jensens arm and leg are augmentation, That body doesnt have arm and leg.

Here's what I think nobody considers. We are playing as the real Adam. But those dudes? They have been created to be like Jensen. Adam possibly being a sleeper agent? Yea that's just something implanted in him just like his new augs. Not a product of him being a clone. This would be he didn't die tho. Or was somehow revived. Which again isn't that out of pocket when you consider the very beginning of the 1st game. So there's definitely some fuckery with Adam but mostlikey we are the orginal.

Jensen of MD is a clone. When you speak with Sarif, you find out that all of the Augs that clone Jensen has are new ones (including the ones the clone thinks he inherited from Sarif Industries). Sarif ind. put serial numbers on all of original Jensen's augs, but this clone Jensen's augs do not have any serial numbers (even the old ones), implying they are brand new. Why would they bother to replace Jensen's implants, let alone replace them with ones that look exactly the same, unless they were meant to be disguise? It makes more sense that they cloned this fool and made a new one look exactly like the old.

George Kobakhidze except the fact that doctor K would have noticed this and pointed out that all the augs were recent instead he says that the original augs have been there for the two years and only the experimental ones were recent. So unless Jensen was replaced two years ago it wouldn’t make sense.

@@Hiltonke7 dr. K is mainly working with black market augs, and Jensen's augs are the most advanced augs he has ever seen. I don't remember dr. K saying that those augs are 2 years old, he only says that there are some new experimental augs which were hidden. Why would he examine every part of Jensen's old augs if there are some hidden ones installed and Jensen needs to know ASAP?

Enarity then you need to watch their first encounter again. He already had a small glimpse at Jensen’s augs from the out side he just never looked at where they were hooked up. He literally says that these new Augsburg are “more recent “ then his original augs meaning they were added after panchea since his augs are healed. He also mentions that the new augs are sloppy like someone just attached things where ever they would stick compared to the original which where professional and organized real slick work. So yes dr. K would have picked up if they were all the same he can tell the approximate time they were put in since he installs parts himself. The kids a genius.

Enarity don’t know if that’s sarcasm but you don’t need to play again you can just view the clip from the menu. The better argument for a clone would be from the message in the picus vault. That would be where to build the theory.

That might explains the last conversation with David Sarif as well as the after-credit scene of the game.

If the body was Adam Jensen from HR, where's the implanted sunglasses.

@Mohammed and where are the scars from them? His mustache is too black for those in the cold. Other ears. The visible part of the forehead does not match that of Adam. This is not Adam Jensen this is just a copy-paste part of his appearance. Developers they are people too and just took what was nearby.

If you play the game, it more or less suggests that Jensen was whisked from Panchea to Garm in the swiss alps and gained new enhancements from Orlov. Then transferred to Alaska, without his knowledge. Plausible in the this type of genre, due to the most elaborate cover ups are possible in Deus Ex World. However theres no trace or emphasis of clones throughout MKD.

them what makes sense about wanting clones is the fact that his body doesn't reject Aug's. But, you would think it would be better to just make an Android.

It's Adam all right. But which Adam? The Adam that died during the aug incident? Or the Adam that died during the Sarif Industries attack? Or neither? Hmm...

is this the reason why adam not affected by orchid when it injected?

I think it's because orchid quickens implan rejection proccess. Because Adam's unique genetic make up prevents it, he does not suffer from it.

MD jensen is a clone. He has replacement augs that were not made by sarif, he is how paul and jc denton are possible. In mankind divided and the upcoming sequels it will be revealed that you are being manipulated into finding the identity of janus, i'm very interested to see what they will do with the mj12 storyline

Clone or not Adam has changed cus Sarif said he could not identify Adam, it's ok if he is a clone cus in Deus Ex we have always been playing as a clone. So main question who's clone is Adam Jensen.

What if it's Paul Denton who looks more like Adam.

Maybe it is Jensen's original body. And the Jensen in Mankind Divided is another guy or a clone who got Jensen's memory implanted into him (just like Daria Myska who think she is the harvester).

Grognougnou Gaming Great point. Daria also has augs made by Orlov just like Jensen, and VersaLife was experimenting with inputting personalities into people. It’s possible that the Jensen in Mankind Divided isn’t quite a clone, but rather someone who was surgically altered to look like Jensen and then had his memories implanted. Still, that would not explain how the Jensen in MD does not need neuropryzyne when everyone else does....

Just like in Invisible War Adam us not a clone but a robot. Remember at the begining of the game he said his Panchaea stiry etc and ... If course Sarif thinks it is bullshit. Then When you play mission "bugs" and Eliza etc. You know your memories are fake. Adam the first man. Also at the end we understand you are a tool of Illuminati.

Maybe it's Jensen's body, but they reconstructed him after the attack on Sarif Ind. and transferred his brain, features etc. to a mechanical and advanced body that we play as now. After all, Versalife bought Sarif Industries and everything with it and they needed the original body to use Jensen's DNA for the further augmentation science. We play as a Jensen, but it's more like a Robocop style.

Also, in MD, Adam Jensen is 36 years old, in the end of HR, he's 34-35. So the patient records of a 32 year old patient X is a bit fuzzy.

We don’t play as the original. Because when you talk to they guy in the second mission he says that all of jensons parts were supposed to have identification codes on all of his augments
