Shocking Post-War Conditions Of The Country - Inside Homs, Syria 🇸🇾
Syria was one of the countries I visited at the beginning of my KZread journey. When I posted my trip precisely two years ago, I had less than 10 thousand subscribers. I am resharing these videos for a wider audience now and sharing my experiences from Syria with my guide. Syria is a country that cannot be visited solo, and you have to have a guide assigned by the government for security reasons, but also, your trip details get reported to the government at the end of your trip by your travel agency. That is why I had a companion most of the time in Syria.
Twelve years ago, a peaceful uprising against the Syrian president escalated into a full-scale civil war. The conflict has caused the death of over half a million people, destroyed cities, and involved other countries.
The war has resulted in immense suffering for the Syrian population, with over half of the pre-war population of 22 million being forced to flee their homes. More than 6.8 million Syrians are internally displaced, with over two million living in tented camps and having limited access to basic services. An additional 6 million Syrians are refugees or asylum-seekers abroad, and countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, which are hosting 5.3 million of them, have struggled to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history.
As of the beginning of 2023, the UN reported that 15.3 million people in Syria required humanitarian assistance, which is an all-time high since the war began. Furthermore, 12 million Syrians did not know where their next meal was coming from.
Although the government has regained control of Syria's biggest cities, rebels, jihadists, and the Kurdish-led SDF still hold large parts of the country, and there have been no changes in the front lines for three years.

it wasnt a peaceful uprising. hillarys arab spring started a violent riot against the govt of syria, libya, ukraine screaming democracy, but leftist definition of democracy is freedom to abort babies, trans mutilation of children, homosexuality, murder, riot, persecute evangelicals, socialism, ect. this is not freedom. and how can any muslim be for such things.

I bet being there was pretty intense! Who was the guy following you everywhere? At minute 26 he was telling your guide what to translate to you. When you asked the juice man when was the last time he saw tourists, the juice man said in arabic "since about a week or less". But you can hear that guy whispering to the guide "2 days". So she said to you 2 days. And when you asked the juice man the tourists are from which country, the juice man said "they're tourists from here" (he means from the neighbouring cities). But that guy whispered to the guide "Russia". So she told you the tourists were Russians. (She looked uncomfortable by the way). If I keep analyzing your video, I will go on and on (like the taxi who was following you on the other side of the street). But the important thing is that you made it there and you came up with a nice video!

@@user-xy4hu9np3r why don't u just enjoy the video what's with all the questions.
A wonderful, wonderful country, I visited for some weeks in 2011 just as things went bad; I pray for a fast return to normal, they are a beautiful people.
I'm very glad you don't cut your videos. It's much more real to real life and learn what people go through in this world. I'm very grateful to be in America. Too many families have suffered.
Just finished watching your afg videos. My father left in the 80s to Iran, where he met my mother. They fled to US and here I am. Your videos give me hope and break my heart at the same time. I appreciate you and your team traveling to these places to remind us of the humanity left in the wake of such horrible things.

I have been following quite a few Middle East travel channels and the Middle East never fails to amaze me with their rich history..amazing historical or archeological locations and they have some of the most amazing views in the world. There is so much we can learn and study from all these countries..their people and from ancient civilizations. I hope and wish the Middle East can find peace and prosperity soon..for the people and the perseverance of its rich culture.
Syria is big Arabic country in the world because of war Everything is chance..😢😢😢😢😢..love Syrian people from Malaysia..
So sad, beautiful places turned into ruins due to civil war. Hopefully the Syrian government rebuilds these places back into their former glory

Wow Syria that amphitheatre is absolutely fantastic. Thankyou Davud and Mary for taking us there. Hopefully you get the tourists back Syria to see this place. The fruit man was lovely. 🏴
Seeing the sellers struggling in this hard time for Syria's tourism just break my heart to million pieces. And seeing the other seller in background at 26:04 just instantly moved his fruit juice stall inside after you made a deal to buy a juice from the other stall just made me sad even more. That means you are the only costumer of the day, Davud. And I am a little bit relief that you made a business with him before with post cards and souvenirs. 😔 Damn, FCK WARS!!!!!!! Seriously, people! War is suck!
Just started to follow you yesterday. You sir, are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. I'd love to go.

So sad to see this place like this . These places are of historical importance. Because of governmental negligence and carelessness may be the reason to maintain these sites same like this.

It is not negligence, but the reason is the Western sanctions on this country. It was a safe country and they interfered in its affairs and created a civil war. On top of that, they prevent any country that tries to help this country and impose the most severe sanctions to starve the people of this country. The policy of this era is that you must destroy everyone who stands in the way of your policy. This is how the West

Imagine that you admire this country and its people, and at the same time you are part of the countries that impose sanctions on this country, and you contribute to electing those who starve these people, and you pay taxes to those who create wars in safe countries. This is like your example of defending the rights of animals by confining them in parks and inside cages just so you can enjoy looking at them. close up

Yes in the Goverment held Areas. The major Cities are under Government controll, so yes it's save like most other Westasian countries.
No wounder if it is a Surya Mandir (Sun Temple ) I guess .Becoz by the place name and the way it constructed . it has a theater attached to it of course.
