What's shaking, people! I'm back with another Big Country reaction as we move into our deep-dive in earnest. And indeed, I was obviously familiar with their hit-song "In a Big Country," but this is the first Big Country tune I'm listening to for the first time, and all I have to say is "wow!" You have no idea how happy you made me when you heard the violin in the guitars I mentioned in my comment on IABC. It is such a ubiquitous sound to me as a fellow Fifer but it isn't as easy to pick out when you didn't grow up in the middle of the same inspirations. You haven't even heard the half of it yet, there is so much more to come. There isn't a bad NOTE on this album! Really looking forward to Porrohman 😃 Thanks again from here in Big Country town 😃🏴😃
Inwards is personally my favourite track on the album
I was 13 when this album came out and was totally mesmerised .
Spoiler alert folks - every song on The Crossing is ace. It's a unique masterpiece.
Amazing to think that the drummer and bassist were session musicians for hire when they joined.
The next song "Chance" and the original closing track "Porrohman" are the best songs on the album IMO.
