Shnootz - Reaction Video (ABBA - Honey, Honey)

What's up, folks! I'm back with another ABBA reaction from their 1974 album Waterloo, and this time we listen to "Honey, Honey," a track with passionate lyrics and seemingly a bit of a late-night vibe. So join me as we continue our journey through this early ABBA album. Cheers!
Side note: the video cut out about 10 seconds before I ended the reaction, but it was literally just my typical outro. So you didn't miss anything of consequence. Also there's another ABBA reaction coming straight after this. ;)

best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America congratulations on your reaction to "Honey honey" very good and catchy song It is from the post "Waterloo" era of 1974, when ABBA was looking for its second success, and the revival of "Ring ring", plus the singles "Honey honey" and "So long" did not achieve great impact and they had to wait for 1975 with the approach of "I do I do I do I do I do" and the definitive impact of "S.O.S." that will start your unbroken chain of successes "Honey honey" is from the group in which The boys on the one hand and The girls on the other sing verses in solo responding, as in the debut: "People need love" and the following: "He is your brother" and: "Love isn't easy" "Honey honey" also is the last song recorded by ABBA in swedish too There is a TV perfomance in Germany 1974, with the smash hit "Waterloo" in first time, where ABBA use the costumes of Superheroes with superpowers that they did it in 1974 from the promotional video for "Ring ring" Also there are some more TV perfomance of "Honey honey", in wich the ladies Agnetha and Frida are more seductives Honey honey for me is the best song of the full album (only behind the tittle track "Waterloo")

Thx, I love their songs from the beginning of their career, the lightness, the youth, the carefreeness, always well done, produced, but that too much underestimates musically wrongly, it seems to me. By their different slyles Abba are undoubtedly one of the groups with the most diversified, wide production.

This was released as the follow up to Waterloo in most countries and was pretty successful but not the UK, where it was decided to re-issue Ring Ring. Unfortunately it stalled at Number 32 and a cover version of Honey Honey by Sweet Dreams went Top 10 a couple of months later. It's very bubblegum pop, sweet and catchy, a great pop tune. In terms of it's place in Abba history it still feels like a pastiche - each song so far has tried a different musical style. It's learning process and artists do it too, where we try stuff and absorb influences - eventually we find that unique thing that makes the work ours.

Sweet Dream's Version sounds so weak and outdated to me compared to Abba's anyway. This should have definately been their UK follow up to 'Waterloo'.But again the prejudiced UK radio stations at the time possibly wouldn't play this too since they had already decided that they should be one hit wonders and worst of all they were non Anglo-Saxon but Swedish! They hadn't imagined of what was to follow.

Agnetha and Frida put a sexy twist to the vocals with this one and carried this through with their performance too. Great instrumentation on this too.

Oh boy, are they chasing the pop dragon with this one! Still, they don’t sacrifice any of their inventiveness and this is probably the most accomplished of their early dialogue songs.

It's true! I've learned they have this remarkable ability to make something poppy and accessible yet still have depth and critical appeal. Incredible.
