I really loved this trilogy. A little wordy at times, but in retrospect every scene and character were necessary.
I've owned the entire realm of the elderlings for over two years but only got to the fareeer trilogy, thus far. I need to get to this series, Hobbs prose is so amazing and her character work is some of the best I've ever seen
Just read this one 2 months ago and then Mad Ship last month. Hobb is just absolutely amazing.
Hobb is my all-time favorite author. Liveship Traders is absolutely phenomenal, and my third favorite of her RotE sub-series behind Fitz and the Fool and Tawny Man. Great review sir!
I was going through a very lonely time in life when I picked up Robin Hobb's books thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I read the first three trilogies and was blown away and some of the character became my best friends. I too found the Liveship traders the most profound, although it's a close tie with the Farseer trilogy. I did not get sold on the Soldier Son. And by the time Fitz and the Fool returned to page, I actually found out by stumbling upon a book signing with Robin just sitting there.. I had no idea. I have yet to read those novels because I felt I would need to go back and re read the other trilogies to remember the story fully. I hope they are as good as the first two trilogies with those characters?
My favourite of Hobbs works

Abercrombie is too optimistic and naive for me, I want some grit;)
I just bought it two days ago.
These books changed my life and my perspective when it comes to writing. Brian do you know of any other nautical fantasy series that are just as masterful as these books?
I was looking forward to this review! I have the trilogy but I have not read it yet. I just started magician's apprentice by Raymond Feist so I will have to read Robin Hobb next!
Awesome review for an awesome book. 🔥
Great review of a really good book.
Currently trying to listen to the audio book and finding it a slog, i just want more Fitz after reading the assasins apprentice trilogy!
Kennit had me rooting for a fucking evil selfish villain
