Shinzen's "Dharma-Free" Funny Story of his Car Accident while on LSD

Okay, this is an outake, but Steph couldn't stop laughing when she watched it, so she felt others would also appreciate. Shinzen tells how he lost an ear in a car accident that wasn't a bad trip. It's a funny re-telling of a story - along with his experience with alien abductions... (Yep.) Shinzen assures us all that there is no dharma in these stories - so they are for entertainment purposes only.

it sounds like you have dabbled with dreaming. all my life i practiced hunting the self. my first experience of an altered reality began with dreaming before i moved on to meditation. that sleep paralysis is a profound state. the first thing the lucid dreamer learns to do is to be aware they are sleeping. the lucid dreamer does not have full control and a limited capacity to create. then they have to learn how to reach that sleep paralysis state. from there one can begin to create. at first fear sets in but if you can move past the fear as you obviously must have then it is the art of dreaming. from here one can create things. i started by recreating my bedroom. everything had to be exact. so i would wake and check my room go back to sleep and enter the dreaming state( sleep paralysis.) making sure the replica was exact. have you tried moving around? i like how when i moved around i could feel myself moving around in the room but my real body was sleeping and i could feel that too. gives a whole new meaning to the out of body experience dont you think? an astral projection so to speak. only as an astral projection may one begin to create and gain full control of all aspects of dreaming.
